Mercurio came out of nowhere for me @jameo_94. I put him in the team because Lukanovic wasn't scoring and the rest was history. I'll be back for that pesky Serie C Super Cup.

Thanks @Dan. It's bound to get harder. I always find Asia the easiest of the continents to succeed in which I why I came to Italy.

END OF PRE-SEASON 2023/2024

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Mqp8gN40MXGxXCg4HdaqTCNXHD0imADwNi6HNPsd.png

After being promoted last season after storming to the Serie C/C title, we now lie in Serie B. We got a much needed financial boost in the form of £3.3m because of television rights. The challenge was on to bring in some more depth to the squad and also a full time right back.

Transfers In

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/UM2PieBrvF1U9JMKcybzBEG4obNZ6qOxiOnwyhKW.png

Georgio Licini is now my full first team right back. He's on loan from Serie B club Brescia. He's our strongest right back we've had since I took charge and I look forward to him bombing on down the wing and setting a few goals up. (I hope he can defend too).

Matteo Spadoni is a player my DOF signed for me. I'm glad he did as he's straight into the first team squad and will provide depth around the first team. He's an attacking player who plays on the right side and has a 4 1/2 star potential so I'm hoping he realises this.

Federico Ferrari has come in on loan from Palmero to provide back up to Marco Imperiale who impressed me last season. He's only a youngster so should gain a lot from the loan move. Cup games for him mostly.

Ivan Rondanini is my 'big money' signing as he cost me a huge £49k. He also plays RB, but will mostly be used as a CB. He's a strong player in the air and has been known to score a fair few goals.

Maicol Sacchelli has come from my feeder team Fiorentina. He's going to provide back up to Mercurio. He's quick and he's good at finishing so hopefully he can come on late in games and give us a goal if needed.

Mirko Tamborrino came on a free after his contract at Citadella ran out. He's a midfielder who can play as a holding player or as an attacking one. I'm hoping he slots straight into the middle.

Karel Lauwers has come in to partner Alex Sirri at the back. I'm going to take my time with him as he doesn't know the language. He's Belgian and I believe he's my future captain.

Players Out

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/nmKYYNuZT4VPoqBeMwDELM11JvGbSC5dVacZhHnt.png

As I signed a fair few players this pre season, a few had to go. The main one being. Emilio Barbieri who has signed for Serie A team Roma. A cool £1.9m was not an offer I could turn down. I wish him the best of luck at Roma and want him to succeed. I may try sign him back if we ever get to Serie A

MID SEASON UPDATE 2023/2024

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Mqp8gN40MXGxXCg4HdaqTCNXHD0imADwNi6HNPsd.png

We had ourselves a pretty good pre-season in the transfer department having strengthened in a few key areas, mainly the centre of midfield and the full back positions. Finances don't look too great but they are improving season on season. The television money brought in this season boosted our finances a substantial amount although we still sit in the red at the moment but that can change quickly. Having just come up from Serie C/C we are expected to battle bravely against relegation and not do much more. I expect different standards though...We've played 20 games so far and we've hit the winter break so now seems like the right time to update you all...

League Fixtures

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SoGHiTEtLQjATMCtzD50aIfvLjQA8leUkHN2b6Tv.png

As you can see, we hit the ground running, going on a 7 match unbeaten streak. We even went the first 6 of those without conceding which is incredible. They always say championships are built at the back. Big wins against Perugia and Cagliari were particularly pleasing as they are 2 of the more known teams in the division with a bigger fanbase and therefore more money to throw at the league.

Our form didn't last though and we slumped to a 8 match run where we couldn't grab a win no matter what we tried. A tight game against Pisa ended 4-3 with them grabbing the winner in the 96th minute of a 95 minute match which was a bit annoying but what can we do eh? We only managed to score 4 goals in this stretch which is a weird turn of events considering we were flying. Our confidence dropped and we paid the price for it.

The last 5 games of this half of the season were much more positive. We won 3 of these, drew 1 and lost 1 as well. That's quite a turn around from the torrid form we had hit. 2 big wins in these 5 against Spal and Parma boosted our confidence as well.

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/a94U5Y160u84lqGqcZkolI9Vqn8kIiyp3zw4wg8f.png

We sit in 6th position after 20 games being played. What an unbelievable start to the campaign. We sit 9 points behind the league leaders Genoa who are flying at the top. Benevento/b]
sit a point further back in 2nd position which is the last automatic promotion place. We sit in the play offs behind [b]Novara
, Pisa and Perugia. 32 points is one hell of a haul for a newly promoted team. The pleasing sight is that we have a healthy goal difference as well being +13.

END OF SEASON 2023/2024

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Mqp8gN40MXGxXCg4HdaqTCNXHD0imADwNi6HNPsd.png

Last time I updated you we were half way through the season and had played 20 games of the season. We were sat in 6th position and were surpassing all expectations set by the board and the fans. I was delighted with the progress that we were making and to be honest I wasn't sure if we were going to keep it up and maintain our bid for a playoff spot. I decided that we needed to make a few more signings to help with this aim...

