15 July - vs Southport (a), 3pm
22 July - vs Salford City (a), 3pm
22 July - vs Radcliffe Borough (a), 3pm
25 July - vs Chorley (a), 7.45pm
29 July - vs Macclesfield Town (a), 3pm
No home games, because the owners want to line their pockets by hosting as many events as possible at the ground over the summer. The pitch may then be gutted before we've even started the season, but football is not even second in terms of importance at Bloomfield Road whilst the Oystons are there. The teams are all still local though, don't want to have to spend money on hotels that aren't owned by them! The level of opposition isn't exactly high (no offence to fans of these teams), so looks like they want to play on us having an unbeaten preseason along with the recent promotion to try and entice more fans into breaking the boycott and becoming a scab. The sad thing is, it will work.
Your club off to anywhere interesting?

That said, our pre-season looks a little something like this:
18 July: Macclesfield Town (A) 19:30
22 July: Crewe Alexandra (H) 15:00
25 July: Salford City (A) 19:30
28 July: Tranmere Rovers (A) 19:30
Grimnir
That'll be us!
Oh and sometimes we go on adventures in Scotland. We took part in some weird little competition under Holloway too, I remember.
Our pre-season is usually more "exciting" if not at least interesting than our season!
Shedender
Indeed but I wouldn't have minded them against bigger opposition, no disrespect to Albert Foundry and Crumlin Star but hey ho, beggers can't be choosers.
Shedender
Our schedule has changed a little for this upcoming preseason.
19 July: Lower Shankill (H) 20:00
25 July: Crumlin Star (H) 20:00
27 July: Groomsport (A) 19:00
1 August: Albert Foundry (H) 19:00
5 August: Ballywalter Rec (A) 15:00
The trips to both Comber Rec and Abbey Villa have been cancelled.

Sounds like it was all about the second half in yours, @terriersmad and @gfnx25

Couldn't go today mate. The pub me and my dad are running was a bit packed with the British GP at Silverstone and Wimbledon being on today, so had to help out.
Pleaased to see Beckford scored though. Important for him to get match fitness plus him finding his scoring boots early
terriersmad
He was played through very well by Jack Payne. Shame he plays for us
Pre-season going well so far, other than a worrying number of players not featuring. Wins against Accrington and Bury, defeat to Sandhausen, but it's all about the fitness at the moment. Quite a few kids are getting game time, which is good - Ryan Schofield, Jordan Williams, Danny Kane and Rarmani Edmonds-Green have all got good game time. The defeat to Sandhausen is no real concern - individual errors meant we conceded 3, but the players who made those errors won't be in the first team come 12 August (Scannell is at right-back at the moment, and Cranie is very much a squad player this season, at least he will be when we have more than Schindler fit). Add to that, we'd played 48 hours before, trained 3 times between times and flown out to Germany! Ince has started well, as has Mounié. Four more games to go, and looking forward to next Wednesday when we face Udinese at home.
Still, it is a little worrying that Tommy Smith and Michael Hefele have yet to feature in pre-season, and that Zanka has been in and out. It's meant that only Schindler of our first-choice central defenders has got good match practice under his belt. Aaron Mooy remains on leave following the Confederations Cup, while Stankovic is still out with his ACL injury. Wells has also come back with a knock.
Barnsley away on Sunday should be a good test before three European top-flight sides in our last three friendlies - Udinese at home, followed by Stuttgart and Torino on our Austrian camp.

Fucking arsehole. Now fans, who have already paid money to go out there for the whole week, booked accommodation around both games, including the first, are fucked because they've basically got extra days to do fuck all.
The club are trying to rearrange the match somewhere else but, seeing as how it's next Tuesday (I think) time is running out.
In other news, we've beaten every lowly non-league team we've played this pre-season and have Cardiff at home tomorrow.
K3V0
United the better side, which isn't surprising as they've a much stronger side starting the game.
K3V0
Lukaku first with a very cool finish and Rashford with a very good finish after Miki put him in behind.

Now our other pre-season game in Holland against Twente's reserves has been called off for the same reason plus 'the threat of flares'. Do these retards not see the Dutch leagues? All they do is set flares off!
Absolute bunch of idiots.

United fans becoming too predictable and its only pre season

Is this the new trend? We had two simultaneous friendlies today as well, away at Salford and Radcliffe Borough. We put out mixed sides, only the one member of the Trialist family who we're very fond of usually at this time of year. Won both too, 4-3 against Salford where we could not defend. Plus they had our old striker Redshaw who was bound to score against us. Much too good a player for them, he is. If they keep him fit. Thrashed the others 7-0, at least we can outclass the non League!

Ah are they in La Liga now? We played them at Ewood last pre-season and they were pretty decent. Drew 1-1 but they were miles better than us. Must have got promoted last season as they were second division when we played them.
gfnx25
Finished second in the Segunda last season iirc. To be fair they got absolutely shafted by the play-offs or finshing just outside the auto promotion spots for a couple of years. Bit of a "feeder" club for Man City too. Read an interesting article about them some time ago: http://thesefootballtimes.co/2017/06/15/the-rise-of-girona-a-tale-of-late-dramas-and-guardiolas/
As for our pre-season. We won zero games in total. Drew 1-1 with Crewe yesterday with Beckford scoring again. Had two trialist keepers in Kyle Letheren and Dean Lyness in pre-season. That's all the interesting stuff from our pre-season.

More of our ex players!!!
terriersmad
Makes sense to me. It means that with 3 weeks to go the whole squad has got a full 90 minutes under its belt, which is more important than any result. That we beat decent sides is another bonus, particularly given how makeshift our defence was v Girona - Hudson and Cranie wouldn't be my first choice central pairing, for all their Championship experience, I wouldn't have holding midfielder Regan Booty at right-back or forward Harry Bunn at left-back! The defence I anticipate starting at Palace was largely untroubled, from the highlights Barnsley put up, at Oakwell, with Tommy Smith to come back in at right-back when fit. Equally, I don't think Collin Quaner will be starting on the wing v Palace (though he's a great option to have on the bench - an ungainly, physical handful who can change a game, and who but for Barnsley keeper Adam Davies would have scored about three times as many goals for us).

To be fair we was absolutely knackered from the start of that game, we still deserved to lose but Chelsea looked 5 yards quicker from the kick off. Could see it was their first game of pre-season compared to our 4th in 9 days travelling from London > Sydney > Shanghai > Beijing. We've also stuck with the 3 at the back but played both Maitland-Niles and Elneny there ffs.

Shit game, Salford better in the first half, our subs brought a bit of a change in the dynamic of the game. Trialist keeper Dean Lyness gifted their goal, Chris Humphrey was quite sheet and Tom Heardman was awful yet again (would seriously consider binning at this point). Joe Skarz was completely outdone tonight. Thompson, Maguire and Shotton looked decent, and few youth teamers looked decent.
If you want to win some money put your house on Salford winning the NL North this season. Quality all around the pitch. Signed a lad called Jack Redshaw who is rumoured to beon 2k a week (!!!). We're talking 6th division football here. Also got a wonderful new little stadium which was quite nice to visit tbf.
Grimnir
Yeah, the class of '92 are going for it this season. Redshaw was one of ours, whom we let go for whatever reason (thought he was one of the better strikers at the club myself, easily do a job in League 1). Was on trial at Rochdale and then signed for Salford just before we played them last week! £2k a week is more than he'll have earned with us, Rochdale or Morecambe where he started! As you say, they should romp home to the title.
