Apparently we've agreed a deal with Otamendi.

And Hummels is apparently staying with Dortmund.

Tbf Man Utd could do a lot worse business than letting De Gea go to Madrid for around 30m and getting Cech in for about 10-15.

I'm not too phased where Cech ends up personally. Replacing De Gea is more or less a like-for-like situation, it won't drastically change much for Man Utd. In saying that, if the club are going to sell him domestically then I'd be placing a higher fee on Cech than for a sale elsewhere. Though, would take £10-12m + either Ox or Walcott if Arsenal want him.

You seriously think anyone in their right mind would offer 10m AND Walcott or Ox for a 32 year old keeper?? We could easily get 20m for Theo and Ox is one of the last players I'd get rid of.

Hopefully the Jackson Martinez rumours are true. Not really seen much of him but if he bangs in goals at least it'd stop the stockholm syndrome for people who think Giroud is a good striker.

The Secret Footballer (aka Dave Kitson), reckons he's been told by a source that Arsenal offered £20m plus Walcott for Sterling which was immediately rejected.

Giroud is a good striker, he's just not one of the best in the world which is what Arsenal need.

Yeah I don't mind him as a backup striker as he gives us a completely different option and would have great impact coming off the bench. But some people on an Arsenal forum believe that he's better than fucking Lewandowski and Diego Costa.

Hopefully we can get Jackson, don't think we've got any chance of getting someone like Benzema.

Think I'd prefer Jackson than the Cavani we've seen over the last couple of years. Everytime I've seen him play he has been absolutely wank.

Younger tbf.

Both would be an improvement on Giroud. I think Arsenal need to be looking at a new CB too, and a proper DM.

I realise Coquelin is doing the business now but I think they're a world class DM, CB and ST from EPL winners/CL possible winners.

I'd be uncomfortable if the only backup for Coquelin is Arteta. Schneiderlin would be a perfect hybrid of the 2 aforementioned and will be a lot more useful in games where we need to control the game completely as Coq's distribution is beyond poor. I reckon Theo & Santi are off (can't see why Rosicky would stay otherwise). Flamini & Diaby also are set to be leaving the club too.

And I agree on a CB. Koscielny for me is the 2nd best CB in the Prem behind Terry, but Mertesacker, although great alongside him is still a worry. Gabriel has looked excellent whenever he plays so hopefully he can make the step up but I think we won't be in the market for one as we have them 3 and Chambers who will be a CB.

I also think we need another World Class winger, especially if Theo leaves. Oxlade-Chamberlain is fantastic but he's still young, if we ever managed to sign someone like Reus then push Alexis to the left then there's no reason why we shouldn't be challenging for the title next season. But tbh I expect at least a title push next season regardless of what happens in the market.

Not good enough to title challenge imo

I was very impressed by him when he joined. Slotted into the position like he's been here for years. He had two really unfortunate injuries but at least it helped Bellerin develop quicker. Can't wait to see him back in the team as he was the perfect right back for us and a steady ship in a really rocky defence at the start of the season.

Why?

All I said is that it would be the sort of offer I'd be happy to see accepted if we're going to sell to Arsenal. I wouldn't be selling Cech there on the cheap. And if what was reported the other day is true, it's something that has been suggested Chelsea want if we're going to sell a top player to a direct rival- wanting a good player back in return. Cech's age is rather irrelevant given his position. He could still potentially have another 5+ years of top quality football left in him. Of course, if Arsenal don't want a top keeper then they can continue to persist with what they've got, doesn't phased me.

I'm not too sure if I'm overly bothered. I look at more in the sense of how would be we strengthening a direct rival. Cech for De Gea wouldn't alter much in an overall sense, so there's probably little gained for Man Utd. If he went to Arsenal then that's a different story. He'd be a clear improvement on anything they've currently got and would solve an area they've struggled with for a bit now. Which is why I think trying to get someone like Walcott or Ox would help balance the scales.

I would say that remaining in London would give Arsenal the slight edge.

Mourinho doesn't think like that though, otherwise why would he have sold Mata to United. Doesn't seem to care about selling players to rivals

Selling Mata wasn't bad business. He didn't fit into Mourinho's system due to his lack of athleticism and defensive capabilities, thus found himself on the bench. Getting £37m for him was something we'd probably not have gotten from anyone else at the time, so it made sense. While Man Utd weren't going to be a immediate threat at the time, so it minimised the risk of having him come back to trouble us. All those points played a part in why we sold him to a rival, particularly that transfer fee.

As much as I love Mata, he's not lived up to the £37m price tag yet. Which is understandable given he was probably never worth that much to begin with.

Apparently the rumours started from a familiar Chilean ITK who did the same with Vidal last season.
