Data Update Poll!
Hello, there is currently an important debate going on regarding how to manage the FM24 Data Update going forward, particularly in the case of modifying the ages and contract dates by 1 year. Please can you vote in the poll and join in the discussion.

Pleaseeeeeeee can we drop Rooney. So slow, slowed down our attack.

Problem is is that basically any team can just come and be really unambitious and sit deep and we've got more chance of committing a fuck up defensively and losing than we do winning. Finding a way to consistently win these sorts of games is our biggest problem.

Like early in the second half I think Martial played a ball in and no one attacked it. They blamed Herrera and not our striker Rooney. Is he immune to criticism because he's England's top scorer? Absolutely ridiculous. If he wasn't our captain he would have been dropped long ago.
Carroll.
You were slightly better but still both teams were happy to have men back and hardly commit much forward. I don't think City had one shot in the second half other than Navas basically passing it to De Gea?
I can understand away teams sitting back and trying to hit on the counter but City didn't even try to do that. Absolute awful game.

Pretty much.

I think they did, but Rojo and Valencia both had outstanding games (probably Rojo's best in a United shirt) against their full backs and Schneirderlin was all over the midfield so I think we smothered what they were trying to do really well.
We basically rely on our four forward players to provide out attacking impetus and when two of them have bad games (Rooney and Mata) and Herrera gets crowded out we're always going to struggle.

Time for Mane to destroy Liverpool now.
Carroll.
Sam
I'm not that bad am I?
Ninja
He's fucking quality to be fair.
It's Sam's wanking over Memphis which is weird.
Sam
Stop commenting on my wanking habits.
But tbf Memphis has been poor, that wanking has been toned down. However he will be amazing.

Biggest problem for us was the lack of any real threat going forward. Partly because United defended well, but also because Sterling and De Bruyne - easily our most dangerous player - were moved to accomodate Bony and Touré, who were largely crap. Too slow, too clumsy and nowhere near sharp enough. We would have been far better off with Sterling up front, De Bruyne on the left and Navas on the right, unfortunately Pellegrini stopped that from happening by taking off Sterling instead of Bony.
Good to see Kelechi make another appearance though, should be getting more minutes if Bony continues like this.
Carroll.
What a header from Benteke, should hopefully open the game up

He gave away a penalty on Wednesday and I don't recall that happening. But the reason you're seeing a lot of praise for him is he's playing really, really, well, scoring goals, and beating players for fun.
You're acting like its all a big conspiracy to trick the footballing world into thinking that he's good when he's actually been shite, but its simply that he's been really good. The second he stops being very good you'll stop hearing the praise.

In fairness you all pretended Depay was great for a few weeks. Martial is the player you pretended Depay was. Martial is fucking great though. Remember the Martial v Origi comparisons?
Excited for Kane to beat him in all of the awards for the next ten years.
Ninja
I think it was more optimism than anything with Memphis, helped by the fact that he played well against Brugge (who were fucking shite) early on. Not sure if I really see it with him tbh, but I hope he proves me wrong, he doesn't strike me as the prodigiously talented youngster that some would have you believe he is. His attitude stinks, too, from all accounts.
Poe
Play like that every week and we'll be midtableish, whereas if Sunderland play like that every week they'll get relegated.
However no complains from me regarding the pen, thought the red was slightly harsh though.
Cattermole should have been at least booked, he committed more fouls than our entire team and wasn't booked wheres we ended up with 2 yellows and a red.
Carroll.
Not claiming any conspiracy but United fans are overrating him as fuck. He was average yesterday (granted he played on the wing) and all Im seeing is praise for him. If youre happy with average performances then fair enough
VP.

You must have missed the City defence shitting themselves every time he ran at them, then. Which is odd, because it was about the only interesting thing to happen in the game.
(And also, yes, he's being praised because he's a direct contrast to how poorly Rooney is playing, as well, so overtime Martial does something well its an implicit stick to beat Rooney with)
Carroll.
He's a decent lad don't get me wrong, but his price tag and the fact everyone was taking the piss over it seems to make United fans give him some rather heightened praise.
Ninja
I think its the opposite, actually, I think the fact that his price tag was so high has made people desperate to see him fail so they can take the piss out of us and the idea that, actually, from everything we've seen so far, he's brilliant has been hard to stomach.
