This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in the Beta, FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2018 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players. The latter are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. Due to licensing reasons, the number of Ajax non-playing staff is quite small and this file contains a fix to restore them. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

Susie Real Name Fixes - Ajax staff FM18_51792081-6A2F-4EF3-8781-F6D8D9E2A331.fmf
from within the editor data folder as they are no longer needed. Retaining them will see a duplicate complement for Ajax staff members.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly. The Japanese national team will be populated along the same lines too, but any Japan-based players are not in the official database and need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

I think you must not have installed the patch correctly. Can I get a screenshot of how the Japanese national team looks like in-game and also of your lnc folder?
Keep in mind that this file does not add any players to the J-League, nor the league itself. You can get an updated database for Japanese clubs here.

Thanks, I hadn't realised they'd announced their new manager.
That said, I'm not releasing a new version of the file as it's a data change issue and not a licensing fix thing It's something taken care of in the data update
SrWer
But is it that we did the transfers and even with them enabled we go to FM and continue as nothing had been done .
mons
Sorry mate, I know English isn't your first language, but I have no idea what you're saying here
SrWer
The problem is not yours, sorry for not expressing myself in the best way.
What I wanted to say is that I had made transfers to the ajax staff and they were not staying in the database .. but I was watching and the ajax staff is already all correct
Once again I apologize for my English, it is not always the most correct xD
mons
Happy to see everything is fine
Tommy Hughes
I believe Sr Wer means they've applied the sortitoutsi data update and, yet, the Ajax staff will not be corrected the way the list of database changes shows it should.
Oh, nevermind then. Problem solved apparently.
SirTAVARES
Or remove that since its done in Sortitoutsi Live Update
mons
I'll keep it in mind for the next version, but I'm not releasing a new one just for this single change
mons
Just realised I never acknowledged these. Thanks a bunch. Anything else you spot, keep it coming
Paul Symons
Have pasted them into the editior folder but no change. Do I need to paste all the editor files into the Editor folder to make this happen?
Paul Symons
MY MISTAKE, SORTED IT! Thanks for the update!

Thanks, I've added it into the main post
Giro
Accrington's stadium is now called the Wham Stadium. Cheltenham's the LCI Rail Stadium and Hull is the KCOM Stadium.
Nuneaton's has changed as well, but I'm not sure if it's just went back to being called Liberty Way or if it's still the Coombe Abbey Arena from last season.
Cheers for all your work!
mons
Thanks for these. I'll add them to the file ahead of the next release, planned for just after the release of the official transfer window patch.
If you know what you're doing, you can edit the lnc file yourself with Notepad and you'll have the changes in your save game for now
I've checked and the Nuneaton stadium sponsor change seems to have only been for 2016/17 and so it should now be plain Liberty Way.

Eh? No idea what you mean.
Can you elaborate with screenshots and perhaps a few more details?
Nicholas Tennant
Sure on the news screen it looks like this.

I do have background pictures on that change depending on the club you are. Bar that its a basic skin with a few graphics.
mons
Never seen anything like it, and it's certainly got nothing at all to do with the files in this download. Have you tried changing the skin to see if the issue persists?
Nicholas Tennant
Its the original skin. I will try a different one.
Matblaru
If i understand, with the new update (18.2.2), we do not need to reinstall files ?
Thx for your help !
(sry my english is so bad)
mons
No changes needed at all - carry on
marlox
Are You sure?
there is one new file in db\1810\dbc\permanent
"removemediasouces.dbc"
it should be there or do we have delete it?
mons
I saw it, but it removes a small number of media sources. Might as well leave it there.
