When you guys do data updates like let's say transfers, how come one doesn't update transfers with future transfers?

For example, let's say instead of having Jackson Martinez start a game (in September) in China, you make him transfer to China in January much like in real life? Whenever I update my database, I would do it this way so to make things as realistic as possible.

I realize it's not always easy and/or possible considering loans, etc. but I'd still say the overwhelming majority of transfers can be updated this way. Any reason why they aren't?

That seems rather ridiculous to start a game in September and play all the games only to have your striker sold out from under you in January because it mimics real life.

If the aim is to make the game as realistic as possible then I wouldn't say it's ridiculous at all, quite the contrary.
Again, it all depends on what one is looking for. I've always made my edits in that way to mimic real life.

I agree... I never understood why transfers weren't done on the dates they were transferred on... It's annoying and lazy... If you're going to do something - do it properly...

This has been discussed at length in other threads, regarding the same question.

Future transfers work in game, you can put them in the editor and they do the job well, this aspect would be good.. what lets this down though is you can't put future loans in the game, so an example would be Sandro at Queens Park Rangers went to West Brom on loan in January, we wouldn't be able to do that on the update, so what's the point of doing future transfers, as its still unrealistic?

You're right Jason, but I'd argue that being a little more realistic is better than not. When you look at it, neither way is realistic but including future transfers is more realistic and since people are editing those transfers anyways (already starting the game with a transfer that was done over the winter-break) I would then say why not do it in a way to make it more realistic.

Besides, like you said yourself: future transfers in the editor work and are realistic. The issue is not there but in future loans which can either be included or not.
