A tough start to life in Iceland however it was expected as we went into the cup competition which was mixed with teams from both league competitions. However now I try and take on the league, after relegation last season for Vikingur R I was fully expecting and expected to take them back to the promised land of the top tier.


After a strong start to the season it soon went down hill and despite two wins we soon went on to fall to three defeats on the bounce to end the opening month of the league season.

A trip to KFS saw us kick of the Borgunarbikar cup competition and two goals either side of the break from Einarson saw us claim a two nil victory to progress into the third round.

Our only league win came as we travelled to Tindastoll where we left it late to come back and win. We trailed one nil at the break before Stefansson made it level nine minutes from time whilst Einarsson struck two minutes from time to secure the one.

A two one defeat at home against IR saw us fall to our first league defeat. We were poor throughout and a Petursson goal in injury time was just a consolation it seems.

Massive defeat in the cup third round against a strong Valur side seeing us crash out five two.

We then lost out six three away at BI/Bolungarvik. Another sloppy showing, neither side appeared to produced a defensive showing and this cost us big time.


An awful start sees us sitting down in ninth after the opening three league games with just three points. Even more surprisingly the league favorites side Grindavik sit two positions lower than us with just one point from three games. Its been a poor start but now we are out both cups I'm hoping we can press on.

Mixed start to the season but sometimes relegated teams do because they 'struggle' to adapt straight away, you'll turn it around fella, I'm sure.

With the league just a short competition and it spanning over a fair few months for the length of it we were set for just a short month of June. In fact, we faced just two matches and they came both at the start of June, could we turn our dodgy start around and press on to compete for that top spot in the league.


Two games, both at home but both varying for the performances. A good three two victory at home followed by a more than disappointing four nil defeat which really disappointed the board as well as the fans, in fact, myself too.

A three two win over Fylkir saw us look to return to winning ways well. An own goal and then second half goals from Einarsson and Petursson saw us claim all three points.

We then lost heavily at home against KA, four nil! Very disappointing! The board requested a meeting with me immediately after this defeat...


WOW! I'm actually shocked! I have been in charge of the club for about six months, but we've only been three months or so into the competitive side of the season and this is poor. The board requested their meeting. I apologised for our slow start and then I begged to keep my job, but nobby Bergbin Elosson clearly wasn't having any of it. Goodbye Vikingur R.

Wait, what? You have been sacked? What? You had only played five league games. Ridiculous decision.

Wow, don't remember ever seeing a sacking as quick as that!

Alveio, Johno, TheMazzeRunner, Sheednder and bmg033, I know what you mean, I feel very harsh done by being sacked so early! After they didn't care at all about the cup we played at the end of pre season as well it seems very strange!

Having been out of work for a whole year now, I feel finally the right job came about and it was in the Czech Republic. With no job offers throughout the year despite applying for the vacant Spurs job and being laughed off, I'm hoping I can do the job here and avoid the sacking, however I've been sacked twice in my last three jobs...


Sparta Praha! A big job and a great opportunity thats for sure! After leading them to their latest league title their previous manager decided it was time to step down, or retire, I can't really remember which one, but that opened up the job which i applied for, clearly impressed in the interview and was offered the job. A great transfer budget to work with as well.


And it would definitely appear I've hit the ground on my feet here, as I said the previous manager just won the league which proved to be their sixth league title in the past seven seasons, now all I need to do is try and retain the title for another year. Viktoria Plzen struggled big time it would seem this season.

I've done next to nothing this summer in charge of Sparta Praha, I had a little over a month until the league season was set to start, I also had the super cup to look forward to as well as a couple friendlies, but first I will show you the squad I have here.


I have a very good squad at my hands here and its a squad that I'm expecting to do big things this season, with me needing all four trophies here in Czech Republic with this being my first trip, I'm in great shape to tick three of them off in my first visit which could see the Czech completed very quickly, but more on that throughout the season.


My assistant done a great job at arranging friendlies, clearly! Its not even worth looking into them.


Trophy one ticked off! No contest really, the Superpohar final against FC Banik Ostrava saw us sail to a two nil victory in my first competitive game in charge and lift my first Czech Republic trophy. Fikejz netted before the break whilst Verbir netted in the second half, sealing a dominant two nil win.

Despite a quiet summer for me I had got off on the right foot in the competitive side of things as we scooped the Superpohar over Banik Ostrava last month. I was hoping we could get off to a great start to the league season and really press on early on as we faced a busy start to the league season with cup fixtures too.


A very good start to the league season thats for sure. We have performed brilliantly, whilst we've only kept one clean sheet and that came in the cup with a dominant showing, our league form has been almost perfect, plenty of goals thats for sure. But no clean sheets as mentioned and we also lost away at Banik Ostrava which unsettled the nerves a little.


And we still haven't started the season the best from the opening six games. We have started second best, sitting a point behind Slovan after the opening six games, we are then two points clear of Viktoria Plzen. Most goals scored but we've failed to keep the tightest defence to date.

A great start to life in all competitions it would seem but nothing short of expectations thats definitely for sure. The board expect success and I epected to deliver it as well. But could we keep the form going as we flew into September challenging for the top spot.


Oh, form has definitely just disappeared, apart from our league form everywhere else it slipped. We progressed through the third round of the Pohar Ceske Posty and then won the first leg of the Fourth Round. That saw us win our only games of the month. In the league we lost both games, including a one nil defeat against leaders Slavia Praha. We lost both our opening Champions League games too against Dortmund and CSKA Moscow.


Struggling a little in the league, we slip down to seventh place, surely I'm not facing another game where I can't hold onto a job and get sacked early! Only four points off league leaders and fierce rivals Slavia Praha. We must improve though!

