22nd birthday today. Shame flu and people I usually go out with having other plans means that it looks like being a bit disappointing on the going out front.

Worked out I only spent £19 on drinks and lift home last night. Not bad considering getting home is usually £20

I was fucking shafted on the ride home last night. 4 of us went out, asked my brother to pick us up, said we'd pay £20 for him to drop us all home and he agreed (the mug). Then I get a text saying he's decided to get pissed instead but this lad he knows will pick us up. That bastard charged us a tenner each. Happy fucking New Years indeed.

I went to an absolutely atrocious 'house party' in London that was basically just an excuse for one of our mates to bang a bird, her housemate clearly hadn't been informed of the fact they were having a party and was telling people to shut up at about half 12 meaning we ended up bailing at about 3 in the morning because there was no where to sleep and getting first train home in the morning.

Could be worse though, my mates that went clubbing were paying £10 a drink. Disgusting.

They wouldn't happen to be in Norway, would they?

London, its expensive at the best of times but places tend to charge about double their prices on NYE.

A little way out the centre? We stayed at the Etap at the train station. Impossible to find because the council or whoever dont allow signs for hotels etc and its set back from the road, and the rooms were the size of my left bollock.

Nah, basically right beside the center. 2 min walk to where the NYE celebrations were. Basically a straight drive down from train station, 3 mins in taxi

So we've just had yet more shootings happening in Paris, and now the MI5 chief has said that al-Qaeda terrorists from Syria are planning 'mass casualty attacks' in the west. What a world we live in.

2 separate hostage situations now in Paris. Both related. 1 is the 2 who shot up Charlie Hebdo and 1 is the lad who shot the policewoman yesterday, that's in a Kosher shop with multiple hostages and 2 dead apparently. Charlie Hebdo is 1 hostage in an industrial estate

Police stormed both. The 2 brothers are dead and their hostage escaped safely. Other guy is dead too but unsure on the hostages. Some are alive, some have bullet wounds.

The female suspect is still on the loose. There's a hostage situation at a jewellery shop in Montpellier at the moment, I think I've read it's unrelated to the other two.

Nah.

Shit like this will happen from time to time and it has been going on for a very long time. It's the unfortunate cost of a free and open society.
