Went for Lacazette 2 weeks ago to be told he's staying at Lyon til the end of the season so we try again to be told exactly the same thing.

Who makes these decisions and how much are they getting paid to make them and why haven't we replaced them with a giraffe yet?

That Ramires move has absolutely nothing to do with FFP. Nope, completely legit

Definitely not

Strange as well.

As dirty as he can be Ramires imo is a quality player on his day and definitely got a good few years left in him.

He's a average player that possesses an incredible engine but the technique and execution of someone with two left feet. In a 433 he'd fit nicely as the box-to-box sort of player, but in a two man midfield he isn't solid enough to be a defensive player nor good enough to be reliable going forward. Of course he has his flashes of brilliance (CL goal vs Barca) but you'd have to be daft to turn down £25m for such a player who is also going to be 29 in March.

Exactly what are Newcastle fans complaining about in the transfer market at the minute?

You've spent £12m on Shelvey, another £12m on Townsend on top of the second highest net spend in the country, behind City, in the summer?

Surely you can't really be complaining about a lack of investment?

I think the fact they're spending £12m on Townsend in the exact reason they're complaining

£24m on Shelvey and Townsend is miles too much but they seem more like the kind of player that Newcastle should be going for. It was obvious that Cabella and Thauvin were going to fail. Especially Thauvin, I've no idea why they splashed out on him after seeing what happened with Cabella - they seem pretty much identical.

I agree that they're not particularly great players but if they were would they be going to Newcastle in the first place?

Its the same with the moaning about Charlie Austin. Is anyone really surprised he'd rather go to Southampton than Newcastle?

Its a relatively positive step for Newcastle fans that have long complained about buying cheap players from the continent who have by and large failed that they're willing to stump up the cash for players who aren't that, no?

Nobody is complaining about the lack of investment this season (well at least I hope they're not)

I'm complaining that we're still in dire need of a goalscorer and we're signing anybody but a goalscorer atm.

Yet seem willing to keep bidding/scouting Lacazette when he has no interest in coming here.

Move onto someone a bit shitter as we're not good enough for Lacazette.

That being said - this investment is long overdue, should have been done years ago.

Crystal Palace have signed Emmanuel Adebayor until the end of the season.

There's an option to extend by a year.

I don't know, Thauvin seemed to be an obsession for some reason. It looked like a wrong signing coming off a difficult season at Marseilles.

Newcastle were seemingly never in for Charlie Austin in this window. Which is baffling. But it's baffling for the other 19 clubs really.

Or maybe it's just a rumour? We're still being linked with Bafe Gomis ffs - I can't fathom that being true.

Even then two of the more persistent rumours are that Remy want's to come back but is waiting on Pato and that WBA have put a massive value on Berahino - those two have far more substantial weight behind them than Lacazette. The rumour is that Lacazette has changed his mind rather than Newcastle have bid again.

Paul Dummett has scored the same number of league goals as Alexandre Lacazette, Bafetembi Gomis, Loic Remy and Saido Berahino combined in 2015.

I'd be alright with Remy, provided we sign the one who scored a load in 2013 rather than the sulky tool from 2014. But agreed a striker is needed.

Townsend is a weird one - I think Matty Phillips (who is about £5-6m cheaper) would have been better, but he would be an improvement on Sissoko and Thauvin at least. In terms of Thauvin, I dunno - he was in the Worst Team of the Year from some French publications, who then found it hilarious we spunked £13m+Cabella on him. Cabella was a CAM we wasted out wide and then carried on his poor form when moved to his allegedly favoured position.

Ironically, I was wondering earlier if we're over-spending, given that (if Townsend goes through) we will have somehow spent £83million to end up in 18th.

£12m and a rumoured wage of £55k for someone that can't get a game ahead of Erik Lamela Thanks for the easy £££ Newcastle! He'll probably rip teams to pieces now i've said that...

You're forgetting he's English, that instantly adds 10million in value.

Ahmed Musa is being linked with a move to Leicester City, between him, Gray and Amartey they would have done an absolutely tremendous transfer window on FM. I'd imagine just about half their squad are due significant CA raises in the next patch too, they will be a scary, scary team once it is out.

Vardy and Mahrez are already just as good on FM as they are in real life tbf.

Only Simpson, Kante and possibly Drinkwater will get a CA rise.

Nah, I think both Mahrez and Vardy are due for increases Maybe just a few points here and there, but I'd be really surprised if they aren't improved. Have to remember that their attributes were set based mostly on a season where Leicester were shit, and the two of them only scored 8 goals in total.

Drinkwater is atrocious on FM right now, so I'd be shocked if he doesn't get a significant raise after the patch. Not that it'd matter too much as they'd still have Amartey who is an absolute beast.

We've completely fucked this Teixera deal, doing what fucking Arsenal did with Suarez and pissing about over a few million. Wouldn't be surprised if we missed out on him completely now.