It's getting difficult in the league here !

Sure is Alveio, not quite as straight forward as I imagined!

It was proving to be a lot more difficult here in the Czech Republic than I had anticipated. Having taken on one of the biggest and most succesful teams, at least in recent years I was expecting it to be straight forward in the league, however we were struggling and not picking up regular three points thats for sure.


Ah the form still isn't picking up and constant. We didn't lose in the league this month as we won two, beating Sigma Olomouc and Viktoria Plzen, however drawing with Slovan Liberec and Dukla Praha saw us drop valuable points. We lost narrowly to Real Madrid in the Champions League third group game. Finally we advanced to the Quarter Final of the cup as we beat Sigma Olomouc five two over the two legs.


Up to third and narrowly closing the gap, we need to be right back into this competition before the winter break takes place eight days into December! I will throw the November and December update into one as we face just one game in December, see what we can do with ourselves in the league this next month coming.

And so the final stint of the 2054 calender year was here with a handful of games to play in November and our final group game of the Champions League to face in December it made sense to throw the update into one. It was important we ended the calender year still sitting in contention for the league and picking our form up, whilst we were out the Champions League, a win there would be nice.


Perfect month in the league, a Champions League win too! We lost heavily to Real Madrid and then narrowly at home against Dortmund before we did gain a win beating CSKA Moscow in the final group game. The league saw us win to nil in all three of our games, beating Viktoria Zizkov, Pribram and Mlada Boleslav.


We sit up in third and at halfway through the season we really are back in contention now. We sit just a point behind second and third place sides however we do have a game in hand which could see us really crack on and move two points clear should all go to plan. I was fearing losing my job, now I'm confident in keeping it.


Well a catastrophic group stage for us! We had a very hard group in the first place to try and compete with but we played very poorly and this saw us finish bottom with just three points.

It certainly was hard Alveio but we didn't embarrass ourselves thats for sure!

Its tight at the top Johno, hopefully we push on in the second half of the season.

Happy New Year! Once again we roll into a New Year whilst the winter break was in place. We returned to competitive action in the late days of February but with only two games I thought I'd put it in with the March update which has given us a much better update to produce, could we continue our strong league march..


A lot more dropped points it seems as we returned to action with six games in the league and winning just three of them, losing two and drawing one of them whilst we also produced a goalless draw in the cup. We comfortably beat Slovacko six two and recorded comfortable wins over Jablonec and Banik Ostrava. Losing out against Taborsko and Teplice whilst Jablonec then held us to a draw at the end of the month in league action before we drew nil nil in the cup with Hradec Kralove.


Now trailing by four points over fierce rivals and league leaders Slavia Praha. Not sure if this is going to end up in our favour or not, we are certainly struggling a little bit this season to date and that means we are have just nine league games remaining this season!

You continue to plough away in an attempt to secure the league title, shame about those two defeats last month.

We've not played brilliantly this season Shedender yet still find ourselves in competition for the title!

Into April and as we nearing the end of the season we didn't really see any improvement as of late! Its close in the league going into the penultimate month of the league season we were about to see a great change in form as we battled through four league games as well as two more cup games as we really pressed on.


Well there we go! A near perfect month! We kick started it with a one nil win over Bohemians 1905 before we put a weakened side out against Hradec Kralove ahead of our cup game which followed we lost here four two, but we beat them there two one to head to the Semi Finals. We went on to beat league leader Slavia Praha with ease, winning three nil before we beat Sigma Olomouc three one. The month ended with a third clean sheet and second win this month over Bohemians 1905 as we won three nil in the first leg of the Semi Final.


Well here we go, the final run in! Five league games to go and we sit top just three points clear of Slovan Liberac as Slavia Praha slip from the top spot all the way down to third as it seems they may have just blown their chance of winning the league title. No one is relegated either yet at the bottom end of the league table.

May 2055 was here and it was the final month of the league and cup season, it could go on to see me tick off another two trophies here in Czech Republic if we can hold on to our form which we suddenly regained in April however the teams around us will also be pressing for the top spot knowing they are in touching distance now.


Well here was our form, not great at the start of the month right! We began May in very poor fashion. First off we drew one a piece at second place Slovan Liberec a second half penalty bringing us level. We then lost three two at home against Dukla Praha, a big set back for us. The defeat against Bohemians 1905 in the cup semi final didn't hurt us as we advanced four two on aggregate. But then came two much needed wins. Beating Viktoria Plzen three nil and then copying the score in the home tie against Pribram. The season came down to two games, the cup final against Slovan Liberec and the league title came down to the final day where we faced Viktoria Zizkov...


Ever so narrowly does it! We are champions of the Pohar Ceske posty as we beat Slovan Liverec two one here on the neutrals ground. We led after twenty five minutes through Verbir. It was all level five minutes before the break, but we kept fighting and it was Dimitrov who netted eleven minutes from time.


And just four days later, the 1. liga title was ours! Again we weren't brilliant as we travelled to FK Viktoria Zizkov and claimed a two nil victory. Luis Trujillo netted a fine brace with a goal after seventeen minutes and his second four minutes from time.


Here is confirmation, in the end we had a tiny bit of breathing space at the top of the pile, beating Slovan Liberec to the league title by just four points with Slavia Prague finishing in third, level on point with the second placed side! Its a job done and perfect.


Twenty ninth of May, the day the league title was won was also my last day in charge, the three trophies of the top tier here in Czech Republic are won, I now seek an adventure into the second tier where hopefully I can wrap up the Czech nice and quickly, but we'll see later on as we go. The stats are there, forty six games, twenty seven wins, seven draws and twelve defeats. Two cups and one league title the main talking point though! We are also just eight wins away from hitting one thousand!
