Preseason 2028 – Shakhtar

Decent, yet short, preseason
In:
Lucianinho is a solid 21 y.o. versatile Brazilian, no fee equals I want, loaned him to the lower league Illichivets in the Ukraine to give him a year to adjust to the climate of Eastern Europe. Kharchenko is a highly touted 15 y.o. Ukrainian midfielder, doing a little poaching of the lesser Ukrainian youth systems, a tried and true formula. Lucas is a very highly touted 19 y.o. Brazilian midfielder, I paid a good bit for him , so I want him to get maximum playing time which he may not have [yet] for me, so I loaned him to Celta Vigo in Spain. Claudio Báez is a very highly touted 19 y.o. Argentinian attacking player, will certainly become a solid rotational player here even at his young age. Ivan Momot is just a decent rotational Ukrainian midfielder, more defensive minded, just to add some Ukrainian depth to the squad; poached him from relegated Obolon so he went for pretty cheap. Jun'ichi Sasaki is an amazing attacking Japanese player who will jump right into the starting line-up for me. Du is an amazing 18 y.o. defensive minded Brazilian midfielder who will also jump right into the rotation despite his young age.
Out:
Let a ton of 33+ year olds go in Oscar, Insua(retired), Fred(retired), Milik(retired), Hamid, Lemina(retired). Montealegre is a 4.5

Slow start to the season, need to get the wheels turning.
Too early to judge anything. Not worried.

In:
Nicolás Soria is a proven top league player who wanted out of Manchester; an Argentinian attacker that despite being 30 y.o. is still an amazing player and with Bukharov's departure, I wanted to bring in a proven goalscorer that could slot directly in.
Out:
Loaned some youngsters.

Loaned some youngsters. The offers for Klimakov and Célio were too good to turn down, so I thought I'd cash in. Torrejón was old and making too much per week and I just wanted him out.

Ugh Starting keeper Guidi and Gobbi both got injured in training before this game, so we went in severely lacking on the defensive side of the pitch, and it certainly showed

Another undefeated month
Continuing to wreck domestically.
Consecutive titles is not even hard at this point
Have to stay on our toes but looking like we'll make it out of the group!
...Why? haha I mean I would probably only invest in Homegrown players at this point, and the two best Ukrainian players are a god on Liverpool and Bukharov who I just sold.

Premyer-Liha & Champions League
Solid month!
Juventus handed us our first defeat of the season, but we gave a good account of ourselves in Turin.
Two solid league victories followed the Juve game.
An annoying home draw at home against Monaco which left us in 2nd place in the Champion's league and needing a solid win away in Greece as well as hoping that Monaco could nick a home victory against Juve for us to obtain that 1st position in the group.
Lucky to win 1-0 at home against Dnipro even though we dominated the game. Left it late through the Ecuadorian substitute midfielder Darwin.
Needed a victory away in Greece at Olympiakos to ensure we would at least get 2nd in the group. Following a tough game where we couldn't finish our chances, 2 of our 3 subs, with the other being Sasaki who assisted 2, scored the 3 vital goals to at least send us though in 2nd in the group.
Easy mode in the Ukraine with Shakhtar.