Transfers

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/m2UsnxUs3Y9pnP38e70TCAMhi4wb0dkoIKkFZ77K.png

Matteo Pellecchia was the first new one through the door. He's an Italian centre back who we brought in for free from Olympiakos on a free. He's a 6 ft 3 monster and has high heading attributes. At only 24 he's got his best years ahead of him. I see him as a future leader and captain of the team.

Albert Licaj is one for the future and my HOYD scouted him and brought him into the club. He'll play his football in the under 20s team for the season and we will re evaluate him at the end of the season.

Francesco Monaco has been brought in on loan from my feeder team Fiorentina. He's pacey and plays mostly as a poacher. I'm looking at signing him on a permanent contract if they allow me but I'm not optomistic. He has high finishing and first touch so he's good in the area and can slot his goals past the keeper. One for the future definitely whether he's with us or not.

League Fixtures

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WAwoWRZgcG9FCxDf9CREVTVkTsfbd92H5lZAx6Iq.png

The second half of the season didn't go as well as the first but we still did well. We played a total of 22 games this time, and won only 10 of them. Not a bad return considering our underdog status in most of the games. We lost 8 games which is 2 more than the first half of the season. A big win against PIsa was my favourite game and we totally dominated from start to finish against the high flying club. Another game that stood out was the 3-0 win against Crotone who were battling us for a playoff place. So where did we finish in our first season in the Serie B

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/HNfffLV5hkpeIlhnH4Hn1wnAnct99By0tQwkZ4fG.png

WE HAD DONE IT! We had secure a playoff spot with a point to spare. It came down to the last game where we managed a 0-0 with Bassano. After 42 games we finished in 7th position on 66 points having won a total of 19 games, losing 14 and drawing 9. Genoa won away with the league and go up as champions. Novara also claim an automatic promotion spot after finishing in 2nd. The playoff spots fell to Perugia, Parma, Benevento, Cittadella, ourselves, and Brescia in that order.

This meant that we had set up a play off match against Cittadella. It's bound to be a tight game as we finished on the same amount of points as them but fell behind them on goal difference.

SERIE B PLAYOFFS 2023/2024

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Mqp8gN40MXGxXCg4HdaqTCNXHD0imADwNi6HNPsd.png

We'd reached the playoffs after finishing 7th in the Serie B in our first season in the 2nd tier of Italian football. Anything can happen in play offs as it's just a knockout so whoever turns up and plays better on the day goes through and reaps the rewards. I was confident going into our game against Cittadella...

Serie B Playoff Preliminary Round

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/mjpicb1NqBYdlJ8LBcmLwqWfIjYxOTvBRig7CS3a.png

Going 2-0 down within 16 minutes wasn't exactly the start I had hoped for. We started sluggishly and conceded two really well worked team goals and they probably deserved to be 2-0 up at that stage. We hit back immediately through cultured center midfielder Alex Benedetti when he slotted a side foot finish past their keeper in the 18th minute. Simone Caruso went on a mazy run down the left win and put us back on level terms in the 22nd minute. It was up to the loanee Francesco Monaco to finish the comeback off and he did just that when he powered a finish from the edge of the box past the keeper in the 54th minute. We held on and powered on through to the next round.

Serie B Playoff Semi Final

Leg One

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xek9ZEnmYWtBd1V3ygBhY9zUCWRbRpgj1sO4X9Z0.png

Perugia were our opponents in the Semi Final and I didn't think we would beat them over 2 legs as they finished 3rd in the league whilst we finished in 7th. By the 51st minute we were 3-0 down and things weren't going to plan. 3 away goals is never a good thing so I made us going attacking in order to try and gain some credibility and maybe come away with something. A goal from Andrea Mercurio made it 3-1 and then Mirko Tamborinno grabbed us a 2nd in the 74th minute. It ended 3-2 and it wasn't the worst result thanks to the 2 2nd half goals for us. The 2nd leg was made a little less challenging thanks to them.

Leg Two

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/oPxLPspdullPpFRgcvPiqULRUyKEh3g3NRTrt3D9.png

I said it would be made easier, and my god, that's exactly what it was. We turned up on the day having to win the game and we did that with ease. a 3-0 demolition ensured we progressed to the final. It was just one of those days when everything went our way. Francesco Monaco got the opener on 24 minutes after a side foot finish from 12 yards out. An own goal gave us the 2nd when a header deflected off him after wrongfooting the goalkeeper. Simone Caruso who was MOM grabbed the icing on the cake when he slotted home a penalty after winning it himself.

Serie B Playoff Final

Leg One

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/A0dxCzbJP84zw1GCmsLyGup1GMqGMHfltEHKv9om.png

The first leg of this strange 2 legged final was to be played at home. It started well but we couldn't find the back of the net despire a number of great chances. In the 41st minute Raimondo Cocuzza grabbed the opening goal after he curled a right footed finish from around the edge of the area past the Parma keeper. It remained 1-0 until the last 10 minutes when we grabbed a 2nd of the game through Antonio Lukanovic. It looked like it was going to end this way but we gave away a penalty after a clumsy tackle and they cooly slotted it home to grab what could be a crucial away goal. 2-1.

