I suggest everybody clicks the "Notify me when updated" button to receive an email when the file is updated/amended in the future.
This file will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2016 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, with 26 media files added to encompass all major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all these files to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Magrippinho very helpfully created a YouTube video on how this file should be installed. Some of the contents are different - but the procedure is identical, although of course you use the equivalent folder for FM16.
Or, you can follow the below instructions to install this version of this file
Step 1: Go to
PC
Slightly more detail in this post
Linux
Android:
Step 2: Delete the dbc, edt and lnc folders from the path above
Step 3: Copy the dbc, edt and lnc folder from this download into the folders mentioned in step 1.
Step 4: Go to:
Step 6: Keeping the folder in step 5 open, go back to the file you downloaded and select the folder named "FM16 Real Names Fix Files from sortitoutsi.net v2.1".
Step 7: Paste the circled folder directly into the folder mentioned in step 5.
Take care to remove any previous versions of this file
Step 8: This should be what your editor data folder looks like. There may also be a config.xml file in this folder and can be safely retained; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly. Club names (including the German ones) are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in FMC. There's a workaround for that in the first post.

And you're starting a new game and the German players are still not appearing? Or are you referring to a save game you've started already?
AleaKez
Can't see how it is a skin issue since it happened after i applied the real name fix, even when i change back to the original skin the same problem appear.
mons
I only mentioned it because I saw it was a different skin from the default one; I'm not a skinner so I can't be sure, though.
This download does not make any changes to graphical files whatsoever, so it must be some other change that you have made to your game that have resulted in the issue you are mentioning.
Shaytp99
Yes those are in the 1630 file, its on a new save and no changes on league names or german national team

I'm completely stumped tbh. Everything seems to be perfectly fine
Can you drop me a PM? I may have a solution...

I managed to get it all working. in the game but why have I not got the correct names in the data editor. Is there a way to sort this out? Cheers
mons
Club names are regulated by the Susie Real Name Fixes - Club Name Changes FM16.dbc file within the FM16 Real Names Fix Files from sortitoutsi.net v3.2 folder, and so the changes are not added automatically to the data as seen by the editor as when you use lnc files. I prefer to use dbc files for club name changes since using lnc files would mean that club nicknames are lost.
If you want to see or edit the dbc file, just load the editor and import the above-mentioned dbc file

No idea. It's a file created by SI and not one of mine. It probably contains the tactic itself or a small modification thereof.

Them, I installed that fix (FM2016 Real Names and German National Team Fix File v3.2 for FM16.3.1 [07/04/2016])
And two issues happened
First. The Kit skins for Brazilian Teams not work
Second. The names of Brazilian Teams are just 3 letters.
I already see many comments about but I don't really understand. So, what can I do to fix that.?
mons
Download the latest files again and apply them; a later official patch was released after the transfer update and as a result some new files were added, which meant that a new version of this file had to be released.
Start a new game. Everything should be fine
ThiagoLopes
OK.
This new version of Real Names and German National Team Fix File v3.2 for FM16.3.1 [07/04/2016] only works fine if I play a new game with the Winter Transfer database? Because a just tried start a new game with the official FM database (Summer Transfer in July) and the problem remains.
mons
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2016\data\db\1601\dbc\permanent (or equivalent) and delete brazil_kits.dbc and Licensing2.dbc. I believe that should fix it
ThiagoLopes
It works
Thanks a lot!!!!!!

I got the same problem. Is there a workaround? Im playing a save game with the winter db. The names changed but the german national team could not be selected to manage (when starting a new game) and they did not call up the real players.
mons
I'm still no closer to finding a solution. It's an issue for only a very small section of this file's users, and I can't figure out why

Looks like you haven't installed the files correctly then, I'm afraid. Which official database are you playing with: is it the default database or the one released with the 16.3 patch?
Can you ensure the three lnc files in this download (and these files ONLY) are in the 1600, 1601 and 1630 lnc folders?

You can use the existing one just fine

a) in all of the 1600, 1601 and 1630 lnc folders, there are only the 3 files from this download and nothing else
b) in the same edt/permanent folders, there is no fake.edt file
dex12
I put these files in the right folders and deleted the fake.edt, but....i don't know why
