As I said in the post Shedender I am leaving it for now.

Well I've touched back down in Iceland, its been a while since I was here, in fact it was back in 2052/53 when I was last here, managing Vikingu R who went on to sack me after just over two hundred days. But now I'm hoping I've got a better job and one that I can make the most of it and finally secure my first trophy here in Iceland.


Stjarnan are a side that usually battle in the top tier of Iceland however have found themselves yoyoying between the two playable leagues. The board want us to challenge for the title and I'm more than up for that challenge!


Well, they currently sit down in seventh place after seven league games having picked up ten points. This leaves us eight points off the top two but thats a gap I'm more than happy with and that I think we'll be able to catch up with. I'll update at the end of the season with us having just fifteen league games to play through.

The season has come to an end here in Iceland, it was never going to be a lengthy update with just fifteen league games left to play here and no cup games what so ever left on the agenda al our focus was league based. Having picked Stjarnan up in seventh place it was now time to aim for the top two finish and try earn us that promotion spot.


Well this is the form we've managed to put together as we strolled past our final fifteen league games to end the season. Nine wins, three draws and three defeats, those three defeats all coming in a row. But all in all some great form we managed to put together, five wins on the bounce at one stage of the season as well.


Not enough to be named champions but enough for us to go up as runners up as we secured second place by seven points whilst finishing second behind Leiknir. R by just three points and a worse goal difference. But promotion is promotion and on to the top tier we go where I plan to stay here, unless a better offer arises.

Wow, just spent my lunch breaks for the last two weeks reading all 52 Pages! Great effort and great commitment! Would love to see what you Steam playing hours is for the game. Tough luck with all the Swedish teams man! Just to add if you do a challenge like this again next year I have much preferred the updates since you started doing it half yearly rather then monthly. Much easier to read in my opinion.

Hope you stick with this as you are well over half way now. Plus if you get demotivated Australasia would be and easy Continent to tick off. Will keep following now I have caught up. Best of luck!

Thanks for catching up Dhendy91, really appreciate anyway taking time out to read through all of this. I too prefer the half term updates so will do this from the start next year on the new version should I take on this challenge again. I have already defeated both Australia and the whole of Asia.

Stjarnan - Mid Season Update 2097

Well we are halfway through the season in our return year to the top flight, the Pepsi-Delidin and its not been too bad this year, not great but we weren't going to be record breakers this year. With two cup competitions in play and the league already, we've played plenty of football here in Icelands top tier


The pre season cup came into play early, the Delidabiker which we were drawn into group B. We started immensly with a superb ten two win. We went on to end our group with four wins, two draws and one defeat seeing us top the group. We faced FH in the Quarter Finals, they knocked us out three nil and went on to retain the trophy for another year.


Dissapointed with this, we beat HK in the third round and that should of set us up for a long cup run, but then going out to non league side Magni cost us any chance of silverware this season! But allows us to stay focused on the league survival.


Our league form hasn't hit any great run at all thats for sure. We've struggled to get going and only picked up a handful of wins so far this season....three in fact along with one draw. All the rest of the games we've played so far this season have been defeats in the league and not great at all.


Our league position replicates our poor league form with us struggling down in ninth place. We were never expected to go hunting for the top spot, the board want us to fight off any chance of relegation whilst we are currently sitting above the relegation zone by just goal difference. And a point keeps us off the bottom spot.

Stjarnan - End Of Season Update 2097

And so the season has come to an end here in Iceland, my first in the top flight I believe and it didn't get any easier in the second half of fixtures thats for sure. We had eleven games to try and turn our form around and take us away from that relegation zone, I've come under pressure and had a board meeting however survived till the end of the year.


We returned to pick up two wins to kickstart the second half of the league season and I thought things were really turning then. However that it was not, we went on to win just one more after that, draw two and lost the remaining seven games as we failed to get on that streak.


Well we'd go on to survive in this division by the skin of our teeth. We survived with a better goal difference and one point over eleventh place Valur in the end. Leiknir R. finished rock bottom and five points away from saftey in the end. I was happy with surviving, at times it looked like we were going down.


I have resigned from the club, the board had a meeting with me at the end of the season, wanting ten points from our first five games next season, I wasn't confident in delivering that but agreed. My contract ran out at the end of October and the board didn't renew it, placing me on a 'month to month rolling contract' I wasn't happy with this so stepped down instead.

A Jackpot Job - 22nd January 2098

I've been able to land probably the biggest job here in Iceland and one that should be straight forward for me to hopefully tick off the country this year, if not next year without a doubt all going well. The job became available after the previous manager decided to step down.