Leg Two

The away leg was a cagey affair for the first 30 minutes but we broke away after we cleared a corner and Franceso Monaco sped through on goal one on one and rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the net. 1-0 and we had a 2 goal cushion. We defended well although they should've drawn level but we managed to clear the header off the line in the 75th minute. The final whistle blew and the crowd went wild!! WE WERE IN THE SERIE A!!

PRE SEASON 2024/2025 ROUND UP

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Mqp8gN40MXGxXCg4HdaqTCNXHD0imADwNi6HNPsd.png

Pre-season for the upcoming season was a bit shorter than I'd have liked due to the fact we were involved in the playoffs but I won't ever complain at an unlikely promotion! After the triumph of last season we took a few days to assess our needs in the transfer market and got to work! We had a huge budget of £3.5million which is unheard of for a team like us. Our finances are on the rise and we received a massive £23.5m for tv rights for the upcoming season and I can only see them rising from now on...

Transfers In

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/w0RQ4Nuwp8hxgIpHVLYmkn6DQnTNbUVPs9tdtjSd.png

Joseph Gallotti is the signing that I'm most excited about. He's 22, and plays as an attacking midfielder on the right hand side! I managed to grab him on a free once his contract at Juventus had run out. He'll slot into the first team straight away and his potential is 5* so I'm hoping he will play a pivotal role in our relegation battle this season. With 15 pace and 17 acceleration he will certainly be a threat down the right hand side.

Alessandro Bordo is another youngster bought in from Froisone. He's another attacking player but can play anywhere across the line. He's 19 and has got 4* potential. He's another pacey player and I'm looking at him to play back up this season but also to come in when injuries will inevitably hit.

Federico Ferrari is back on loan and will be the number one left back for us. He played a crucial role last season and I expect him to do so again this season!

Giorgio Licini is also back on loan for the season and is the first team right back. Both are youngsters and both will hopefully improve as the season goes on!

Mattia Muroni has come into the club on a free transfer to provide a battle for places in the middle of the park. He's 28 and is here to provide experience after Alex Benedettti has decided he doesn't want to play for us anymore. He's got very decent stats and is a Deep Lying Playmaker.

Samuele Parlati is another midfielder I decided to bring in. We needed more depth in that position and he fits the bill exactly. He's our most expensive signing of the summer and cost us £475k. I expect him to be involved in a fair amount of matches this season.

Andrea Bussaglia will slot straight in on the left hand side of midfield. Having only cost us £43k I'm very pleased with this deal. He has 4* potential and has great first touch and passing stats. Could be a crucial player for us this season.

Simone Graz was a last minute buy when my main target for a striker decided he didn't want to join us at the last minute. Graz is a 30 year old striker with bags of experience in the league. I'm hoping he can nick us a fair few goals and help us stay up.

Pre Season Friendlies
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dTShIFp3iF7qpTNc0D4OamKxf2WByhShI5bLjeSw.png

We started off pre season with a few dodgy performances. A 0-0 draw with Montpellier where we didn't really play that well wasn't what I expected. We followed that draw up with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of fellow Serie A team Roma. They outclassed us really and I probably expect the same in the league fixture later in the season. 3 wins followed that on the bounce against Agonese, Rennes and Vibonese which was pleasing to see. We hit some good form going into the season and the new players had settled in well.

Coaching Qualifications

More good news for me on a personal note as I completed my Continental A License after a long hard slog. My reputation should increase and better jobs should be available once I start looking again. I immediately asked the board if I could start a new coaching course and they agreed. I'm now studying for my Continental Pro License.

A LITTLE UPDATE

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2MzRwWYXhynJTIMUti55aD3SccpEXKxgu74vHb1l.png

I've decided to take my career in a new direction. Catanzaro was providing me with a slightly impossible challenge in the Serie A and we were finding life very very difficult. I'll be coming back to Italy at some point to hopefully collect the rest of the trophies needed. I am sad to be leaving Catanzaro and they'll always have a place in my footballing heart now but this is not a 'Rags to Riches' career and it's time to move onwards. Who knows where I'll end up...

DESTINATION SOUTH AMERICA

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/GKpU1Cx0hiBuuUrur7NRcrfjbTEH2L5aAERjGgS0.png

https://i.imgur.com/aVg0kM7.png

I'd managed to land a job in South America, more specifically in the country of Peru. I've never managed in South America on FM before in any version of the game so this will be a learning curve for me. There is only the one league in Peru so I'll be hoping to get this ticked off as quick as I can then move onto somewhere else here in this continent with a vast football history.

Club Information

Cobresol play their football in the Peruvian city of Mocquegua and was founded in 2008 and have the nickname 'Los Dorados' which translates as 'The Golden Boys'. Average ticket prices are pretty damn good at only £4 to watch a game and if you fancy the whole season you can get that for £15 which seems like a great discount.

Club Facilities

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2tOglRPDzBCpRD3aHJDF2GXDGhA6SLOjnBe6Vrmx.jpg

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hXLkJqoiVD4sDgCq97YHFJmNSfV8JQNexhJTuUZB.png

The club plays it's home games at Estadio 25 which is a huge stadium for the club. It holds a capacity of 25,000 with 20,000 of those being seated. The club possesses average training facilities and poor youth facilities which is better than I expected to be honest. I'll be looking at improving these if I can get the chance to.

