Coutinho's match plan:

- Backheel
- Beat a man
- Dribble a bit
- Ignore all teammates
- Blast one from 35 yards
- Rinse & repeat

Corrected.

He's amazing to watch when he's on song but when he's like this he's fucking awful.

We were shit tonight. Considering how much "quality" there supposedly is in Firmino, Coutinho, Can etc they fucking lost the ball over and over. Benteke was decent but we're just not playing to his strengths, so frustrating to watch. I don't even mean drilling in crosses cause he was shit in the air tonight, but just fucking play it to him rather than Coutinho trying to force it into the middle through a crowd and then having a shot every time.

Fucking had Benteke at 11/1 to score 2, so how the fuck did he miss the one on one. Prick.

If we lose to Swansea, which we have done for the last 3 times we've played them, and results go against us. We could be 10th by the end of the next match day.

And to think, at the start of this run we were top of the league.

Sorta, but I think it's being exaggerated.

From the West Ham game onwards, coinciding with Rooney's injury, we started creating a few more chances, being a bit more leaky at the back, and finishing like a bunch of retards. We then got a ton of injuries to all our defenders which was responsible for the Bournemouth and Norwich losses (alongside the aforementioned finishing like a bunch of retards) and then looked half decent against Stoke in the 2nd half when they sat off us and played on the counter, without really creating anything, and had a 20 minute spell against Chelsea similar to how we started our game against you, before petering off into mediocrity.

Tbh, the only reason we drew against Chelsea was because of how shit they are. If Van Gaal's still here, baring more expensive recruitment, I certainly can't see us beating you or Liverpool away in mid-Jan and we'll make hard work of Swansea and Sheffield United too.

You realise we're in the worst form in the league right?

Even Villa have picked up more points than us this month.

Add to that fact that we've been inconsistent at best away from home under Van Gaal and I can't see it. We honestly could lose to anyone right now.

We've become quite good at conceding goals and are still very bad at scoring them, its not a very good combination.

So was Van Gaal right to basically shut up shop and drag Man Utd to a respectable position by being so incredibly dull? Like a high end Pulis

The problem with the start of the season wasn't that we were particularly defensive, I have no idea where that criticism came from in the media, its that we did everything so god-damn slowly, avoiding all risk, that meant pretty much every team could settle into a defensive shape and make us toil to break them down which, more often than not we couldn't do. So we'd rack up 65%+ possession passing around teams in the final third with players too scared to try something. All of our games developed into slow motion attack vs defence. Doesn't help that we've got no one in midfield who can penetrate from midfield, Carrick's been the best we've had for that over the years but he's been dire all season. And our attack has been shit (but thats Van Gaals fault, we all knew we were light up there).

The improved defence was down to Smalling being fantastic, Schneiderlin doing his job perfectly, and Blind's impressive early season form. It's been shit recently because of injuries mostly and Blind's loss of form but I genuinely don't think we were playing in a way to make them look better than they are.

I just don't know really, I'm pretty certain that passing the ball really slowly from side to side isn't Van Gaal's 'philosophy' but he's had 18 months now, and I'm not sure what exactly it is and neither, it seems, do the players. Why it should in the next year and a half of his contract I don't know, and considering that any argument for 'stability' or whatever is keeping him in a job goes out of the window when you realise he's being replaced either way by the end of next season, I don't really know why he's still here.

Am I the only one he really thinks that Spurs have a real chance of winning the title? They are playing great football and are right up there, and I can see Arsenal dropping off due to injuries and City as well, especially with Kompany out for another month!

Lets wait to see what happens to the likes of Leicester and Tottenham when there is real pressure on them towards the end of the season if they're still up there. Also we're looking very likely to actually strengthen our squad one way or another in January, plus when you look at the players we have to come back we can only get stronger, not weaker (providing we have no more injuries of course!). My main concern is the games we have left, as we have most of the 'bigger' sides still to play away from home.

Not saying that you won't win. I think you are doing great this season but not good enough. I got to the point where I just don't think Arsenal can do it. Although, if you stay away from injuries and make the right transfers, you should really win it easily! No team is preforming well over a long period and someone has to capitalize on that.

Yes, we aren't ruthless enough when it matters most. Another good striker is desperately needed incase Kane gets a lengthy injury and I don't see why we dont just go all out for someone like Lacazette or maybe even Pato, just as long as its not Berahino. 4th is probably the best we can do this season but it really wouldn't surprise me if we ended up down in 6th or something.

They should have been miles ahead of the others, who have been terrible. And the difference between them is 4 points. Just shows you how bad the league is this season. I expected one of the bigger team to actually manage and get a lead on the others. Seeing as I count Arsenal as one of those bigger teams, I think they haven't done enough, as they are joint top and only 4 points ahead of fourth. Spurs who aren't, are four points off first which is a great place for them. It all depends what you think the team is capable of doing really.

God i hope Klopps being given some money to sign some players this month, also Coutinho flattering to deceive once again, currently working on a 1 game on 10 games off ratio.
