I suggest everybody clicks the "Notify me when updated" button to receive an email when the file is updated/amended in the future.
This file will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released and when the full game comes out to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in FMT or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2017 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. I start new games several times.....and no changes
mons
Then you've not installed it correctly. Make sure all 5 dbc/permanent folders contain ONLY the files displayed in the screenshot in the main post.
Kiko1972
When i install the files i didn´t have any folder in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\
I´ve to create the folders Football Manager 2017\data\db and then i create the folders 1700; 1701; 1710; 1712 and 1730. Then, inside this folders i copy the dbc, edt and inc folders with the files/folders that i downloaded
mons
You need to find the folder in which Steam installed the game files, because you should not have to create those folders yourself.
Kiko1972
I found it. Now what? Delete all files in those folders and copy teh new ones?
kentun
Edit: I restarted my PC and it is now perfectly fine. Thanks for the fix
mons
As clearly described in the readme and in the main post, you need to delete the original dbc, edt and lnc folders and replace all 5 of them with the ones in this download. At the end of the process, each folder should look like the screenshots in the main post. Hope this helps

First of all thanks for the excellent work with this file. I recently updated my PC to windows 10 and I am currently having problems deleting the folders DBC, EDT and LNC.... When I try to delete them I get a windows message asking for administrator permissions but I am the only user in the PC and I am a administrator. Has anyone faced this problem? Any ideas of how to fix it??

I have check the security settings for the folder and my user is in fact owner of the folders and all the required permissions.
Thx for your help guys.
Cheers!

I already started a game and everything is fine, just the brazilian teams..can I change anything to fix this?
mons
Can you check your 5 dbc/permanent folders and make sure only these files are contained in there:
Obyt14
There are no other files in the permananet maps.. I forgot to use your file before I started up my game..but all other things seems to be savegame compatible
mons
That particular fix isn't, however.

all award in SERI A change like "capocannoiere, miglior difensore AIC, etc"
mons
Yes, that's part of the fixes effected by this file. If you don't want to have them, just delete the Awards.lnc file and you'll have the old default names back.
Forsage
Is it correct, that if started a game using file "Susie Real Name Fixes...", there would be no chance to change club names. As lnc-files cannot overwrite .fmf file, and erasing .fmf file will not apply to already started game?
Thanks
mons
You would not be able to edit club names which have already been edited within the Club Name Changes fmf file, no.
For a full list of clubs whose names are edited in this file, either open the file with the editor or open the City, Club and Stadium names.lnc file with Notepad, or a similar text-reading program. The most important changes are to club names in the top divisions of Germany, France and Portugal, which are named differently than real-life in the game for licensing reasons. There's also an overhaul for Italian club names in the top 5 divisions, as well as loads of edits for Eastern European nations to add accents and diacritics (such č, đ, š, ž) to club names where applicable.

Never mind. I had a other map with editor data.

I'll make a note of that, but I suspect that's something which will be changed in the default data by SI.
