Nearly bet on Derry tonight as well. Glad I didn't.

By the way, when you say they're 'throwing' tonight's game, you mean they're just fielding a weakened side, as opposed to actual match-fixing?

Match fixing. You shouldn't be betting on Irish football anyway, too unpredictable

(Although Dundalk are shite tbf)

Attempting something I saw on another forum where you start with £20, bet it 6 times and end up with a grand. Guaranteed to end in tears.

Bet 1 was Arsenal (-2) vs Coventry @ 11/10, returned £42. Bet 2 is Arsenal (-1) vs Olympiakos @ 11/10.

Probably stick a coupon on as well in a bit.

Got floored with my £5 bet in the Europa. Literally like 5 teams I expected to win didn't such as Sporting getting thrashed, etc. Fortunately, it was a fiver I made earlier during the day

Sometimes I like to flutter the odd £5 once in a while but I don't want to keep doing it as it adds up.

Is it best to make separate bets like £1 and £2's? Any tips? I get too excited with accumulators expecting a big payout only to have one team mess it up, but that's betting

Best to just go with 3 or 4 teams then?

I used to be the same in terms of betting small amounts on ridiculous numbers of teams - like 50p across 17 games that returns over a grand. Never even come close to winning one. I tend to bet £1 or £2 on 5-10 games, with odds that return somewhere around £20. If I win that I'll then try and place higher stakes on less games, then try and build from there until I've made a decent amount. Rarely works though. It takes a lot of patience and resistance, as well as a lot of luck.
