I'm pretty sure it is snow. Are you looking the cut on a black background when you are doing the cut? You should always check the cut on dark and bright backgrounds to make sure there is no snow around it.

This is it how it looks after uploading to the game.

Now I see, it's probably something wrong with the method you're using to cut, but despite various attempts by various users, nobody's managed to nail down what causes it. The best way to avoid the "box" appearing in the game is to manually use the eraser around the edges of your cuts. Not ideal, granted, but I have no better way of solving this...

So I have now tried to do my first ever cut-out face. I took a picture of Olic that was on this guide.

Please tell me what you guys think.

I can't find any picture of Olic from here, but here's my thoughts of the cut. The edges of the hair are very blurry, because you have used some blur effect and there's also snow with a halo effect around the hair and his left ear. The cut is also tilted towards the left and it should be centered. It's certainly a decent first cut though, but there's still some work to be done. What tools are you using to make your cuts?

A tiny amount of blur can do miracles, but too much and the cut will end up looking bad. Preferably you shouldn't use any but in some cases where it's very hard to do the cut otherwise a tiny amount of blur can safe the day.

Any tips/suggestions?

I can't use Photoshop at the moment so I can't really comment, and it really depends on the quality of the source image, but there's definitely an inordinately large gap between the top of the player's head/hair and the top of the cut-out. Ideally, there aren't any more than a pixel or two.

There's a lot of snow around the hair. There's some good guides in the first post to get rid of it. Always check the cuts on a dark background as well as on bright.

There's still some left although it's not nearly as bad. The thing is thought, that there was so much snow originally that using the clone stamp is not the optimal tool since it actually adds a lot more hair to him. I'd suggest you to work on the basics so you wouldn't get the snow in the first place or that there would at least be a lot less of it. I think you also overscaled the image and ideally you should never overscale any cuts, unless no better source is available.

Any thoughts about this cuts, which one looks better?:

He's a really young player and I could not find a better picture, I spent like 10 minutes trying to find one.

Good to see you give cutting a go. There's a video on how to remove snow here. There's plenty of other hints and tips in this thread.

Also, if possible, (and this is for everyone in general and not just you) please stop requesting images from uefa.com sources - most of the players on that site already have recent and high-quality images in the megapack and there is no real need for them to be re-cut at this point in time.

Have a look at the spoiler by rtsrobintje in the opening post to better understand what makes an improvement. Just because it's more recent, doesn't always mean it's better...

Thank you Mons, I have cs6 photoshop and I do not find the same option in the video (the icon), thank you in advance.
I will like to help you to cut-out.

There's no snow, but the hair seems to have plenty of sharp edges, which don't look natural to me. But it's hard to tell without seeing the source image. Definitely a lot improvement though.

It's a lot better than your previous cuts and it's a rather hard source image to work with. His hair is missing some details and such, but in overall it's a good start. If I were you I would start with better source images and then move towards the harder ones. I did quick cut of that same picture and here's what it looks like by me. It could be a lot better, but I didn't spend too much time with it as it's just an example.

Thanks for the advice! Will do. I chose this picture as it was the only good one that I found for this player. Thanks for the great cut too