TORNEO DE VERANO 2025

I've been trying to figure out what the structure is in Peru, and to be honest I'm still none the wiser. I thought I was playing in their top division but I think I was playing in a pre season tournament which is then followed by the league. That's what I'm going for anyway, so there is now 2 trophies to win in Peru. 1 cup, and 1 league. Cobresol are relative new comers to the league and needed a few new additions to the team to help with squad depth as there wasn't too much when I took over.

Transfers

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/bkEn5tHL13kd52w9wXne52ecNF0Z4mSm7GqKZXre.png

Carlos Roberto

Carlos comes into the squad as an immediate challenger for the starting centre midfield role. He's a more defensive minded player who plays as a Carrilero. He has high stamina so can get up and down the pitch really well all game which is something that we'll need throughout the upcoming season. He's only 21 so has youth on his side as well, I hope he can improve to be a key player for me here in Peru.

Tomàs Lanzini

Tomàs is another central midfielder that I've brought in. It was a key area that I needed to strengthen and I believe Tomas has the ability to do so from the very start. He has experience as he is 34 years old and comes in to lead the team. He's an attacking player and his first touch and his freekick ratings are both above 15 which is really impressive.

Torneo De Verano Fixtures

We were drawn in Group B of the Toreno De Verano which arguably is the harder of the two groups apparently. Each group has 8 teams and the team that finished in first in each group went on to play each other in a 2 legged final. Heres how we got on.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/t6UoWqPhgKgJFpvM4slEEtEirFjCr40CriH5CjUb.png

As you can see from the results above, we are an extremely high scoring team. The downside of that is that we also concede a fair amount of goals too. We managed 8 wins in the group stage, 4 draws and 2 losses which is an extremely good performance for my first time managing in South America. Big wins against Sporting Boys, and Alianza Atletico were really pleasing for me. They were amongst the favourites to go on and win the tournament but we stopped them in their tracks. Luis Hernandez was the top goalscorer in the group stage managing a magnificent 7 goals which helped us on our way. We managed to lose against Melgar 4-1 which was our biggest defeat, they really did blow us out of the water in that game, but we managed to get our revenge in the reverse fixture.

Toreno De Verano Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/u79lbvzNDppB8OsRezKCaJcToeq6QxVTnootKu27.png

A cracking performance form the lads lead us to win the group outright. It was a close call and we were only 2 points ahead of 2nd place Cristal who pushed us all the way. 5 points behind us lay Melgar on 21 points in 4th position proving how close the group stage was. It was us who prevailed though and on we rode to the final. 40 goals for us and 30 against meant we ended up with a +10 goal difference which is always pleasing to see.

Toreno De Verano Final

Final Leg One

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/MBEDzYz34TzuLKS6QZVdSMm6xAbTsWZfOrDql5qp.png

We were at home in the first leg and playing in front our home fans gave us the edge in my opinion. What a game it was, it literally had everything: GOALS, RED CARDS and and a LATE WINNER. We went down early in the 3rd minute but responded magnificently in the 11th minute when Luis Hernandez grabbed his first of the game. We took the lead in the 20th minute when Jesus Vega headed home from a corner. It was 3-1 soon after when Bruno Ronceros slotted him from around 12 yards out. We grabbed a 4th before the 30th minute mark and the game was starting to look out of sight. It was 5-4 by half time though after our defence turned off and they capitalised. Carlos Roberto got himself a straight red card after an ugly challenge which didn't help matters. What a great first half of football for the fans as on the stroke of half time it was 10 men a piece, another ugly challenge. Luis Hernandez grabbed his second of the game on the stroke of half time and this meant we had the lead going into the half. It was a quiet second half in comparison as there was only 2 goals and 1 red card. Juan Carlos Chavez scored his 2nd of the game which turned out to be the eventual winner. 6-5 the end score and we had the advantage going into the 2nd leg.

Final Leg Two

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/YcqskjETlMhAjnhi06Ju6lEJnzgbe21UcEy2DCjQ.png

All we had to do was draw the game, and we did just that. A 3-3 draw was all that we needed to lift that trophy and the first of my time in Peru. Bruno Ronceros and Luis Hernandez (2) were the goalscorers for ourselves and I couldn't be happier with the performance. It wasn't the best but it's all that we needed to do away from home.

AN UNEXPECTED END...

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/GKpU1Cx0hiBuuUrur7NRcrfjbTEH2L5aAERjGgS0.png

There I was, minding my own business, performing what only could be described as miracles in the league, sitting comfortably a top of the league and working my way to the league title in Peru, then BOOM, out of the blue this happens...

