Welcome to my thread where I will be travelling around the world, playing in leagues that I haven't done in my time here on FM and hopefully get some trophies along the way. During this save I have got some guidelines that I have set myself for.
  • Before moving to another country, I have to complete at least one season in that country that I am in as a minimum.
  • If I win the league and cup in that country, I have to move no matter what.
  • Must only buy local players (can have a player that is currently playing in the league that isn't local).
  • Don't get sacked.
I have done a random order for which countries to manage in first and the results are:
Hong Kong
Finland
Romania
Spain
Slovakia

I think you'd probably be best trying to complete the challenge without a couple of those set rules personally. The local players and not to be sacked and rules you'd struggle with i feel.

Agree with Dan, I'd drop the local players rule as that will probably hamper you and conflict with your don't get sacked rule, especially in Hong Kong as if you're only signing Hing Kong players you'll struggle, I found in Hong Kong having a decent Chinese or Korean player really helps as that league is quite poor. Pegasus had a Spanish striker Salva Chamorro and he bossed that league. I

In terms of the sacking part, that is mainly just a guideline for myself. As for the local part, isn't that part of the challenge (yeah it might frustrate me but its not going to stop me from going all out).

Cool man, jsut see how it plays out. Massive game with Kubi coming up for you, could make or break what's left of the season. Fingers crossed for a good result.

So the first club on version two of this save is back in Finland with HIFK being the team that I will be managing. This is a club that was predicted at the beginning of the season to go straight back up to the first division but because of their form not being good they sack their manager because of the form that they have had throughout the last few weeks.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/t23qzjw4fd7l7SOySLP82a1iSyduXffozXaoYv9Q.jpg
This does mean as I will be managing the team through this system as they currently lie in 5th place and are out of the running for a play-off spot which isn't the feeling that you want from a team that got relegated this season (especially when in real life, they won the league by two points).

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/VC9VvcFFBBHmuYQamn31i69DxIvuFXKQEOqjwXBk.jpg
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/T8cyO8oMG60sh0EWShM7cQGXryV3n4k2zZ1vrlLr.jpg
The top two players as rated by the club and other the fact that they are a bit on the older side as I wanted them too but they are homegrown which shouldn't be a problem in terms of the rules for this league. It will be interesting to see what might happen with this team going into the future with us with three home games to end of the season and with no threat to relegation, we can have a sign of relief.

So I once again I got the role as manager of the Hong Kong U23's for the international side of the game as I managed them in the 2018 Asian Games which was held in Indonesia. The goal for the tournament was simple enough and that was to get past the second round which they have done in the previous two editions of the tournament. But well how do I say this lightly we did more than that.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/z5b4mYPiJCID7xWtWR9uTh0gIZxkLtbamVzUhWVS.jpg

As you can see here we actually killed it in the Asian Games to cause the biggest upset in possibly the history of the Asian Games as we only conceded four goals for the entire tournament and score 22 goals in return which is mental to think about especially when you destroy the UAE 7-1 in the final of a major tournament.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/jdyTWTU3TJHIGDCzLbb9ZKrmtACqD5iJPYB7h9J7.jpg

The bracket of the set tournament where I think our toughest opponent properly was China as we had to go down to the wire there but we did hold them off and took it out.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZXHVfaTTmA1fYfSkHRbLZuLFtxEeOAU2l5rmCyhK.jpghttps://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/QzMgDc1Mpx1yj0v3ehHnE0Pkk1TnvzTgyHw6mVZS.jpg
A couple of records from that set game which is good but personally I don't think they are the actual records for the Asian Games but I will take them none the less from the competition. So now for me I will try and target qualifying for the AFC U-23 Championship which Hong Kong has never qualified for.

