Well, we needed the baby steps of a first win, and a 3 goal margin too (if, by sounds, a bit generous on us). I'll take that nicely.
And then just to add to insult, he was dismissed in stoppage time. Oh well, at least it'll end his (own goal) scoring streak.

Yeah... one way to celebrate turning down a new deal or impress the Premier League/SPL-team scouts that were apparently there to watch him. I like the fact his 3 own goals means he's now technically one of the division's top scorers.

Shane Duffy scoring 3 own goals in less than 2 matches indicates something towards the utter dross currently masquerading in Blackburn colours.

Incidentally, another forum I frequent mentioned leaked documents into some of the utter fuck-ups being done by Venky's. Hear anything about this?

Club's an absolute shambles mate.

I saw those documents yeah, dodgy stuff going on which isn't a surprise but even l was amazed at Ke*n's contract. Bear in mind we'd finished in the top 10 of the PL for 4 out of the previous 5 seasons before that lot bought us and promoted him to manager, his contract included bonuses depending on where we finished in League One. Scum, the lot of them, completely ruined us.

Won't last. But we're top of the league. And deserve to be. Not at our best in the second half and Barnsley pushed us all the way, but two absolute screamers won it for us either side of Barnsley's controversial goal.

Löwe's strike was a goal of the season contender. Great movement, driving run, emphatic finish. A thoroughly deserved lead at half-time. The remarkable stat of the first half: we weren't given a single free-kick. Mostly because the ref was a blind, deluded shitbag who gave them everything.

Their equaliser was interesting. Long throw, whistle blows, they stick it in the net. Everyone relaxes because it's been chalked off. Only, it hadn't been. The ref later put out a tannoy announcement that any further whistles from the crowd would result in suspension of play. I'm at a loss to know what a ref is meant to do in that situation. I'm brassed off because we conceded after stopping for a whistle as the ball came in. Barnsley would be annoyed if it wasn't allowed to stand. There will be guidance, which I don't know, but the ref's in a difficult situation there. I've seen the highlights and there's a definite whistle as the ball comes in. Tough to take but this is one where I have real sympathy with the officials because there is no easy answer.

We promptly went to bits defensively for most of the half, but still carried attacking threat. Barnsley hit a post after a stray pass from Whitehead before we started piling on the pressure in the dying seconds, Kachunga and Bunn testing the keeper before Jonathan Hogg finished superbly after good work from Kachunga. We'd have lost it last season, and it was great to see the spirit and attitude showing through. Harsh on Barnsley, perhaps, but I don't really care that much.

A boring 0-0 for us today, probably the players eyes were on the tie on Tuesday away at Palace.

The attendence debacle continues.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CqTsnR-WcAADMBQ.jpg

Attendance given as 3,114, though actual attendance closer to 1,911. Latest trick is to boost numbers with lots of free tickets, then count all of those free tickets in the attendence figures even if they weren't all used. Still too many scabs either way.

There are so many lame excuses that it boggles the mind, the most deluded of which is that some "fans" seem to think it doesn't matter who owns the club or how they run it and that all that matters is the football and the results on the pitch. Regardless if your owners treat you like cash cows and will sue you as soon as look down their nose at you with their rapey-eyes. Some people spout all sorts and I don't want to go into the scabs reasons as they just make me angry

The owners do realise, however, that half of the population of Blackpool are smackheads and doleys who will do anything for a free handout and so continue to offer free tickets in an attempt to artificially boost attendance figures in an attempt to show that NAPM movement is not working. We must be hitting their pocket, making them dip into their personal fund the club's "rainy day money". Our only hope is to stop the club making them money to loan to their other failing companies and keep them in their lifestyle and someone comes in to buy the club who can see our potential. I imagine the current owners would still stack the club with millions of pounds of debt and even in death their claws would be unmovable from the clubs assets but it would be a start.

Personally I think the Oystons just see themselves as in competition with the Venkys over who are the biggest set of cunts to run a football club. Just shows the lack of real power and even the lack of care the FA actually have over football in this country, just so long as the TV money keeps rolling in ay?

