Full FM2019 Announcement

London, England – 6 August 2018: With fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming season, Sports Interactive and SEGA are delighted to announce that would-be managers will get the chance to ensure their team finishes top of the league when Football Manager 2019 hits the streets on Friday, November 2nd with a new look brand.

Football Manager 2019 will be saying goodbye to the iconic ‘Manager Man’ who has featured on the cover of every Football Manager game since FM 2005, to be replaced by a manager’s eye view of the pitch as the gaffer and players head down the tunnel ahead of a big match. With redesigned logos, loads of new and improved features, and the implementation of the DFL Bundesliga license for the first time, Football Manager 2019 is set to be even more comprehensive in its realism than ever before. See the new look for the first time in this exclusive trailer:

Poor "Manager Man", one of the first but not the last managerial casualty of the upcoming season!

On a more serious note, I haven't fallen below min specs yet on this 10yr old computer of mine, but what am I most in need of upgrading? My dxdiag spec is:

Any thoughts appreciated!

To be honest, if it's that old, you might as well replace the whole thing if you're looking at an upgrade, as you'd see a dramatic performance increase. If you're quick, there's quite a few Ryzen 1st Generation offers about, as they've just been replaced by Gen 2, so places are trying to get rid of stock. You could also look at the Ryzen 2 APU's, depending on what other gaming you do.

If that's not possible, then memory and possibly an SSD? You won't be able to get hold of a better compatible CPU any more (short of getting really lucky on Ebay, etc.), and a GPU upgrade is largely irrelevant for FM.

I am interested in getting a new lap top to use for the new FM2019. The specs above are the min requirements, but what sort of spec should i be looking at? FM is the only game i use on the PC so I am assuming I will not need a powerful graphics card.
Any help appreciated

Something like this would be a fairly big improvement for that budget https://www.ebuyer.com/831822-asus-vivobook-k542uf-laptop-k542uf-dm218t

Much better processor and graphics card.

Or if you're not too bothered about the graphics as FM isn't too GFX heavy then this would be ok https://www.ebuyer.com/818883-lenovo-v330-15ikb-laptop-81ax001huk

Personally I would go with the second one for the extra processing power.

Thank you. So it is best to focus on processor speed as opposed to Graphics card in your opinion

I purchased the lap top suggested after I did a bit of my own research. I have always wanted a laptop exclusively for FM......a bit excessive I know but I now have it. Thanks for your help

I recently purchased a new PC for the first time in around 8 years and my main thoughts when buying was to make sure it could run FM as fast as possible. So you're certainly not the only one.

The most instantly obvious difference between Football Manager 2019 and every FM that’s come before it is the refreshed user interface. Experienced managers will notice the difference on almost every screen – it has a cleaner and fresher look, and we’ve tried to make things easier to find than ever before.

The changes are particularly pronounced in two of the most significantly overhauled modules; tactics and training. Both areas see a host of small, but meaningful changes (many of which were inspired by user feedback from our forums) which are designed to work for all users, no matter how experienced.

These visual changes don’t just apply to the PC/Mac game either, as this new look – designed to integrate seamlessly with the new Football Manager logo and brand colours – means that FM will have a familiar feel across the Mobile and Touch versions too.

The end result is a new look that’s instantly familiar to FM die-hards, but also completely fresh. Most important of all, though, this is not just change for the sake of it; FM19 is not just the best-looking version of the game ever made, the combination of the updated user interface and new manager induction system [hyperlink] will make this easiest in the series to pick up and play.

There are a few extra design and interface features that will be discussed on our social media channels but, for now, enough words. Here’s what FM19 looks like…