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2pC5KdwrMpfE9pU1Yvadgd1pLx9Tg24PjMLpYCej.png

I had been sacked, the Cobresol board had terminated my contract and I was at a loss to the reason. It turns out that I needed to read the rules of the league a little more clearly as I'm meant to play players Under 20 for a certain amount of minutes each season, and I didn't stick to that. By not sticking to that rule, the league deduced all 51 of our points for that season and relegated me instead. I had gone from 1st to 16th in a matter of moments and my time in Peru is over...FOR NOW! (I'll be back sometime in the future)

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/5bJlzBUv7P7C8aoF0RcJKI2bIPXfPcIqOTw3rN06.png

Anyway, time to move on, I'm not sure where is next, but somewhere will stand out to me and I'll go there...

I thought that, but then again should have read the rules a bit closer @HockeyBhoy. I'll be back in Peru later in the challenge to get my revenge.

Landing On My Feet in SPAIN

I'd been out of a job since late 2024 and was struggling to find a job that excited me enough to apply for the job. I had a few MLS teams approach me but I didn't fancy the MLS just yet (from one weird rule set to another in quick succession is never a good idea.) I loaded up the Spanish leagues and the Oviedo job came up. I immediately applied and they came back and offered me an interview. The interview must have gone well because they offered me the job within the week and I accepted.

Club Information

Founded in 1926, Real Oviedo are a professional Spanish club currently playing in the Spanish Second Division. Their nickname is 'Los Carbayones and they enjoy a fierce rivalry with Sporting Guijon. Their other rivals are 'Racing Santander. The average ticket price is £15 which presents cracking value. A season ticket costs £232 and they currently have just shy of 18,000 season ticket holders. Former players include Paulo Bento and Santi Cazorla to name a few.

The Club play their home games at Nuevo Carlos Tartiere which is the biggest ground I've managed at so far this career. It holds a capacity of 30,500 people and is all seated. It's based in the city of Ovideo. The club possesses Great Training Facilities and Good Youth Facilities.

Performance This Season

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/osDaY464ojNqPLQ1iPr45isQDkD3IU2ioHvsd3fo.png

Ovideo sit in 8th position in the Spanish Second Division after playing 36 games of the season. The season has gone quite well for them to be honest and I'm not sure why they have sacked the manager. The team are predicted to finish in 10th position so are surpassing that. They have 60 points and lie in the last play off position available. There is currently 6 fixtures remaining in the season so I'll be looking at consolidating our position in the play offs and seeing what we can do in them if we qualify.

End of Season 2025/2026

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2XMeIeyeZB5DcgqmlDuAUzTNWHbGusB8ZXRUqaDK.png

I'd been Oviedo for a short time and I'd been in charge for 6 league games. Since being hire I had 2 days to get my squad ready for my first game in charge so it was a quick turnaround. I've made the one signing who will join at the end of the season. My old favourite goalkeeper from Catanzaro, Alessandro Livieri who I signed for my old team as well. He will be an instant improvement in that department once he joins the club. Anyway, back to this season and how we got on...

League Fixtures

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/u2fNVlVYi82Bk4TBGp0xLO66L3gzm3f3QcatubuM.png

It was straight into the action against a recently revived Numantia side. We made a fantastic start when Ronan Le Grand slotted the ball home and we were off. They levelled in the 29th minute and it stayed like that for the rest of the game...UNTIL in the 92nd minute we had a corner, and up stepped Lautaro Gianetti to head the ball past the keeper to spark the celebrations. A good solid win to kick things off.

League Leaders Alaves were up next and we played well, but not well enough to salvage a win. A 1-1 draw was the result after Richard Carillo had levelled for us in the 70th minute to rescue the point for us. A well deserved point against a strong outfit.

An away trip to Zaragoza is never an easy tie, and it was a fantastic match, with a lot of goalmouth action, but sadly not a lot of goals. There was one however and it fell to us. Poacher Ronan Le Grand (I keep typing Fedde Le Grand at first ha). nipped in after a loose back pass and punished them by passing the ball into an empty net. The 3 points were ours.

Mallorca are a team that I've always followed as I've been on holiday there plenty of times, but I wasn't going to be nice to them. In form Ronan Le Grand scored his 3rd in 4 matches as we went on to claim a 1-0 victory.

Our first defeat with myself in charge came at Tenerife. I was surprised at how much they controlled the game to be honest as their form wasn't great coming into the game. Maybe it was an off day for my lads, but we went down 3-1. Not the best result and our good form came to an end.

The last game of the season was a home match up agasint Girona. I expected a win and a win is what I got. A solid performance with not a lot of action but I'll take the 3 points. Winger Sergio Galleano went on a mazy run then curled a shot into the top right hand corner to get us the 3 points. A fitting goal for the win.

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/yWHBTCG0ECkAxjxYRCiaqzZaL0h1D1VXK6zQoxJZ.png

This kind of gives away what happens in the playoffs, but after the 6 games in charge, we had 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. Great form to put us into 5th in the league, 3 places higher than when I took over so I'll take that any day of the week. Alaves had won the league and were on their way to the Spanish Premier Division. Could I follow them via the play offs?

Play-Offs

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/CemLO1iyJg0C1z40OeETrVwrFoPex6EVkcgwa9AO.png

Leganes were our opponents in the semi-final and what a two legged affair it was with 15 goals being scored between us in the 2 matches. A thrilling 5-5 draw away from home in the first leg, with us coming from 3-0 down after 7 minutes to salvage a draw with a 91st minute equaliser from Richard Carillo. Goalscorers were Francisco Varela, Ronan Le Grand and Richard Carillo (2). The other was an own goal. We headed home to try and book our place in the final.

