The first one was soft as well for the penalty

Did he get booked for that? Thought he was booked before then

Mourinho and his future

There is plenty of evidence that Mourinho is not happy. His body language has been mentioned by a close friend of his as a clear suggestion he is not as sparky as he normally is. His battle with the B team coach seems a diversion of other problems (on the pitch mostly, where this season the team is unable to raise their game when they are tired or unmotivated as the coach himself admitted some players were earlier in the season, or when they attack organized deep defences).

That confrontation with the B team coach, unresolved yet, was a Mourinho test to the club –and the answer of the board and president was to back the B team coach. Nobody wants to move anything now, as nobody at the club is certain what José is going to do next.

Guillem Balague on Sulia.

Real Madrid dropped 14 points in the entire 2011/12 La Liga season. They've already dropped 13 in 13 games. Blimey.

Gonna throw this in here cos I don't think it would fit the "Politics Thread"

Spain vs. Catalonia

Xavi vs Iniesta would be like dividing by zero. Although, talk is that Iniesta would switch nationalities to Catalan.

I can imagine Pedro probably would too, would certainly give that weak looking frontline a boost with those two in it.

It's embarrassing really that Spain have two sides from a similar size population that would give England a spanking.

I'd love to see a mini-tournament between Spain, Catalonia and the Basque regions.

That's an outstanding idea but most likely a riduculous political nightmare like you said initially

Well Catalonia play unofficial 'friendly' matches occasionally against random nations (Argentina and Tunisia recently), but I guess the politics of Catalonia vs. Tunisia is a lot more straight-forward than a match between Catalonia and Spain

Not really. You're probably thinking of Pellegrini at Malaga.

Think player discipline let him down, the amount of cards they have got this season. he might have set them up to play more physical but you can get booked for anything in Spain.

I wonder if Pep will take over temporarily. Seems right that this would be the only reason to end his sabbatical

I think it'll be either Pep or Luis Enrique.
