We f*cked up a 2-0 lead at Sunderland, quite disappointing but c'est le vie.

Tense as f*ck game but Liam Knight's second minute goal has given us a huge three points against Southend.

Really cannot handle the tenseness of this, could've ended up opening a five point gap but the side couldn't find a way through Wycombe. It's so tight at the top that we still haven't been able to secure a play-off spot but whatever happens, happens as we've had a tremendous season . . . for once.

F*cking dominated the second half at Oakwell but failed to make a break through and now it's back-to-back scoreless draws and the pressure is really beginning to show in my opinion. Ended up creating a staggering thirty two chances with thirteen of them being on target but just couldn't find a break through and I'm surprised the Barnsley 'keeper didn't win the Man of the Match award.

Absolutely pal, just a little frustrated we aren't further clear at the top because of those two frustrating 0-0's.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/RHE8ecqOwQN68xiCsTcwpCPsoWAFAzZ7QRC5FvEw.png

I'm returning the game to @Dan with only five league games remaining and the side feeling the 'pressure' of a potential and unlikely promotion to the Championship on the horizon but we are only one point clear of second placed Coventry due to our back-to-back scoreless draws and those three defeats in four earlier in the stint which didn't help matters but it's been a tremendous campaign at Luton Stadium.

We were predicted to finish down in sixteenth iirc, so to be top with five games remaining is quite tremendous. Dan has the pressure though because it's up to him to end our trophy drought when he'll take charge of our Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Blackpool at Wembley - we'll need to get the suits ready sir.

We're back among the trophies! My first game back at the helm of Luton saw us take on League Two side Blackpool at Wembley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, a seven goal thriller which we won four three to lift the trophy. Jamie Thomas opened the scoring after seven minutes, a lead we held for four minutes before Denton leveled for Blackpool. Thomas then restored our lead four minutes on Come the break we led three one with Ash on the scoresheet. Thomas secured his hatrick, however Blackpool went on to net two more to set up a nervy ending.

We held on though, for our first trophy in three and a half years.

We slipped down the table due to missing a game for the cup Final. But we keep the pressure on the teams who have jumped us for now with a four two win over MK Dons. We were two up in five minutes, led three nil in ten. Two goals from Manning, one from Ash and one from Thomas secured the three points.

A disappointing late defeat against promotion chasing Rochdale, could prove to be a huge blow. We lead two one with four minutes to play, our goals from Knight and Manning. However two goals in the final four minutes saw us blow our chances and lose out three two.

Costly defeat against playoff chasing Walsall, drops us down to third with one game to go. We keep our eyes on automatic promotion, the leagues tight, we can still win the league title, a minimum of playoffs is achieved though.

So going into the last league game of the season, we sat third, two points of league leaders Coventry and a point behind Oxford. We needed a win and could be crowned champions, one or both of the teams above us needed to slip up for us to earn promotion.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZtexUuAbZmc5jp08cyxHw7b0BKKAfW7or8p2oMg6.png

We done our part of it, a single Ryan Manning goal thirty three minutes in was enough to secure our fate for next season, as you can see promotion!

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tg3Efu2xj4w5EW3buZ6klMZbgwSN9QUodnaodlvP.png

It was Oxford who slipped up, they drew their last game of the season to see us head to the second place spot and tick off League One. A three and a half year trophy drought ended with a trophy and a promotion spot, technically ticking off two 'trophies' this time around.

Decided to bring Tom Carroll back to the club on another season loan.

Brand new left, on-loan from fellow Championship side Crystal Palace and he'll be a starter.

There was two signings arranged before I began taking back over this save - Alex Maxted joined from Huddersfield Town for £245k and Nigel Race arrived from another Championship side, and favourites, Newcastle on a free transfer.

New striker has come in on loan until the end of the season, he's eighteen and looks like he could be a starter.

And a new right back has also arrived at Luton Stadium.

It's a fourth loan signing of this transfer window and a new central midfielder as well who doesn't look too shabby.

Could be the last signing in this transfer window and yes, it's another loan signing - this time the defensive midfielder arrives from Premier League side Brighton.

Won't get carried away but we kicked off our Championship campaign in style with a fully deserved 3-1 success at home to another pre season relegation candidate in Bradford City. Eddie Scott scored twice on his debut at Luton Stadium while another debutent, Alex Maxted, also got on the scoresheet.

They may be struggling currently but we've just produced a superb 4-3 win at St. James' Park. Jamie McDonald (9), Richard Manning (40), Harry Brockbank (43) and Eddie Scott (59) were on target in what turned out to be a deserved win in the North East as we continue our tremendous start to the season.

After the high of winning at St. James' Park, it's back to the low as we lost the M1 Derby at home to Watford as the visitors took their chances but I've no complaints really as we're still beating our expectations (predicted to finish twenty third) thus far.

Oh my days, what a mixed match. We were two goals to nil up inside the opening twenty minutes away at Huddersfield Town and seemingly cruising towards three points, come the end we were holding on but managed to get them. Eddie Scott and Richard Manning the scorers.

And in my final game before sending this save to @Dan, we've produced an excellent display at home to a Burnley side who were in the Premier League only two seasons ago. The game ended 5-1 to Luton as Nathan Breeze, Jamie McDonald, Max Clayton and a double from Eddie Scott all scored at Luton Stadium.

Against perhaps all odds, it's been a tremendous start to the league campaign and it's amazing what confidence from last season can end up doing. I'll be sending the game over to my 'colleague' with the club lying up in second place (twenty one positions higher than our media predication) but I'm sure we'll end up going on a bad run as the 'bubble' will perhaps end up bursting. But we'll enjoy this season while it lasts.
