No complaints about the result, other than it being a bit on the harsh side. 4-1 or 5-2 would have been fair, 5-1 makes it look like more of a thrashing than it was. Don't get me wrong, they were miles better, but we deserve some credit. It takes serious balls to take the game to Man City on their own patch when they have their full first team out - especially with a fully-changed starting line-up. We made mistakes, but at the end of the day quite a few of those were made because Man City press like nothing else I've seen in this country and they're simply miles ahead of us.

Billing was tremendous, and the experience will have done some of the young lads good. Stankovic will be a good player, and he'll be stronger for playing against the Agueros of the world. Holmes-Dennis will grow from his tough night. Payne never stopped running. The goal will have done Bunn's confidence the world of good. On to Newcastle.

In fairness though the latter three have a combined total of 8 goals and 10 assists in 54 appearances between them this season. (if the stats i just looked at are correct)

You'd still prefer Martial or Rashford up top instead of Fellaini though.

You can make a case for both cards, and its thick as fuck from Herrera, but this is classic Oliver. Absolutely losing control of the game, and then doing something stupid to try and get it back.

He's sent Herrera off because he A) realised he made a mistake playing advantage and felt like he had to make amends and B) because he realised he made a mistake not booking Jones.

Hazard was looking at the ref before he'd even finished falling, knew exactly what he was doing. Think our players are just frustrated at how they are going down from even the slightest contact. But yeah stupid as fuck from him to stick a leg out seconds after the ref had spoken to em all. Only really gonna be one result now, Rashford will have all 3 centre backs on him and won't get a sniff.

Should have probably stopped watching at the red card. At the very least I'd have saved myself 60 minutes of Pogba walking around like he can't be arsed.

Probably good we're out as we're starting to pick up injuries and probably fatiguing at the moment.

Europa League needs to be the priority as I don't think we can put together the home form needed to break into the top 4.

Don't understand what United fans are complaining about... Herrera is to blame. The referee saved you another red card at least by not booking Valencia for any of his shitty tackles.

Probably would have prefered Arsenal in the semi but hopefully we manange to make it to the final!

In fairness Valencia should have gone, but the fact he didn't even get booked for that (which was a straight red for me) or the tackle before that which was a much more aggressive version of Herrera's second foul, makes it more annoying.

It's the problem with Oliver really, he has zero idea how to control a game, and then does daft reactionary shit after him being shit scarred of a decision leads him to feel like he needs to reassert his authority.
