I suggest everybody clicks the "Notify me when updated" button to receive an email when the file is updated/amended in the future.
This file will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released and when the full game comes out to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in FMT or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2017 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly.

Discussed here.
Sorry mate, I don't have a Mac so can't help. Surely it's not that different to the one in the main text?
As explained in the main text, the opening post and the readme file, this file cannot be fully used in the beta due to the fact that editor data files are disabled. There's a temporary workaround in the first post, or you can wait till the full version file is released once I get my hands on the game.

EDIT:
Wait, sorry mate! I just restarted the game and everything looks fine now. Sorry one more time.

Its the Millerntor-Stadion, not the name it is currently.

There aren't any change to the St Pauli stadium name as far as I can see
I may be quick, but I'm not a miracle maker

I believe in you man!

It's
when it should be
edit: So that the mass-replace-thingy in notepad works properly, for example.

Sorry man.

That's why I said we need to wait for an update. Take your time! ^^

P.S. The media and journalists files are not included presently since I did not have time to test them, but I hope to include them in future versions of the file

Awesome as always, thanks for the work and effort, much appreciated :-)
Just confirming though, the media/journo once added and installed will work with any save game we start now? Wont have to start a new one for them to kick in?
mons
You'd have to start a new game for them yes, but I thought it better to have the other files out now until I test the media files thoroughly
Clintwits
No probs, and totally understand releasing it like that :-) just wanted to check, still deciding whether to start another test run/trial game or try for my first long term save

For the last few Mac versions you can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down.
I didn't mention them at all in my instructions for the very simple reason that they should not be modified. If you delete them, you'll quickly find that you cannot start a new game since they are the files pertaining to the game's database
When the German licencing issue first surfaced, I copied over the exact text for each club from the previous year's database entries, and therefore the entries renamed by this file should be considered as the official SI ones. Unless there's special characters or licensing issues involve, I tend not to amend SI's official entries since presumably a conscious decision was taken to name them in that manner, and who am I to argue with the German research team
The beauty of this file is that you can make those changes in your file yourself - it won't take you more than a couple of minutes to load the editor and input those changes.
Guys, I was up till 3.30am yesterday finalising the files. Have a bit of patience
I'll try and have them available as quickly as possible, but when I started a new game as a test with the media files loaded yesterday night, the game stopped at the setting up the game database screen. Hopefully it'll be something minor which I can sort out quickly and I can release the media files today at some point. It may take a while if I don't manage to narrow it down, though. I'd quite like to include them all in one single file rather than as separate media files by country/region too.
mons
Pity you didn't ask me then; I'd have told you it was just a case of choosing import rather than load editor data file in the editor

I can't give an ETA because
a) I have no idea at present whether it's an issue which is straight-forward to locate and fix, and
b) I don't want to set a day and not be able to meet it for whatever reason
But rest assured that I want to get it out into the wild and its natural habitat asap. Hopefully I'll have a breakthrough at some point in the weekend
