2 solid wins in the league kicked off the month with a bang. 4 goals scored and 0 conceded. We ended the month on a disappointing note after drawing 3-3 against Aue after being 3-0 up. They scored all 3 in the last 10 minutes so I am hugely disappointed after throwing away that lead. We also progressed in the German Cup. We will face Hannover 96 in the 2nd round. A tough ask but you never know in cup football.

INJURIES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/yWghBrVXKpfFnfwSDN5YRNHDENPhw0cWJOhJ6Rz5.png

I'm finding injuries to be very annoying at the moment. I think I need to tweak my training methods as I seem to be getting a lot of injuries. Key players are going down and are out for a while. Simon Zoller, Chris Willock, and Marcel Risse all picked up injuries this month and have left me shorthanded in key positions.

---------------

FIXTURES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hROj6TeHVEjSC6gHDoHfnEVfweIKsfKMbUW4p3rI.png

We carried on the strong form into September and managed 3 wins out of 4. The other result being a 3-3 draw. Jhon Cordoba came in for the injured Simon Zoller this month and seems a very confident replacement. He scored 2 in the 4 games which I'm happy with. Louis Schaub also grabbed 2 goals and continued his strong start to the campaign. He, unfortunately, got sent off in the last match which means he will be out for the next match. St Pauli are meant to be 2nd favourites for the league this season so to share the points is not a disaster. We went down to 9 men as well which made the task a lot harder so I'm relatively happy with that result.

League Table

We stay top and have moved 1 point clear of VFL Bochum. 17 points from 21 is more than pleasing at this stage. Long it continue.

Cheers @Dan, let's hope I can stick around here a bit longer than normal. Currently really enjoying this save. When does the annual World Trophy Hunt start...?

@bigmattb28 I think I want to make 1. FC Köln the best team in Germany first of all. Win the champions league a number of times. I usually just let what happens happen, see where things take me. Really enjoying it so far.

FIXTURES

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/bnAWZbZZf3I3aHSdoYdAtwIk9SNqNxFQHKVKzjax.png

Our strong start to the season continued as we took our unbeaten run to 11 games. 4 league games this time round, 3 wins and a draw is really pleasing to see. We're picking up a lot of points and that's the aim of the game. We possibly should have won all 4 games in the league but 3 is good enough for me. The draw came against Bielfield who are doing well themselves and are up there in the table.

The German Cup continued and it was our matchup against Hannover 96. We matched them in every department and were unfortunate not to come away with the win. Ultimately we lost on penalties. We probably weren't going to win the competition but it's a shame we are out all the same.

I promoted Luis Muller from the youth team after he has performed well for a number of games scoring for fun. He's made a couple of substitutes appearances so far and I'm happy with what he's contributed.

FIXTURES

Another month, another step towards an unbeaten season. This time, only the one win which is slightly disappointing. We played 2 mid table teams and 1 title rival. The big game came at the start of the month against Hamburger SV. They took the lead early on against the run of play, but we hit back with a superb move and strike from Chris Willock. A point here is definitely better than 0. It keeps them behind us which is where we want them.

I decided to give Lasse Sobiech a run in the team after he was complaining about not having playing time and being an influential player (this seems to happen a lot in this version, either that or I'm rubbish at balancing my squad out.) and he rewarded me with 2 goals (both penalties) in a cracking 3-0 win. A draw to end the month and we are still unbeaten after 14 games in the league. Happy days.

14 games in, top of the league with that familiar 4 point cushion. Hamburger SV still haven't played their game in hand so it still could become a 1 point lead. This could go down to the wire.

The unbeaten run is over, and what a way to lose that streak. We went down 3-0 to Jahn Regensburg who to be quite frank, aren't even that good. We were so poor on the day but I can't expect to win them all. They did deserve to win the game but if we had played to our potential then we would have won. Simple. We will move on...

2 4-0 wins got us back on track and closed out the first half of the season as we enter the Winter Break. VFL Bochum who were meant to challenge up at the top end of the league proved no match for us as we stormed past them and cemented our place at the top of the league. Louis Schaub has gone under the radar but is actually the leagues top goalscorer with 10 in his 17 games this season. Not bad for a center midfield player.

League Table

Half way point in the Bundesliga 2. 5 points is the gap now and we are starting to look really good for promotion. I don't want to go up via the playoffs though, only winning the league is good enough from here on in. Hamburger SV are still the main threat but I'm hopeful they will start to die off and let our lead grow some more.

TRANSFERS / OUT

Jorge Mere - CB - Schalke 04 - £12.5m (£17.75m)
I had to let him go, the offer was too good to turn down. He wanted a chance to play int he Bundesliga this season and he got the opportunity. He also picked up far too many yellow cards for my liking so that was a factor in letting him leave. Lasse Sobiech has performed well and he will now start more in his place. I've promoted a player from the youth squad to act as cover.

Marco Hoger - CM - Lokomotiv Moscow - £4.7m (5.75m)
Another one who wanted to leave the club as he wasn't getting playing time. I'm not going to miss him as he never featured for me. Cashed in on him whilst I could.

YOUTH PLAYERS PROMOTED]

Jan Thielmann - ST

Jan scored 7 in 9 starts for the youth team so I thought it's a good time to move him on up and continue his development in the senior squad. Let's see how he gets on.

5 league games to start us off after the Winter Break. A mixed bag of results for us including 3 wins, 2 draws and a loss. The loss came against Furth who absolutely outplayed us, which is a shame to see. To be honest we haven't played that good football at all this month. We need to start to get back to our attractive attacking football from before the winter break. We were lucky to grab a draw against Union Berlin but we dug out a result there. We ended the month on a win which is important as we look to kick on and cement our status at the top of the tree.

We ended the season on a high. 3 games played and 3 more wins to add to our tally. We got our revenge against Jahn Regensburg who battered us previously in the season and hammered them ourselves 6-2 with that main man Cordoba grabbing 4 goals himself. We grabbed a 2-0 victory away from home on the final day to bring our total wins on the season to 23. Not bad if I do say so myself.

You can see that a number of our players ended with a great average rating but it was Louis Schaub who came out on top with a 7.53 leaving Jonas Hector trailing behind on 7.42 in 2nd place.

Goalwise it was clear who our top scorer on the season was. Jhon Cordoba notched up an impressive 22 during the season making him the league golden boot winner as well. Louis Schaub managed a great 13 which is decent for a midfield player.

2 games into my first season back in the Bundesliga and things are going ok. A disappointing start to the campaign as we lost 2-0 to Hertha BSC on the opening day. We were outplayed and I thought that the difference in quality was clear to show. We bounced back against the champions FC Bayern with a sensational last-minute winner courtesy of new boy Olexandr Zinchenko! What a victory, and one that I certainly didn't expect. Old foes Hamburger SV were our first victims of the month. We continued our good form against them with 1 1-0 win courtesy of a Clemmens bullet header. We then faced high flying RB Leipzig and came away with an unlikely victory after a Jhon Cordoba curling effort. Borrussia Monchengladbach hosted us next and outplayed us for the whole game and they came away with all 3 points. We then got a sneaky last minute victory on the last game of the month against Schalke to make it 9 points out of 12.

6 games into the Bundesliga season and we sit in 3rd position. I can't believe what I'm seeing from the lads and who knows if we can keep up this form. I certainly hope so. 3 points off the top spot...
