Fantastic
I want to buy a two bedrooms or more flat (or house) which is in an area of your city which might cater to students.
I've been doing some research into Liverpool because the prices are dirt cheap but I'm not too sure the kind of people I'm looking at want to be living by Anfield. Or maybe they do, I don't know. I just assume that people want to live as close to the centre as possible because that's where all the action is.
Can anyone who lives up north, or in an area where they think has good value for money, give me some advice on areas to look at?
Franck
Brum is very student orientated as it has two universities (UCE & Aston) As for areas I would personally suggest Erdington or Bourneville.

I am indeed. But I figure it would be sensible to invest in a property so that when I get back I haven't blown it all up my arse.
My sister lived in Clifton when she was at Bristol, it's meant be very nice, right? And probably quite expensive then too...

By complicated what do you mean? I'm pretty sure it's like the rest of the uk but with slight differences.

It is a nice area, but the houses are all quite victorian/georgianish and I've seen a fair new in a state of disrepair (literally 2 minutes from the Uni). Depending on costs, a flat or couple of flats might be within your price range. If you aim at the luxury market, there are some Bristol students that have far too much money.

Tell me what you want to know,

Yeah it's usually offers over £££k usually your solicitor suggests bidding at that price. It's pretty straight forward never hear of anyone getting done.

Flash.
Expensive though. A one bedroom apartment near the city starts from about £300k.

For 100k you could purchase a house between 4-5 bedrooms and charge £60 per week to tenants (more if you want to put them in an all inclusive scheme.)

Definitely. For a very small two bedroom flat in the city centre my mates are paying £750pcm. Absolutely extortionate. But being the big oil city, you can't expect anything else.
Also when the Oil conference is being held over the week, so many people are desperate for rooms that I've seen family friends renting out rooms for huge amounts of money!
