I suggest everybody clicks the "Notify me when updated" button to receive an email when the file is updated/amended in the future.
This file will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released and when the full game comes out to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in FMT or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2017 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly.

"Champion's league" and "Europa league" are working, there is "bundesliga" too, but club's names don't work :/
I paste the 3 folders in 1700 1701 1710 and 1730 after having deleted old ones, and did the same with the 5 files in editor data.

As explained in the installation instructions, in the readme and in the opening post, club name changes will only work with a new game, unless you do the workaround in the first post.

Can you please make sure there are no all or greek folders in your lnc folders please? Nor fake.edt files in your edt folders?

Try it and let us know
My guess is that you'll still be left with the fake club names for Portugal, Brazil, Germany etc. and the licensing issues with competition names such as Premier League, Champions League, Europa League etc.

Thanks for the reply, i will probably use this which i already do before the official update yesterday, so i need to redownload it and add them all to each folder again or just the new 1703 folder?
I actually like using this fix and i appreciate it but some club names annoy me they're really long and like Arsenal FC that kind of annoys me why not just Arsenal, looks better in my opinion

The latest release is optimised for 17.3 and, yes, it needs to be installed in all the folders to be sure it's working.
I have not changed any English club names in this download, so not sure where you're getting that from. You can see which club names have been changed by opening the City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc with Notepad. If you want to only remove club names, you can always delete the Club Name Changes FM17.dbc file from your editor data folder.

@Bram Carella I saw it last time you posted. Checked yesterday in the editor before uploading the files and both those UIDs are of extinct clubs, i.e. they are not displayed in the game. Can you check if it is the case or if the clubs with those names have different UIDs perchance?
explosivewinger
Yes, those UIDs are correct and belong to the extinct clubs above, but in real life, starting from this season (2017) they will play in the domestic league, with a new format competition, the two clubs, Persebaya will play in Liga 2 and Arema Indonesia will play in Liga 3. But in the latest patch 17.3, SI forgot to make them available in the game, I've reported this problem to SI in this forum.
Just put this in waiting list for your next update and as an early anticipation if SI will release some improvement to 17.3 Patch. Because in the latest patch I've noticed the database in asia are not yet 100% correct. some transfers and changes that occur before December and January is still not yet implemented in 17.3 patch, hope they will fix it as soon as possible.

I updated Real Names Thai Competitions 2017 for 17.3.0
Please check and update next time.

Best to do them all over again as some files deleted by this download were recreated again, so safer that way

So I'm guessing that somewhere along the way the part of the .txt file with all the brazilian club changes was deleted, or it was suposed to be like this?
mons
I never included the changes of the Brazilian clubs in the club name changes file as it is very easily solved by removing the Licensing2.dbc file from the dbc/permanent folder, also accomplished by installing this file
Makes no sense writing and editing all the stuff manually, when deleting a simple file will do the trick
