Take out his hat trick against Villa he got 13 in 37 games. Fucking atrocious. Will have a good Euros though, think he fits tournament football.

As soon as you start doing that its a dangerous game. For example take out Vardy's 13 in 11, we all know it was a purple patch and won't be repeated, then his goal return is 11 goals in 25 games which is alright, but barely an improvement on whoever you're moaning about in that post (I know its one of Giroud or Walcott but yeah).

Genuine question, if he scores 15 goals all comps next season would you be happy with that or are you expecting more?

Someone posted a pie chart on reddit which showed that the teams Vardy scored against were of all qualities, not just flat track bullying. Getting a hat trick on the last day of the season against the side that finished bottom and have been relegated for a while is deserved to be taken out though imo in Giroud's case.

Realistically I think any striker worth their salt should be getting at least 20 League goals for us considering the talent surrounding them. As a minimum I think we need our first choice striker hitting 17/18 goals in the League, Giroud hopefully around 12 and Alexis 15/16. I'm really not sure what to expect with Vardy, I don't think he'll get less than 10 in the League but that would be a failure in my eyes.

I've said before, I don't trust Arsene much these days but if he buys a player for £20m or more I'm trusting in his judgement completely. He wouldn't sign a 29 year old striker for that much if he didn't think he could be a huge success here.

But then, again, most of those came in that run. I think aside from that he scored a couple against Liverpool (who are shit and can't defend) and one against Chelsea and your lot, I think. Not that theres anything wrong with being a flat-track bully necessarily, if we'd have had a player like that consistently scored against the dross last season we'd probably have won the league.

In all honesty, regardless of the move, I think he's got one season wonder written all over him. Maybe I'm wrong, I thought Kane would struggle to live up to his last season too. But if I was an Arsenal fan I'd probably take the opposite view to yours, that £20m in this market is nothing and its worth the punt.

Don't get me wrong I think he is a one season wonder too but there must be something that caught Arsene's eye. This isn't Brendan Rodgers buying him, this is one of the Prem's best ever managers whose only bought flops when they were low cost. £20m for the top scorer of the League champions is worth the risk though, I agre

And yeah, we did well in the big games and struggled massively against the shitter teams, the complete opposite of the usual.

Idk what's going to happen though, I hope it pays off though. We seem to have had a focus on buying characters as well as just footballers as well. Xhaka is a born leader and Vardy is a vile bastard.

Bit better than 1 in 3, it's not horrific it's just not at the Aguero/Suárez-level. My point is he's significantly better than Walcott - Arsenal should still be trying to improve on Giroud - but Vardy replacing Walcott is a more significant upgrade.

Take out 3 goals or take out 13, makes sense that.

Vardy is a huge upgrade on all of our strikers. We don't need a Giroud-esque striker unless it's an impact sub.

The style of play that Vardy needs to be effective is the complete opposite to how we play so unless Wenger fairly dramatically changes it (which has been needed for some time anyway) he's gonna be a complete failure. As for Giroud i'd say he's probably better than Vardy in every aspect other than his speed and work rate, though Vardy is probably more capable of making a goal out of nothing than Giroud is. I'd obviously want Vardy to be a massive success if he joins, but the way we play and the fact he could quite easily be a one season wonder is telling me he won't be.

You should watch the goals he's scored this season, not every one has been on the counter and there's been a lot of variety.

Then watch United at home and you can see how he'd fit in easily imo

Looking increasingly like Vardy may have snubbed Arsenal anyway.

Isn't John Cross the one you guys all trust?

He's a moron. Ornstein is probably the most trustworthy, Jeremy Wilson & Matt Law are also pretty decent. I'd expect Hodgson wants this to be over ASAP tbh

Di Marzio says we have made an approach for Matic whilst also mentioning the Eric Balley story.

Interesting one that Klopp was at the Argentina game sat next to Higuain's brother/agent and left after Higuain was subbed off.

I would have liked him at United, but with Ibrahimovic arriving (that might be announced today) it looks very doubtful.

I'd give an ultimatum to be honest, don't think it's good for either club to wait a month for a decision imo

As much as some political parties in Denmark would like to believe otherwise, that makes you danish.