So we have safely navigated the first season with two wins to end our season with some confidence leading into the first full season as manager of HIFK with two good wins against Klubi-04 and FC Haka. We were unlucky to lose to AC Oulu in the opening game but nothing you can do there.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/RdQLkwx5ACl3Y9IT8EdCURSvjKusxBORo6Ugfjeh.jpg
So our Finnish team finished in fifth place for the season which for a team that should have been promoted isn't good but at least there is now a real target to go for and that is to go for promotion and into the top flight of Finnish football.

Yeah, that was a good start in my eyes as at least I can relax and actually go into a season without needing to worry. Also Brexit has been revealed just in case I want to manage in the United Kingdom and actually is a good Brexit I think.

Ii had that Brexit option on my first save this game and it turned out okay for my Newcastle side. It does limit you a little with bringing in some Europeans that previously would have been fine, but if you have the money there isn't much of a problem. Obviously won't affect you, however.

Good work so far, class in the Asian Games!

So the qualifying draw for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship has been revealed and all I can say is if we don't win this group, I will resign from the post as Hong Kong U-23 manager with the draw that I got as I have been given a draw that features Laos, East Timor and North Korea which is clearly a winning group as we avoided South Korea and China which for me would properly be the strongest two teams in the East Asia region. Let's just hope that I don't screw it up.

So pre-season has started in Finland with our team playing in six friendlies throughout the four months as we worked on the two tactics. The first one being a 4-3-3 Wide which will properly be our main formation in the league matches. The other formation is going to be a 4-4-2 for matches which might be a little more difficult and also shaking it up if needed. Also during the pre-season, we have the first round completed in the Suomen Cup with the team going 2-2-0 in the four matches that we played to finish top of the group with eight points. This means that we qualified to the second round where we will meet Santa Claus which is a winnable game.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/iG4hl3vxuIF8yELvUGqNYl7VXUHgOMFJ509I3qto.jpg

The transfer market has to be a bit busy with six coming into the squad while seven will be leaving for other clubs with two of them heading over to Sudet while the rest of the moves are to lower-tier squads which hopefully won't be a problem. On the opposite side we brought in six players on a free transfer which is properly where I will be getting most of my transfers for the first couple of windows. The main goal is to hopefully try and bring in some youngsters who got released into our team and be good players (isn't that everyone that plays it) and with these top 3 players that I think might do well us some good things (yes I know they are all defenders)

The 2020 AFC U-23 qualification took place during late March with our team being drawn into Group H with Laos, North Korea and East Timor. You may see that our team looked like it struggled towards getting through with big results. In the opening match against Laos, we outplayed our opposition only conceding three shots from the opposition as we fought for a 3-0 victory. The second match against North Korea though was indeed our hardest match of the group with our team getting the lead in the 84th minute before a stupid error from our keeper gave North Korea a chance to equalise. But a late injury winner somehow got us out of the mess. In the final match, we had 24 shots to East Timor one shot and somehow their keeper only let one goal in the entire match which kind of sucks.

@bigmattb28 @Dan Yeah I did do what I needed to do and now I will have to wait for which teams Hong Kong will face in their first appearance at the AFC U-23 Championship.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/team/129129.png

So this is a short little update to say that pre-season is now over with our team losing a couple of match against the top division teams in the friendlies before taking on our second round opponent in FC Santa Claus in the cup. Playing a weaker lineup than some of the other matches, we did what needed to be done with a 3-0 victory to exceed our expectations that the board set for us which was the second round. The win saw our team score with three different goalscorers which are always nice to see the different scorers and not just one person getting the goals.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/MGMVHrOVKvoJzUqHSQJYNcd0yh3DlmZ1eoXbQsm3.jpg

I say that lightly as the next month is going to be hectic with nine matches during this month which means there will be a lot of changing to our starting 11 so that the players will be rested up for the future games to come. This includes the quarter-final against VPS in the cup and hopefully, we will see where we will stand after this first month because of this hectic schedule that is Finnish football.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zkVZOfrZ4FYEPIHZ1wXV2zQlUHXkoDa3VSsaGYRT.jpg

Oh, by the way, no pressure in terms of the betting odds as they expect us to finish top of the league and at 1-5 odds the pressure is really on.