Lost 0-1 vs Owdhum today. Haven't won at home against them since 1967, so there was little hope in first place which was backed up by a truly ABYSMAL match. Genuinely awful. From start to finish, from defence to our attacking front, just pure dross.

Not seen it down at Town that I can remember, to be honest. Didn't think he did anything wrong by sending out the announcement! Any blame is entirely with the fool who brought it in the first place.

If you get a fit James Vaughan you'll have a player who is 100% committed to the cause. Powerful, quick, scares the life out of defenders. I remember watching him rip Roger Johnson to shreds against Wolves a few years ago in one of the most awesome individual performances I've seen, and in his first 18 months with us he was a genuinely prolific striker. On the other hand, he picks up bookings like confetti, along with picking up silly red cards when he rises to bait. I personally think he's finished as a professional - he's had too many injuries and his body can't take it any more, so from that point of view he's a real risk. He's not scored since a header against Ipswich the season before last, which means he's scored only 7 times in almost 3 years, since a penalty against Burnley in November 2013.

It's a shame, because on his day he can be a wonderful player. He just has so many drawbacks.

Bit of Town transfer news - as I wrote the above we announced left-back Tareiq Holmes-Dennis on a 3-year deal from Charlton. One for the future, I assume, as Chris Löwe looks very good. Though we are light in that position, with Jason Davidson departing for Groningen. Don't know anything about him, so can't comment on his attributes.

Janmaat and Saivet out and Yedlin in - busy day for us today.

We still need 3 or 4 more, or we're going to leave ourselves understaffed AGAIN which is surely not an option with all the extra games.

LB, LW, AM and CF and we're good to go. Could probably get away without the LB.

We had Holmes-Dennis on loan two seaons ago (I think, when we made the play-offs but got dicked by Wycombe home and away) and you could see there's some potential there but he always looks suspect at the defending side of the game, as most young fullbacks do these days, 'though we mainly played him as a wing-back so he always had cover.

Scored a screamer for us towards the end of the season though.

I haven't, I've got work this evening so that put paid to that. Luckily a lot of our fans are fully aware of the OystonOut campaign so I hope they don't fill their pockets any more than necessary, although with such a long journey for most of our fans I can't see there being that many anyway.

I don't know which way this game will go, partly because it's early doors so you don't really know what the opposition are like and partly because we've been so hit and miss already.

Yeah, one thing our fans seem to be doing well is getting across our plight to opposition teams' fans before a fixture. Fortunately, most seem to sumpathise. I expect a draw, going 2-2.

What a game already at Hartlepool, a goal each and Hartlepool have a man sent off with only 4 mins gone!

Still too many scabs

3,085 is what the BBC gave out (seeing as how Blackpool didn't give out the number themselves for obvious reasons) for the attendance with 626 away fans, I'm surprised you got that many home fans to be honest!

That was hard work. Another game we'd have lost last season, but which we managed to grind out this. First 45 was superb, really brilliant football being played. Most sides a division up would have struggled to cope with us playing like that and we were unlucky it was only one. However, the second half was all change. We never came out of the blocks and Wolves pressed us all the way. Danny Ward was immaculate in goal and made what could be save of the season from one close-range header - it really was brilliant.

Rajiv Van La Parra scored the only goal and promptly celebrated in front of the Wolves fans who gave him so much stick. Quite enjoyed that myself! VLP deserves his goal after the work he's done this season. He could get more, but his composure in front of goal is questionable. Excellent advantage from the referee as well when Wells got hauled down immediately before to the goal. Could have given a penalty, didn't, and we benefited from it.

You not at the match?

Hayden was good today - Shelvey was actually quite decent as well (he even ran around), although I still think neither of them really know how to control the midfield. Tbf I said Hayden was out of his depth, since the Reading game he has actually looked settled, and he looks much better for it.

Lascelles and Mbemba playing well is a big thing as well. We should walk the division if they play like that all season.

Dummett having Knockaert with ease today, who'd of thought?

Working today unfortunately.

I thought Knockaert was their main danger - wings with him and Ritchie would be great.

We controlled the midfield excellently for about 15 minutes after our 2nd goal.
