A customer got stuck in the petrol station car wash at work yesterday during a powercut, ha. When I sold him the ticket we were talking about how much crap the apocalypse was.

Settlements for eftpos machines for the bank I work for didn't go through yesterday so the waiting time for a customers call to be answered today was like two hours.... Everybody at work wished the world had ended we were that busy.

I don't know what it's like back in Ireland and the UK nowadays because it's been about 9 years since I went to a petrol station but out here when they drop the price by about 2 or 3 cent a litre there are queues backing out onto the roads for the stuff. I'd hate to work in a petrol station, especially out here in Australia considering they're almost all 24/7 and get robbed a lot.

The petrol station in my village went out of business a while ago. It's so annoying, the closest other petrol station is at the Tesco about nine miles away. Also, my shop's the only PayPoint in the village and the machine breaks often, and we close at 10 anyway. Upside is less competition for us on shit like cheap booze, cigarettes, mints, energy drinks, etc.

Ahh, yeah we are "busier" when we drop the the price. But all the other forecourts in the area price match so the net effect is only minor.

Here price drops are announced on the radio. The queue might be long, but you can only serve as many people as there are pumps in the forecourt, so the cashier doesn't really have any issues.

I work for a supermarket petrol station so it's quite close to the store and I don't work when the main store shuts so the robbery thing doesn't get to me. (although they use a "hatch" system after 9pm).

Yeah and very rarely is the till full of money, apparently most robbers just take their fill of cigarettes.

Some idiot robbed a petrol store near me recently and made off with hundreds and hundreds of pounds worth of scratch cards. Twat didn't realise you need to activate them at the til first!

What annoys me is when you get the shitty customers who get lottery tickets, I put them down on the till and they walk off with them and just put a pound coin down, not realising that I need to scan them, else I'll be accused of theft. What's also shit is when people win over £50 on scratcards and it fucks my till up, had to cope with no twenties or fivers.

Because my cousin lives in Australia, and my uncle is a massive horse racing fanatic. Fair to say i know its a horse racing channel, though ive heard of two channels, TVU and TVN, i was 90% sure TVN was the Horse Racing channel.

I saw in the paper some down in Devon where the residents of some little village all wrapped themselves in tin foil to repel and alien mind control thing on the 21st.

Got to love the West country.

They still sell them in the market hall here in Leicestershire. Mind you I can remember some old guy turning to me and remarking 'Is it me or is it getting darker earlier?' as a black fella walked past.
