This hasn't been a great final.

Buzzing for this to start, it'll be a good tournament...god I've missed football!

I Take this pre tournament comment back, what a shambles this year's tournament has been!

The third place rule ruined the final group games, too many teams set up defensively to get a draw, that's not football.

Portugal in the final and have won one game in six within ninety minutes!?

Eh? I've no reason to be mad, I'm English I couldn't care which of these won, just think it's been a poor tournament etc and I'm sure a fair few would agree

This Portuguese team are worse than Greece in 2004. Awful fucking tournament. UEFA better bin this format for 2020.

Rui Patricio was the only player who started the match that actually played well.

What a bizarre ending to the tournament. Feels a bit anticlimactic, really.
Baring 15 goal bonanza in extra time can anyone remember a worse tournament than this?

I've enjoyed this one more than Euro 2012. But its probably one of the worst finals in years.

BBC voting Hal Robson-Kanu's goal as the goal of the tournament pretty much sums up the tournament.

Didn't think it was possible, this tournament was worse than the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Portugal-Hungary game alone was better than all of 2010

The amount of people moaning about Portugal is hilarious. They won 1 game in 90 minutes, so what? They didn't lose any either. They won the tournament because they never gave up and wanted it the most when it really mattered. If England had played like Portugal and won it, everyone would be going mad talking about how good it was. Well done to them.

Surprised no Bale, and the inclusion of Pepe seems at odds too. Don't think he had a great tournament, but on the winning team so guess that helps! Probably would have had Bonucci instead, or a couple of others.

I enjoyed this tournament.

People complaining about the final - have you ever seen a final before? they're pretty much always like this.

Getting more frustrated with the 'elite journos' of the world - complain about the PL and the ridiculous excess of money and vanity involved. Then complain about International football that teams have weaknesses and can't just buy better players.

I'd say that's a fair team - Bale was on fire in the groups but then faded.

Not a single italian player, but Joe Allen makes the team. Nonsense.

None of the Italian midfielders were particularly impressive, you'd have a case for one of their defenders but you can't exactly put a defender in Allen's place

Bonucci over Pepe, and I'd argue Giaccherini did more than Joe Allen.

Could make much the same argument for Payet in fairness.

Hmmmm... true.

Alright. Make it a toss up between those two.

Don't like Pepe but he was very good in the QF and final, that probably sealed his place in the team. I'd have him in there with Bonucci. Not much between those two and Boateng though in all fairness during the tournament.

Honestly I watched nearly every match of the tournament and thought it wasn't anywhere near as bad as 2010.

Actually felt it wasn't bad.