So we are out of the Finnish Cup today as we played a second-string XI against VPS who competes in the top tier of Finnish football. Thinking that we would properly be eliminated by four or more goals, I was actually surprised that we lasted until the last minute of injury time to lose the match which for me was actually shock as I was hoping that maybe it would get to extra time so I would bring in some fresh legs. But it wasn't to be with Timi Lathi scoring a 95th-minute winner to book VPS spot in the semi-finals.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SjY5vK16YmA6rquWQoTSx71q1rgZIGbZRKEDqIM4.jpg

This the proof that we played with five debutants with most of them being in the HIFK 2nd team with even a couple of them being from the youth team as we swing our main focus towards the league as of the time I am writing this we have two games in hand over the top placed team.

Update from the Suomen Cup and we have a winner with VPS taking out the title in extra-time against FC Honka with four different goalscorers for VPS in the victory. as they take home their first Suomen Cup in their history and in this save. While for FC Honka they were unlucky to lose as they did get the first goal but it was not to be for that case.

One month has passed in the 2019 season and for our team in HIFK, it has been a good run with the only blemish being the quarter-final of the Suomen Cup where we lost by only just a whisker in injury time. Other than that, the defence has been really strong with us only conceding two goals in league competition which is something that I am happy to see this early in the competition. In reality, it could have been six goals without the opposition conceding but an own goal against TPV Tampere ruined that bit. Of course I am not going to back down as we are seven games into the season and we still have twenty to go.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/PpavtwwmG9O77I6YzR6soljPApoIxmqLgxXm0YNj.jpg

As we head to June, our team is only three points behind the leaders in AC Oulu who is also unbeaten after the first month. The good thing is that we do have a game in hand over AC Oulu which we will play during the next month so that everyone will be to up to date with the games played. On the other side of the table, we have the two new teams in TPV Tampere and Gnistan Helsinki in the bottom three with the Kemi Kings who got relegated last season in that list.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/37FFaVjn8M6dB5QBlQ8upvVfC1XbmZfXmzWB36U3.jpg

The first awards of the season were also revealed and HIFK got both awards for the month of May with Ulmanen getting the goal of the month with Jurvainen finishing runner-up in the goal of the month category. While in the Manager of the Month, we received the award by the virtual of luck with both us and Lahderinne getting the same win percentage but I just got over him somehow, for no apparent reason.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/rbtTZk88pt8h4KqXIe2Zrc7CMFE6tbJAWYlikwc0.jpg

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pi5FjOGUnYxWIEl5jmIfMs0qaco3MBjbBVNDeogC.jpg

Next month will be a little bit quieter for us with seven matches on the schedule for the month of June including a critical game against AC Oulu which I am calling it now, is a game which a win will be very valuable in terms of the race to the title especially when we do that have game in hand which we hope we can capitalise on.

That is what I am hoping for too, anyway let's quickly go around the other leagues that I have loaded plus Europe.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/GgrBlylwW8D6pGRdzWZVz3n53gsDGVkhtwP4S0xB.jpg

We start our journey in Spain with Valencia taking out the title by a single point over Real Madrid with Barcelona a further two points back in third place. Atletico Madrid finished in the final Champions League spot with Bilbao, Villarreal and Levante all making the Euro League.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dy8wSBk2U3zEndQ7HuPIuZzj3FI3OZ9QhhL8hcHY.jpg

In Slovakia, we have Slovan Bratislava taking their tenth title in the Slovak league by a single point over Spartak Trnava. Also gaining European football we have Zilina and Trencin.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/MN5dyKJA84x2FYHQcVkjNPn1V3m7vai9Z11qNyiR.jpg

Romania sees the same old team (I think) with Steaua Bucharest taking out the title because of the split rule that is in play and won't be able to show here. Gaining European football will be Univ Craiova, CFR Cluj and Botosani.
