To start with, you really should attempt the easier cuts, then only move on to the harder cuts once you have grasped the basics. It's like trying to enter the Tour de France a couple of weeks after learning how to ride a bicycle

If you said than i´ll do like it

Just to ask. Is it better to do cuts 360x360 or still keep to original format of 180x180? Does it make any difference?

I will resize it to 180x180 anyway, so might as well do it in that way...

@ all cutters,

You know how often we stumble upon hi-res sources, but lighting in the photo studio ruins jaw lines or (and) cheek bones.Well,it looks ugly to me after cut is done, especially when viewed on the dark background.
Here is the fix:
Basically it's just like removing snow from hair.

- Lock transparent pixels.
- Select the Clone Stamp Tool in Darken mode with 33% opacity.
- While holding the ALT key click on the nearest non-shiny skin colour.
- Release the ALT key and make rapid left clicks while covering the problem parts until you get satisfying results.

"Before and after" example:
https://s20.postimg.org/bwn6byqfh/91172596-original.png https://s20.postimg.org/wi1y3v80d/91172596-fixed.png

This trick works also with green hue spills on necks and jaws. The only difference is instead of Darken, you select the Hue mode for Clone Stamp Tool.

Is there any way to get these Sheffield Wednesday pictures in full?

https://www.swfc.co.uk/teams/first-team/

Bit annoying having to cut off top of their heads otherwise!

Hi all

Not sure if this is worth mentioning, but I notice some cuts are sometimes not very sharp when cut to 180px, just a quick adjustment using marquee tool and "Smart Sharpen" set to between 20-30 around the face only gives a nice finish without making the edge of the face or hair appear jagged. Just a thought.

Use this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv0itpQfGLs

It's in German and for FM11, but it's broadly similar.

Speaking for myself, I use Vertus Fluid Mask 3 and Photoshop CS5. I believe more recent versions are available of each, but that's what I use...

It should be the same size as it was, just with parts of the image transparent. Once you open the image in Photoshop, you can then crop, resize and otherwise tweak the image according to its necessities...

This tutorial is for high res soruces on a single colored background. And where there isn't too much hair details. I'll see if I maybe do another one on more hair details. Hopefully this will help some persons with some information on how to do cut outs

I haven't done any video editing for years but I think it turned out alright. My microphone gave a lot of distortion so had to go text based instead. Some text are show a little bit short but you can always pause the video.

Enjoy!

Can't watch it cos it's blocked with my work firewall, but I'm sure it's fantastic work. Text-based is even better as some people may not understand English and/or your accent and pronunciation, whereas anybody struggling with understanding some of the text can always pause and use Google Translate to get the meaning

I'm at work so I can't check the image on Photoshop just yet.

A couple of suggestions for what I can see so far:
a) Cuts must be 180x180 pixels
b) Ideally you only leave 2-3 pixels between the top of the head and the top of the cut and also between the bottom of the chin/facial hair and the bottom of the cut. This in order to maximise the area dedicated to the face. In cases like this where the neck is a bit long, you can use this technique to shorten it.

That said, both issues are relatively minor and can be solved at the initial cutting stage quite quickly, but it's important you keep them in mind in future cuts. Keep up the good work

Gracias...
