1. Extract folder to Documents/Sport Interactive/Football Manager 20##/graphics/kits/put in here!
( If there is no graphics folder there, create "graphics" )
2. FM15/16 - click 'Preferences'...click 'Interface'....click unticked 'Use caching to decrease page loading times and click tick 'Reload skin when confirming changes in preferences'.....click 'Reload Skin'.
3. FM17/18 - click 'Preferences'..click 'Interface'....click unticked 'Use caching to decrease page loading times and click tick 'Reload skin when confirming changes in preferences'.....click 'Reload Skin'.
THEN ALWAYS when you download other pack, DO 'CLEAR CACHE then RELOAD SKIN AS ALWAYS after download to folders.

Here's the screen which shows that 3d kits are indeed not working in Champions league:

To correct this, go to kit colours in editor (or ingame editor) and delete or remove everything. Then add this 5 basic items and don't assign any competitions to them. Just add them and put basic colours, like this:

Then save game and restart(!). After restart, kits are working fine (same match):

and i open the pictures i tried it but chelsea home away 3d kits not showing may be manchester ok

After deleting, did you add again shirt and other items and assigned proper colours? Game restart is usually required after that.
Also, you have to click on "show licenced kits" on drop down menu when you're done.

I have the solution to the problem. Now I can play with the kits in all competitions. It's a bit tedious but you can. First, enter the ingame editor of the game. For this to work, you must do it one by one, you can not edit several teams together. That is what makes it tedious.
We will edit the chelsea, after loading the game and enter the internal editor, choose edit kit.
Then delete all the kits you see on each tab, home, away, including the goalkeepers, add a kit, a sock, a short, an icon and a text on each tab, put the color corresponding to everything. When you do this with all the tabs, enter tagain to the ingame editor and choose show licenced kits, save and close the game. When you reload your game you will have to wait to play a game of champions or carabao to see the result. Do not try to see a previous match because it will not show, just wait to play a game of one of the competitions to see that the problem is fixed.

Hi mate when you say start a new season do you mean start a new season in your current game or do you mean start a brand new career? thank you

I'm afraid that in order to ensure this issue does not rear its head in cases where a club has different kits in real life depending on the competition they are in, you would have to download the kits colour changes file in advance before starting a new career. If you have the in-game editor available, you should also be able to do so as well but it's not really recommended if you're not too sure about what you're doing...
