Sterling has the whole "bump into defender, go down, grab the ball" stuff down to a tee

The ref has been appalling.

We haven't been much better either.

Offside plus a dive from Gerrard, Owen is a fucking dick.

Gerrard landed on Kasper's foot which is why Kasper went down which brought Gerrard down, not a peno

No i'm not, his leading foot looked offside to me and there was no part of that challenge that should have knocked Gerrard of his feet. The fact he knew he wasn't quick enough to get to the ball made him go down trying to get the penalty, not a foul.

I though the right back played him on, only seen one replay though. He could have easily got the ball Certainly not a dive, agree with Slashman though, not a pen.

Everyone went mental about that De Gea save? Straight at him

It was straight at him, but it was a damn good save tbh.

Not the best performance tonight, but we got better in the second half. We probably would have lost that under Moyes.

A save you'd expect a keeper to make. Unless you have Mignolet in nets.

I'm 90% sure Van Gaal is actually a wizard of some sort. We're obviously still a work in progress, but some of the positives of his reign are hard to believe.

Smalling looks composed and silky on the ball, Young and Valencia both actually look like they can play full back, and Fellaini looks like a footballer.

Now if only we can get a forward firing regularly and we're good to go I reckon.

Smalling was class, but also thought Rojo looked very, very good.

I can't believe the change in Fellaini the most, unbelievable.

Was Lee Mason really that bad tonight? I haven't seen any of the match.

I really like him, thought he coped admirably at the start of the season with a new partner every week and fuck all of a midfield in front of him. But I think he's a really good defender, with a good range of passing which is important in the system we're playing. Looks physically up for it too.

Not 100% sure he reads the game as well as he could yet but Smalling does that very well, so I think he compensates for it.

I have a massive soft spot for Rojo too. He's a bit rough around the edges but I think that just makes me like him more, he's a right little trooper. Smalling is still a worry for me. Was good tonight but still has the same problem as Evans when it comes to getting any sort of consistency going.

Was very impressed with Valencia and Young tonight too, but then again it's only the first time this season that I have been so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

But because of injuries and nothing else, really. The red card against City was an aberration, and probably the worst thing he's done in a United shirt but I struggle to think of a single other occasion that he's let us down (I'm sure there are some, mind), even playing right back he did ok, but got stick for being useless going forward.

What he needs is a run of games, and he's getting that at the minute. I think he's comfortably the best player we have back there, still think Jones might have a future here too, but Evans is done, I reckon.