FH is the team! The team that did the quadruple last season in the domestic league and hopefully I can continue this fate of the club! The manager resigned on such a high note. I've been given half a million pounds to spend and the board are expecting us to retain that league title that FH haven't lost since 2056, forty two consecutive league titles on the bounce surely I can't mess this dominant reign up?


The squad I've taken on is very pleasing on the eye, it all seems okay to me, I've got the money to improve the squad should I feel I need to however its done the job over the last few years so hopefully I can help do it once again. Both keepers are currently injured so will seek a quick replacement. Everywhere else we seem okay.

Iceland is a nice country to manage a team. I liked Faroer more, but Iceland is a good second best. Not much rules and great Scandinavian players to sign.

I've not been on Susie much recently but I've just had a catch up on your career mate, albeit with the help of your career summery on the first page rather than reading all fifty odd pages! Amazing stuff, well done.

FH - End Of Season Update 2098

I accidently missed the halfway stage of the season so decided to update it as a whole season update and with Iceland being a fairly short season, twenty two games in fact, it was easier to do it this way as a one off. I took charge of FH after the previous manager took the domestic quadruple and won five league titles in as many years along with ten cup competitions, I've had a lot to live up to but hopefully I can achieve it here. It seems the easiest job to take on.


The pre season cup was an ease through to the Final. We bossed our group in the Delidabiker, group B didn't really challenge us. It was only fellow finalist Fylkir who took a point from us in the group with us picking up nineteen points from a possible twenty one on offer and just conceding three goals through the group. We then bossed Grindavik off the park, winning five two in the Quarter Finals. KR fell short to us in the Semi Finals two minutes from time to set us up with Fylkir in the Final.


We hit the jackpot of winnings by scooping this competition! A full thirteen pounds were ours as we beat Fylkir in the Final, winning three one. We took the lead in the fourteenth minute, only for six minutes though as we were pulled back level However two goals just before the break helped us secure my first trophy here.


Before we even kicked a football in the league I had my second trophy under wraps here as we beat KR in the Frabaer Bikar, also known as the Super Cup. We beat them by a single goal to nil as Sigurosson netted for us four minutes after the restart.


A third cup competition was ours, this time it came down to a shootout. We completely flew through this competition without even conceding a goal. We reached the final, once again facing Fylkir and this time we beat them on penalties, winning four three and a third trophy was mine! I just required the League Title now..


A pretty good league season if I do say so myself. We were unbeaten for fourteen games to kick off our league run until we eventually crashed to defeat, our second half of the league season wasn't quite the same, we fell to a few draws however just one league defeat all season definitely pleased me the way it was going.


Iceland completed and with ease! The league title was ours, I replicated the previous managers final season in charge, scooping all four domestic trophies as we sailed to a ten point lead in the league and beat KR to the title. We scored the fourth most in the league but possibly the tightest defence I've ever had, conceding just eight league goals in twenty two games.


We've had some European football on the agenda too and all has gone very well in this years European competition to date. An easy first round saw us sail to a seven one aggregate win. We then beat Partizan on away goals before Basel knocked us out and into the Europa League where our first group game in England saw us win one nil!


And so after two hundred and forty nine days its job done, forty five games played, thirty five games won with six draws and just the four defeats!! One hundred and one goals scored, conceding just twenty five along the way which left a superb plus seventy six goal difference. Three cup competitions, one league title.

I've taken out the Iceland leagues as well as the Russian second division as thats also been one. I am also tempted to take out Sweden as I'm not getting anywhere there just at this moment in time...

The New Setup - 20th June 2099

Throughout my lengthy career here I've tried to keep you up to date with whats happening with the leagues I load and delete out, well here is the current set up I'm running as of the 20th June 2099. I've removed the second tier in Russia having already won it, took our Iceland as well as Sweden as I just couldn't make progress there. Instead I've kept Italy loaded and the Russian top tier whilst adding in both France and Germany, giving me a chance to tick off the big five European countries as England and Spain have already been defeated as well as Isreal, why? Why not!

You'll have to shows us your manager stats when you reach 2100, bet they're insane!

I can't seem to get around this as it stands I've tried loading a previous save up and adding in the leagues again but it won't let me get past this date! I'll keep playing around and hopefully eventually bypass the error. Next update may take some time due to trying to get this sorted however if all goes well I can hopefully update later...

Shite man, hope you can get that sorted and continue this epic career.

Oh crap Hopefully this can get fixed.

I can't get around it with everything I've tried, anyone recommend anything at all?

Is there anyone at SI you could send it to that could have a look at it?

Could it be a database issue? Like having too many loaded in to the system would cause it to crash after so many years?
