FM17 Discussion Thread

Fast question, I cannot get my custom graphics folder to work. Last year I used the start-up option: --user_data_location="F:\Football Manager 2016" but if I change it to --user_data_location="F:\FM Stuff\Football Manager 2017" it doesn't seems to work..

Anyone knows a solution?

Hi,

is it me or it takes forever to start the game with the logo and face pack?

It has been 10 minutes now and it is stuck on a white screen....

Nevermind it worked. But it takes ages I guess to load all these picutres. Worth it.

Anyone else experience problems installing there game through steam? I pre ordered it the usual way and trying to install however it appears to be taking an age! It keeps cutting out as well, not an internet issue as I'm the only one currently on it too!

I seem to lose the blue 'network bar' that started to run and then goes and then the download stops each time.

My downloading through Steam has been poor for a while. Always seems to do it in fits and starts, never could work out why myself. Assumed it's their end as there is nothing wrong with my downloads from anywhere else.

Only thing I've noticed is that I'm getting a lot of yellow and red cards, nothing major but more than I've had in previous games. Otherwise all's been fine for me though only had time for around 10 matches or so.

We've updated Football Manager 2017 on Steam (17.0.2) which is now ready for download.

This update addresses crash issues reported by users in 17.0.1,

To get the update, simply quit and restart Steam and your game should update automatically.

Don't like that the stats box between highlights doesn't replace the substituted player with the subsitute in the list, meaning you have to try and scroll to see their stats.

Also, had a match where it was stuck on "cancel pending changes" even though I had changed my mind and not made any changes. Wouldn't let me click on the cancel button so had to play the rest of the match unable to make substitutions or tactical changes!

Yeah very annoying. Guess it's a bug, sometimes (few times) it actually does what is supposed to.

It does it now and again but it's quite annoying when it doesn't change all the time like it's suppose too. Bug? Perhaps but we'll find out when the full game is released on Friday.

Back in the 'summer' I applied for the vacant post at Dunfermline Athletic but didn't receive word on whether I was successful for an interview or not so I went back to the Job Centre screen a month or two after and it still says 'applied' so that one is definitely a bug as they haven't had a manager or even a caretaker manager the entire campaign - when applying for other jobs (when the time has been right) I've received word.
