I arranged half a dozen friendlies to keep our match fitness up during the break, and two results I was very pleased with. We beat FC Red Bull Salzburgn and SK Rapid Wein who are 3rd and 1st respectively in the premier divison. This bodes well for us next season if we manage to secure promotion.

A good undefeated month, especially as the games are coming thick and fast, and a few injuries meant having to bump a couple of reserve team players up to be able to even field a full squad.
We are now 10 points clear and it's pretty much a 2 horse race now

This was a month for grinding out the results. Unfortunately our cup run came to an end after losing on penalties to Sturm Graz, but it's worth noting that we have not lost in 90min to top tier teams this season..bodes well for next year.
We managed a 0-0 draw with the only team that could catch us in the league SKN St Polten, and they slipped up against other teams which gave us the title with 2 games to play.
Novinic has been imense for us this year.
So our first trophy and time to look toward next season

We went out on pens to Sturm Graz mate.

Just to wrap things up, we finished off the last 4 games of the season without losing.
We finished the league 8 points clear, and as our games against the premier league teams in cups and friendlies went well this season, I am cautiously optimistic about next season.
We actually broke the record for the most points in the Austrian 1st Division which was gratifying.

First the squad; we had 2 leave..Colina who was knocking on a bit, and Pius who I didnt even know existed :p I wanted to bolster the defence and midfield as we were struggling in those positions near the end of last season when a few injuries hit. So I brought in 2 Defenders and 4 assorted midfielders to swell the ranks.
We eased through our friendlies scoring 13 goals in 4 games, and I was pleased with the performance of some of my new signings. One bodyblow was a hamstring injury to Zellhofer which will keep him out for 3 or 4 months. Hopefully Cittci and Formann can step up to the plate as Novinic's strike partner.

Well we started off with a cup match against non league Grazer AK. We struggled in this game and only a late goal by Fahrngruber prevented extra time and possible embarassment..this set a few alarm bells ringing.
My fears were unfounded however, as we played 2 teams from Vienna next: SK Rapid Wein(one of the league favourites) and FK Austria Wein and we gave them a right good 'waltzing'. Novinic has 4 goals already in his 2 games, including a hat-trick against Rapid, and the FK Austria game was over in the first 20min.
So we're top of the table after the first 2 games won, with 7 for and only 1 conceeded. Our remit this season is to avoid relegation...I dont want to get too cocky as it's early days, but if we keep up this sort of form, I might be getting out of Austria this season

Just looked back over your career, I pipped you by 3 points mate

Another good month for us, with 5 games unbeaten, including a draw against one of the favourites Red Bull Salzburg. Goals were spread throughout the team a bit more, but our centre-half Stipe Vucur has started to make his presence felt at corners, heading in 3 goals.
So after 7 games, we are 3 points clear at the top with a very healthy goal difference.

Another 4 games unbeaten including another 3 goal slapping of Rapid Wien. Zelihofer was back from injury quicker than expected and already chipped in with 2 goals. We eased through to the next round of the cup after a difficult away tie to last season's winners. Enes 'the goal machine' Novinic brough his seasons tally to 9
Wolfsberger who have been on a great run reduced our lead to 2 points but still happy sat at the top of the table with a nice goal difference which might become important at the end of the season.

Well the run just keeps going. Another month unbeaten, and apparently we have not lost a league game since April. We only managed a draw against Wolfsberger; a game I would liked to have won to take a bit of the pressure off.
The cup run continues, albeit with only scraping a 1-0 win over local rivals Austria Lustenau, who are a league lower than us.
3 more goals for Novinic, putting him on 12 for the season. How we'd cope without him I do not know.
I said last month that our goal difference could prove to be important, and at the moment it is what keeps us top of the table.
Maiden71
I think it could go to the wire unless Wolfsberger start to slip up. The cup is looking quite good too as a number of the big clubs are out already.
Maiden71
Well the unbeaten run finally came to an end when Admira Wacker got revenge on us for knocking them out of the cup. The rest of the month we didnt play particularly well, but ground out the results needed to stay top of the table.
4 more goals for Novinic taking him to 16 for the season.
Still neck and neck with Wolfsberger at the top.

If he gets injured we are buggered, as well as being a goal machine he creates a fair few too. Everytime he gets the ball in the opponents half I expect us to score.

Think so. This time of year I dont get much time to play..being an accountant and it being tax return season etc
Maiden71
Only 2 games in December and we drew them both. Would have liked a win against title rivals Wolfsberger, but at least we didnt lose.
Seems Wolfsberger slipped up somewhere as we now have a point more. Nice to be top going into the winter break.
Maiden71
Well the winter break got off to a bad start with a 2-0 loss, then we didnt concede a single goal in 7 of our next 8 matches. The only blip was a draw against Admnira Wacker who we've struggled against all season.
Novinic has reached 20 league and cup goals for the season.
We are now 4 points clear of Wolfsberger, so we can now afford to lose a game.

Only 2 games in March, and we lost them both. We've struggled against Mattersburg all season, drawing the previous games against them. I hope the wheels aren't starting to come off.
By a strange quirk of fate, Wolfsburg have hit a shite run of form too so we're still 4 points clear.
Maiden71
April was always going to be the make or break month in my mind, with 4 league games, including a match with title rivals Wolfsburger, plus the cup 1/4 final..against Wolfsburger. We came from behind to get a hard fought extra-time victory in the cup, then 4 days later beat them in the league.
Losing against mid-table SC Weiner Neustadt was annoying, but we are now 6 points clear at the top with a far superior goal difference, and in the cup semi..I can almost taste the complimentary peanuts on my flight to Belorus :p
Maiden71
Pre-season we were 40-1 and favourites to get relegated, and with a match to spare, we have won the Premier League.
We beat Red Bull Salzburg twice in 4 days, one of them an epic cup semi-final, where we went 2-0 until just beforev half-time and came back to win 4-2. We followed this up with a couple of losses, but with Wolfsberger dropping points, we clinched the title against our bogey team of Mattersburg, with who else but Novonic scoring the all-important goal.
The final unimportant game against Sturm Graz was a landmark game for me personally..
We finished up the league with a 9 point margin..so now on to the FA Cup final, and hopefully we can get outta Dodge.
