Aye Batistuta is a monster, I'm hoping to get him at somepoint too. One of my all time favourite players
SpinSwimScream
Elsewhere Blackburn have just spent big on Dwight Yorke, Robert Pires went to Juve and Andriy Shevchenko has just joined Coventry!
SpinSwimScream
Wow... speechless. Absolutely MASSIVE win, especially not conceding an away goal Zizou had a shocker
Elsewhere Newcastle must be buzzing to have Shearer back from injury. A brace from him downing Madrid
SpinSwimScream
With City currently in Division 1 I got my first chance at derby when I drew them in the cup. Nice to give them a bit of a slapping.

The Great Dane plays a blinder in Turin and we're through to the Semi's
Well there you go, into the Semi's also... just
Buzzing after this, we've eliminated arguably the favourites for the competition and the only team I fear left in it are Barca who we were unbeaten against in the group stage... granted we didn't beat them either

In other news Spurs win the League Cup, beating Newcastle on penalties.
SpinSwimScream
A drab game with few chances. Gonna need to pull our fingers out at Old Trafford in the return leg.
Elsewhere a Pep Guardiola goal gives Barca the advantage in the other tie
SpinSwimScream
Wimbledon came down with the Christmas decorations and quickly fell away. Whilst we have gone completely unbeaten since the last update, until the Monaco game anyway. 8 Wins and 2 Draws in the league has seen us open up a healthy 7 point lead over Chelsea with a game in hand. The defence continues to be pretty solid and Bakayoko and Cole in particular have been scoring a lot of big goals. Can I achieve a treble a year before Fergie managed it?... My next few games are massive
SpinSwimScream
Solskjaer, who hasn't played much this season, steps up when we need him to. Coming off the bench to send us into the FA Cup Final
Spurs and Liverpool goes to a replay

SpinSwimScream
Absolutely worth it. Great performance. Monaco did get a goal right near the end but it was ruled out for offside. I almost died
Luis Enrique scores at both ends as Barca dump out Newcastle. We meet Barca in Rotterdam
Shedender
So close to dumping out Barca!
Andrew♣
you have to sign brazilian ronaldo at some point surely
SpinSwimScream
Oh naturally, my number 1 target. I check his availability like every month hah
SpinSwimScream
Aye, would've given me a nice easy final as well
SpinSwimScream
Wrapped the league up with 3 games to spare. The treble is still on. Can now rest players in the league for the FA and Champs League Finals
SpinSwimScream
League season is over. Won it at a canter in the end really. Form was poor towards the end but that was mainly due to resting my best players for the cup and Europe.
Two huge games coming up.
SpinSwimScream
Bakayoko and Cole ended with decent hauls. Particularly when you take into account they both were injured sections of the season and were heavily rotated with my other strikers. Cole's performances have spared him being sold in the summer.
That Chelsea strikforce though... also an 18 year old Michael Owen with a great season, Might be a future purchase

Andy Cole does the business in Bakayoko's absence. Great to beat the scousers.
2 down, 1 to go.
SpinSwimScream
Heartbreak...
When Bakayoko who fought back from injury to make the bench came on and equalised in the last minute I thought it was written in the stars, I was having dreams of the Nou Camp in 99... This hurts.
Really though I was genuinely not expecting to get this far in my first season so I am immensley happy, proud etc despite falling at the final hurdle. I know now it can be done... and my team is not far off at all.

Looking forward to your transfer window!
SpinSwimScream
Thanks bud Yeah the priorities for transfers will be at Full Back where we need better cover with Irwin coming up 33 and Michael Clegg being nowhere near good enough. A CB would be nice too as Wes Brown isn't ready and Henning Berg could definitely be improved upon. Finally I will also be looking for another CM to bolster the numbers. Ideally Niclas Alexandersson for his versatility.
I'll also be looking to offload a striker or two. Probably Solskjaer (as much as I love him I barely used him) and Sheringham (age more than anything as he was great this season). The two youngsters Notman and Nevland will probably be loaned out again which will leave me with Bakayoko, Cole, Henry and Scholes. Obviously if any of my faves from this era become available I might be tempted.
Other than that I'll be sitting back and enjoying the France 98 World Cup

Yeah I did way better than I expected so I'm ecstatic. It's still just annoying coming so close But yeah you should totally do it, I'd be all over that

Congrats on the double!
tongey
Sad to see you may see Solskjaer leave as he's one of my favourite players of all time!
Congrats on the League and Cup double! Onto next season for the Treble now.
