Similar prose to Kevin McCarra and he got made redundant he was getting so bad.

That satire is beneath you, come on, he clearly didn't think about how he didn't like Mansfield, but he did deliberately handball to gain an advantage. It's not the first time he's tried to score with his hand, or block a shot with his hand deliberately, and it certainly won't be the last. I'm just explaining that when you paint yourself with actions in the public eye as a pathetic pantomime villain and you break the rules, actively relishing and laughing at the fact that you've avoided punishment, you will be deemed with further contempt.
Plus, everyone in the UK loves an underdog story, so you can only imagine how much that fuels the protest too.

No, I know what you're trying to say, I was making fun of the way you framed it. I know what the general public think of Suarez. i know what I think of Suarez after watching the World Cup. He's not exactly a sportsman but... I mean I support the team which has Gus Poyet as manager. It's like that whole racism thing, right? What he did was wrong and it was right for people to let him know "hey, that's not ok". The reason I bring up Gus is that he was asked about the incident some time ago, presumably since he's from Uruguay, and he basically said that South America is very different to the UK and you can basically get away with saying different types of things which Suarez forgot about for a moment which seems sensible. People got mad at him for "defending" Suarez but that's kind of the whole point.
If you're going to talk about the coverage of this then to be honest talking about this issue is completely fucking irrelevant. A footballer scored a goal because the ball may or may not have hit his hand on purpose. You can't even say they denied Mansfield a reply. They were 1-0 up at the time, if they were at 1-0 Mansfield might not have been so attacking. Liverpool might have tried a bit harder and scored a goal anyway. It's a complete non story.
But it just goes to show what a collosal bitch fest football has become and it's one of the reasons why I'm glad I support a relatively small club. Every single time any little thing happens it turns into an us versus them depending on what team you support. Man Utd and Liverpool being the worst for this. Well, Celtic and Rangers but who gives a fuck about Rangers anymore.

Eh.

"You cannot accuse people without a proper investigation, especially when it's a foreigner who is coming from a different place where we treat people of colour in a different way.
"So it was very easy to accuse someone. Luis Suarez is 100% not a racist.
"Me, I'm not racist. I've lived with people of different colours in different countries and I adapted to every single situation. Suarez needs to adapt to England, and England needs to adapt to the players that come here.
"England needs to understand how the rest of the world lives. If we have that understanding, easy."
I mean, he certainly worded it badly but you can clearly see what he was trying to say.

"I believe Luis Suárez, it's simple," Poyet said. "I played football for seven years in Spain and was called everything because I was from South America, and I never went out crying like a baby, like Patrice Evra, saying that someone had said something to me."
"The ban is incredible, shocking, disproportionate. I back Luis to death. Things have happened before with Evra. He is not a saint. He is a controversial player.
"I don't know in which world we are going to live from now on. People will accuse each other of anything. Suárez just arrived [in the Premier League] and there are things that he has to learn when you are in another country because they might be normal in your country but perhaps they are not considered that way in other parts of the world."

But that wasn't really my point.

Couldn't agree more.
I'm sure you could say that 95% of people on this forum have said something that would be considered racist at one point or another. I bet the majority would voice that they aren't racist, and would defend themselves accordingly.

Your so blinded by your hatred for Liverpool it's untrue, your talking about the incident when the ball hit his arm which was tight up against his side?

I give as good as I get, having a wog background and all.

Fair enough, I was just saying that the reason people got annoyed at him getting involved was because he also implied Evra was making it up.

West Brom lost again too, home to QPR. This is probably the first proper test in Steve Clarke's managerial career, see if he can turn it around.