It was another late goal that saved us and helped us book our place in the final. It was another good game with plenty of action. Ronan Le Grand managed to grab 2 goals with the second being in the 87th minute with a fabulous strike from just outside the area. Queue the manic celebrations!!

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/f94KbAnUGmtkYNagQ507m5SJ2eWS6yPxkxAcpa0j.png

Unlike in the semi final, we played the 1st leg at home infront of our home fans and we gave them a performance for the ages. A comfortabnle 4-0 demolition of Sporting Guijon (our biggest rivals) was enough for me to feel comfortable heading into the 2nd leg. Ronan Le Grand bagged himself a hattrick, all calmly taken goals from inside the area and Yordan Osario netted the 4th before the 90 was up. Equally as important was the fact we didn't concede an away goal. Advantage us.

The performance in the 2nd leg wasn't as good as the 1st, but we did what we had to. We limited them to a few attacks, but didn't really create much ourselves. They scored the only goal of the game and we ended up losing 1-0. That doesn't matter though as we were UP! A 4-1 aggregate win meant we were returning to the Spanish Premier League.!!

Jumping Before I'm Pushed...

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2XMeIeyeZB5DcgqmlDuAUzTNWHbGusB8ZXRUqaDK.png

After gaining promotion I knew things were going to be tough in the Spanish Premier Division and things were exactly that. I couldn't strengthen the squad with enough quality and we were struggling in the league campaign. We had also been knocked out of the Spanish Cup. Pressure was building from the board so I decided that after a run of bad form, that I should resign and find somewhere else to continue my career. Oviedo have brought me another trophy, the Spanish Second Division (via the Playoffs, but they count.)

Onwards to somewhere else anyway...

Moving Stateside!!

I hadn't been out of the game long since resigning at Oviedo. I didn't want to hang around and I knew that America was up next for me so I immediately applied for the only job available in the MLS. Philadelphia Union. They came back within a week offering me an interview and after realising we were a perfect match they offered me the role as manager. I accepted and got on the plane and set up camp in Philadelphia. Next stop...the MLS title.

Unexpected News

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/TIeic7kUTNfPTn4JHIX1dJlczvUptwBFayQ20D4K.png

I've had to resign from the club as the league on the game hasn't loaded quite correctly for some reason, I hope it fixes itself later on in the game. Anyway, the league has no schedule and doesn't seem to be working so I played all my friendlies then nothing happened. I was looking forward to my reign in charge of Philadelphia Union and its a shame that I've had to leave thorugh no fault of my own.
I'll be back and hopefully the game will decide to work properly.

What a club name eh, what a mouthful that's going to be when I'm chanting my team onto the Icelandic First Division title later on...anyway, I've been hired at KV (that's what I'll refer to them as from now on) and I'm thrilled to be here. I decided that a move to Iceland was on the cards and it should be an excellent challenge for me. A little bit more about the club...

Club Information

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pMVoofqPDMc0g0Q4Xoo1cRqpf7G26GiZTWxV0dDt.png

Founded in 2004, FV are a semi-professional team playing in the Icelandic First Division. Having not won a trophy since 2011, they are in dire needs of one soon and thats where I come in. I'll be aiming to win the league and cup within a couple of seasons. They have okay finances and have 162 season ticket holders each paying a massive £90 each for the pleasure. The chairman loves the club and isn't thinking of leaving anytime soon.

The club play their home games at Frostaskjól in Reykjavik. The stadium holds a capacity of 1,500 people. They have adequate training facilities and poor youth facilities which isn't too bad for a team at this level. Let's hope we can produce atleast one good youth product in my time here.

Icelandic League Cup 2028

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/z08cg90ttjT3QCrrnOqYuf0pVcD8qaRrKOJwYc02.png

The hardest part of managing a team in Iceland is trying to get a decent team of staff in. I've only got two leagues loaded up, the Icelandic leagues and the Finnish leagues so choices aren't great. I've managed to get a threadbare staff together though and hopefully they can help me get a decent squad together.

The first major action for us was the Icelandic League Cup which is a group stage competition followed by a knockout if you get through. The top 2 teams in each of the 3 groups qualifies for the knockout tournament. We were drawn in group A alongside IBV, Selfoss, KR, Fjolnir, Leiknir R., Fram and FH. 4 of these teams were in the Icelandic Premier Division so we were up against it.

Fixtures

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/IRR0epU0WbxhnUAKBID5zHgVCVqKKbMXGNGq5YqT.png

We started off against IBV and came away with a massive 3-2 win which was a huge surprise. New striker Ásporsson grabbed himself a hattrick on the way and helped us to the 3 points. What a start.

We then went on a 4 match winless run against Selfoss, KR, Fjolnir and Leiknir R.. Selfoss beat us comfortably 2-1, then a draw against KR followed. It was a humbling 3-1 defeat against Fjolnir and finally we drew Leiknir R in what was the game of the group for myself.

