If you're bitter or deluded you could think that.

I'd have to be an Arsenal fan to be either of those

You could make a decent Premier League team with the players that have left Southampton in the last 12 months.

Boruc, Shaw, Clyne, Chambers, Lovren, Alderweireld, Schneiderlin, Cork, Lallana, Lambert, Osvaldo.

Going to be tough for them to recruit as well as they did last summer and with Europa League football added in, it could be a very long season for them.

Saying he could very well end up at Villa in a few years is me being bitter? Okay then.

Uniteds signings are scarily impressive

He was the best young player in Europe literally a year ago. He leaves for a better team and he's suddenly going to flop.

It's a good move for Sterling, City and Liverpool.

Yeah, considering he's the European Golden Boy and by far England's best prospect, you sound a bit ridiculous mate.

I never said hes 100% going to flop but its not exactly ridiculous to suggest he could end up in a shit team in a few years especially if he lets it all go to his head

Have to say i don't agree that one good season makes you worth £49m, but if that's the going rate for a half decent English youngster then Harry Kane must be near the £80m mark.

Now for some Arsenal news as its gone a bit quiet recently.

Sums up a lot of Liverpool fans and some ex-Liverpool players who went from loving him and proclaiming him to be a future English legend, now he's shit, overpriced and they're better off without him. So much delusion.

Meanwhile somebody is very proud of himself:

How did that cunt manage to sign Schweinsteiger when he can't even get a proper tailored suit.

The business United are doing makes me increasingly nervous about our own. I worry that Wenger might be content with what he's got which would be a disaster.

Utd just seem much more organised.

They know exactly what positions they need and they've just went out and filled them without messing about.

Now they have the chance to sit back and see who becomes available, knowing they have the important ones done.

Very much back to the Fergie days.

Yeah pretty much spot on.

Maybe need a striker as backup to Rooney and Wilson, but we're pretty much sorted and crucially before preseason has begun.

We definitely need a CB still but yeah pretty much.

That said, up until a week ago places like redcafe were in meltdown because we hadn't done any business since Depay. No reason why Arsenal can't get in what they need quickly.

I'm not all that concerned with what Man Utd have done in the market thus far. While those signings should improve them as a side, the defence is still weak looking and between the sticks remains an unknown. Schweinsteiger will only be a good signing if he can stay fit, something he's struggled with of late. He'll be solid without being spectacular if so. In ways, his move reminds me similar to that of Ballack's. They've done well though to bring in a few solid players, but some key areas remain. Not sure if it will be enough to close a 17 point gap though.

On the Chelsea front, getting a little impatient with the lack of players we've brought in. I know the pool of quality players within the transfer market is quite small, but still, I'd have expected something at little more.

Really think fans are only excited about the Schweinsteiger deal because of who he is, rather than thinking how he'll have any real impact on the team. Which i honestly feel he will not, can see him struggling and being another Falcao.

I'd like to liken it with the Micheal Ballack to Chelsea deal rather than he fancied one last big pay off before he retired, He's going to be a massive influence in the dressing room which is going to be vital now as the squad is rather short of experienced title winners with only Rooney and Carrick left from that wonderful night in Moscow.

Edit: Bollocks didnt see that .Verse had already mentioned the Ballack thing!

Saw on Twitter that Nicolas Otamendi has gone on strike to force through an MUFC move.

Might work for the defensive improvement lark.

The Liverpool statement:

Liverpool Football Club can confirm Raheem Sterling has completed a transfer to Manchester City.

The 20-year-old departs Anfield after 129 appearances and 23 goals for the Reds.

Liverpool FC wishes Raheem well.

Very heartfelt.

Really looking forward to seeing him play at City. I think he'll excel there and it would be hugely beneficial for the England team.

Tbh I'm looking forward to the new season, even though our rivals have signed some quality players I'm looking forward to see them kick ball. Could be one of the most exciting Prem seasons ever in regards to the title contenders.

I know. But still, most clubs pretend at least, Liverpool couldn't be arsed and yeah who can blame them.

Jenkinson has gone back to West Ham on loan. Does he have much of a future left at Arsenal?

Thank god Sterling is gone, would of rather seen him move to a different country than a fellow premier league team because thats going to back fire but with his attitude and his agent being a nob it was good to see Liverpool finally accept a deal and get the crying mess out of Anfield, hopefully someone else will fill his boots, not that there was much to fill last season!

I hope he carries on from last season and fails miserably for the rest of his career, never liked him and never will.

You talk a lot of sense VP.

But no seriously, I think he'll start on the bench and will have to work to get into the team. Depends on what system City play, but hes best in the same position Silva plays (or used to play, I've not seen them that much last season). He could very well link up good with Aguero though

Now to splash that 49 million on about 5 players
