I suggest everybody clicks the "Notify me when updated" button to receive an email when the file is updated/amended in the future.
This file will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2016 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, with 26 media files added to encompass all major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all these files to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Magrippinho very helpfully created a YouTube video on how this file should be installed. Some of the contents are different - but the procedure is identical, although of course you use the equivalent folder for FM16.
Or, you can follow the below instructions to install this version of this file
Step 1: Go to
PC
Slightly more detail in this post
Linux
Android:
Step 2: Delete the dbc, edt and lnc folders from the path above
Step 3: Copy the dbc, edt and lnc folder from this download into the folders mentioned in step 1.
Step 4: Go to:
Step 6: Keeping the folder in step 5 open, go back to the file you downloaded and select the folder named "FM16 Real Names Fix Files from sortitoutsi.net v2.1".
Step 7: Paste the circled folder directly into the folder mentioned in step 5.
Take care to remove any previous versions of this file
Step 8: This should be what your editor data folder looks like. There may also be a config.xml file in this folder and can be safely retained; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly. Club names (including the German ones) are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in FMC. There's a workaround for that in the first post.

That's not a very helpful post. I'm not a guru for all the names in the world. What errors are these? If you tell me what they are, then I'll do my best to fix them, if necessary.
The edt and lnc folders should be placed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2016 Beta\data\db\1601 folder or equivalent, and not the folder named updates (if that's what you've done). Ideally the edt and lnc folders are the same for both the 1600 and 1601 folders.
Again, I'm not a guru for all the news outlets of the world. If there's any mistakes, omissions or new entries that you would like to propose, then by all means post them in here and I'll do my best to fix them.
Erm, I've no idea what you mean by logos for news outlets to be displayed in the inbox - can you clarify please?

I don't have the beta but it looks like a new folder 1601 was created. You need to place the edt and lnc folders in this section as well.
As for the faces, then you may need to tick/untick the skin cache thingy in the preferences. Also, I would suggest you place your images in a separate folds altogether. Otherwise, the config'll get overwritten every time a new update pack is released. Plus, the images you have added need to be png's. This is not really the thread to deal with these kinds of issues, so post in the technical support thread in the cutout forum if you have any further queries...

Yes, it should. Although you may need to re-apply the files and there will be a small number of club name changes still pending.
I hope to have a new version of this file tomorrow evening, or as quickly as possible after the editor is released.
Nope, I'll probably need the editor to see what the issue is there.
Then you haven't placed the lnc folders in the 1601 path.

The Football League will become the English Football League http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10064629/football-league-to-become-english-football-league-for-201617-season
logos like this for news beside the name but it isnt a big problem i'll see what i can do later ..

The Football League renaming will happen in 2015/16. There is no way to set a competition name change for a particular year, so it'll remain the way it is until the competition changes its name formally next season - and this will be reflected in the FM17 version of this file.
The FA Cup name change is already in this file

I would suggest that you do, yes.

It was my bad, sorry. I could not explain the problem correctly.
The problem is actually about "Turkish Language Character Names", for example the turkish letters like "İ,Ç,Ğ.." does not seen in the names. They are just like a rectangle.
Also thanks for this reply, you are very kind.
Will be there a new version with full game?

And if you can point out which entries suffer this problem, then perhaps I can fix them by then

Sorry for the question. I am not quite understanding.
In the game folder db 1600 / db1601 (which one do I use?) I see that there are folders dbc, edt & lnc. edt and lnc folders I get it it, simple just overwrite these folders with the ones from your patch.
What I don't understand is what happens with the dbc folder in the game? The patch doesn't have a dbc folder in it just a 'FM 16 real names fix'. I am not sure what to do with this. Can you explain this to me like I'm 5 years old?
So sorry for the what is no doubt a silly question, but I'm confused!
Thanks in advance.

Use the DB you are going to use to create your game.
I just started a new game and I replaced the files in the folder 1601 as it seems to be the one the full game is using, 1600 being for the beta.

Can I start a new game now with the beta pack and then when you are done with the new pack, I'll just download it and copy paste over the beta pack. Will it work? Or I'll have to start a new game with the new pack?
Thanks
Ichwan Elfajrie
I think, you should start the new game if you want to use the new pack.