We won 2-1 against Fram after Omarsson and Sigurosson netted the goals for us. A good victory against a decent team.

The final game of the groups came against FH and it ended in a boring 1-1 draw. Was it good enough to qualify and finish in the top 2?

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/V6EucbdzMPEcJp3yeY12oPAUikq39PvwnNijR1PQ.png

It wasn't good enough as we finished way down the league on 9 points. I'd take that as it's a new set of lads gelling with each other and they beat some good teams on the way.

KV: Season 2028/2029

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/z08cg90ttjT3QCrrnOqYuf0pVcD8qaRrKOJwYc02.png

The Icelandic League Cup was a good way to start the season for me and of course my time in charge of KV. We managed to get a few wins against higher ranked teams so I'm pretty pleased with how we performed. Going into the season ahead I knew that we needed to perform well against the teams that would be battling it out in the relegation battle like us. We were predicted by the media to finish in 9th come the end of the season.

League Fixtures

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WcF2PdV29a6WRqvBEqvLfVRaJQKbLqIeLxZ5LXON.png

Things didn't get off to the best of starts when we couldn't find a win in the first 5 games, although you could say it wasn't disastrous having only lost the once. We were totally outclassed by Por
who won that one 3-0. When we got our first win, what a win it was, a 6-3 thrashing against Afturelding who did sit bottom at the time. The first 3 points on the board for us. Our form remained patchy through the middle part of the season, we continued to pick up the odd point here and there but nothing where we went on a decent run of wins. The latter part of the season was much improved than the early beginnings of it however, and we picked up 6 wins out of the last 8 games against the teams around us in the league to ensure our safety in the Icelandic First Division. The main positive is that we scored a lot of goals this season, meaning we can hurt the opposition. The downside is that we also concede a lot, giving them the advantage right back.

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/9vg7PFeGAhYrBwQOfgA6QFotLQo37wwlbjrSKYCW.png

With the media predicting us to finish down in 9th position, we performed slightly better than that and finished in 8th. 31 points was more than enough to stay in the division with Afturelding,
and Fjaroabyggo the teams to go down a division. Fram won the league with a total of 53 points and Grindavik securing the 2nd automatic promotion spot. To end up with more wins than losses is a big plus for the season and gives me optimism for next year.

Icelandic Cup 2028

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/PbWnVyTxcmeitRwig7ydDqE7IkNBEzTgXFxorAq9.png

We performed excellently in this cup (which I was prioritising as the main source of a trophy from this season). Easy wins in the 1st two rounds against Afturelding and Volsunger meant that we were drawn against Kari in the 3rd round. Kari play in the amateur leagues in Iceland and we easily dispatched them 3-1. It was meant to be a much tougher draw in the Qtr Final against FH who are one of the better teams in the Icelandic Premier Division but we were more than a match for them, cooly sending them home after a 4-1 win. Our journey ended in the semi final though as we were put to the sword by KA after a 3-1 defeat.

KV: Season 2029/2030 1/2 WAY STAGE

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/z08cg90ttjT3QCrrnOqYuf0pVcD8qaRrKOJwYc02.png

Going into the new season having survived quite comfortably last season the media were predicting us to do a lot lot better this season and maybe even challenge for promotion to the Premier Division. I made a few key signings, mostly on loan as we didnt have any transfer budget, but with Hilmarsson joining up with us once again, and new boy Jonasson forming a formiddable strike partnerships, things were bound to be better than last season. With the season only being 22 games long, things move very quickly and you can get through a season in a night if you want to. Let's see how we're doing anyway...

League Fixtures

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/oQ7TScgsLnhb1CDz2rw3c9yRHarENGAPkjtC0Jfr.png

3 games into the season and we were unbeaten having drawn against Huginn, and got vital wins against Tindastoll and Fjolnir. Fjolnir were tipped as strong contenders pre season so to get a win against them was particularly pleasing. Our first loss was a surprise one against Leiknir R. who were tipped to be in a relegation battle and simply shocked us on the day. We then went on a 4 match unbeaten run winning 3 and drawing once. Wins against Por, Keflavik and IA sent us on our way as were were rocketing up the league. Selfoss came and inflicted our 2nd defeat of the season when we lost 3-0. An absolute stinker of a performance. It was much improved after that, winning our last 2 games in the league, against Vikingur O and Haukar.
It was an impressive first half to the season and we will look to improve even more in the 2nd half.

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tzGUFneCQz8mCuBa7aHvrr1t6pypXh2Yij9uTu70.png

We sit in 2nd at the half way stage. Relegation tipped Leiknir R are top of the table somehow and are shocking everyone including us. 23 points after 11 games is no mean feat and I'm really impressed with us. I'm beginning to build something here at KV and I'm here to stay. 7 wins in total out of the 11, 2 wins and 2 draws. I'll take that anyday. IA and Haugar sit in the relegation positions at this stage

ICELANDIC CUP

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/oxJ90zBue8v7NEiXd0fCTs1BwfuQY0tDr1fDiq4n.png

We're progressing nicely in the cup and we're into the Semi Finals. Having conceded only once in the competition this season, we're looking mightily impressive. Wins against Prottur R. and KR set up an intriguing match up against Valur who were doing well in the Premier Division. We sent them packing easily enough and then marched on and beat Selfoss who had beaten us in the league earlier on in the season. Our Semi Final opponents await us...

KV: Season 2029/2030 END OF SEASON

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/z08cg90ttjT3QCrrnOqYuf0pVcD8qaRrKOJwYc02.png

When you left us last time, we were sat in 2nd place in the league after 11 games. We were also into the semi-final of the Icelandic Cup. The season was progressing nicely. Our strikers were on form, our defenders were playing well and our wingers were setting people up left, right and centre. Could we keep it up...

League Fixtures

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/gOtr6FOl8jL5600GgtIzhAx7zN22OLngKAKfiqQN.png

Look at that...look at the number of red dots in the 2nd half of the season. 0!!! We had gone unbeaten and I'm over the moon with our form. 8 wins and 3 draws, thats 27 points out of 33. That's huge!
Draws against Tindastoll, Leiknir R. and Selfoss ruined the perfect 2nd half of the season but I'm not too bothered by that. We scored 30 goals in these 11 games and an impressive 4-0 win agasint Keflavik stood out as the best performance. We only conceded 11 goals as well, averaging out at 1 a game which is pleasing to see. Anyway surely we ended up in 1st place...surely?

League Table

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/AcWPRWqDVIwJY8Ocbp0dbT9Z6r34xH4qTTIOcfj1.png

WE DID! We smashed it in the 2nd half of the season and finished in top spot a massive 10 points ahead of 2nd place Por. Winning 15 games out of the 22, drawing 5 and losing 2 meant we ended up on 50 points. Por were behind us on 40 points. Huginn and Vikingur O finished in the bottom 2 and won the relegation prize. It was an impressive season and the league win meant we had won the double. Not bad if I do say so myself.

I don't actually have the fixtures for the cup as I played this season a few days ago. We won the semi-final but I'm not sure who it was against. It meant that we were drawn against high flying Premier League side Breioblik. They were the clear favourites and we were meant to just make up the numbers but infront of a crowd of 3,543 we stunned them and came out 4-1 winners. Our strikeforce was much to much to handle and punished their poor defending. Probably my favourite trophy win of my career to date. It was our 2nd win against Breioblik in a final this season. That mean we had won the treble!! It also meant that we had qualified to play in the EURO Cup next season which would be a cracking opportunity to rake in some money.

KV: Season 2031 1/2 Way Stage

After our stellar season last time out, we had made the step up to the Icelandic Premier Division. I wasn't sure what to expect but the board and the media expected it to be a struggle down near the bottom of the league and fighting it out with others to avoid relegation. I knew we had quality in the team as we had beaten teams in the Premier Division in the cup competitions many times so why not in the league stage as well?

I had made a few of the loanee signings permanent as they were the difference makers last season and also brought in some extra quality in the middle of the park to add to the competition for places there. The board agreed to upgrade the training facilities and the youth facilities as well which was a surprise as money was low.

We were going to have a lot of games this season due to the fact we were involved in the European Cup for the first time ever which adds a lot of miles to the players legs throughout the season if we do well.

We made a really good start to the league as we picked up 7 points out of a possible 9. An opening day win against Grindavik sent us on our way. A great win against FH was the best performance of the first half of the season where we really showed our attacking potential. Our form dipped after the opening 3 games and we only won a total of 4 games out of the 12 available, losing 5 and drawing 3. I'd probably take that if I knew we couldn't do any better, but I know we can...Most of the games have been really close affairs and we haven't really had our luck and we're definitely due some.

12 games in, we sit in 8th position and I'm fairly content with it, we could be higher up but to not sit in the relegation spot is a good achievement so far. I expect us to kick on though and start turning these close games into 3 points. We've got a total of 15 points. Vikingur R and Valur occupy the relegation spots as of now and Fylkir will be the champions if they carry on their form. European spots right now are filled by KA and Breioablik.

European Cup Qualifiers

We were drawn against Sion from Switzerland in the first qualifying round in the Euro Cup. A tough draw for us but I expected my lads to put on a good showing. A solid performance at home gave us a 1-0 lead going into the 2nd leg. A lucky own goal was the difference maker although we should've scored before that so I'm glad we got our bit of luck to help us on our way.

I thought that the 2nd leg was going to be a tough game, but I didn't realise that my lads thought the opposite. They went out there and absolutely tore Sion apart. A 6-1 thrashing Viktor Orn Jonasson was the main man scoring a hattrick.

We've been drawn against Irish team Cliftonville in the next round and I'm confident we can dispatch them and move onto the 3rd qualifying round.

We've progressed nicely in the League Cup, a competition that we've always seemed to do well in. Fjolnir provided our sternest test in the 3rd round but we played well and managed a 4-3 win in a cracking encounter. The first two rounds provided wins against Stjarnen and Kari respectively. Our attacking prowess is something to behold, as shown in the 7-0 demolition of Kari. Can we go onto win the cup again? FH stand in our way...
