Roma trash the Blaugrana in the semi-final first leg
Lamela was once more the man who shined in tonight's spectacular win by Roma over Barcelona, which they has already met in the group stages; the Argentine opened the score after 9 minutes with a header on a cross from Balzaretti, then doubled his tally few minutes later when Gabbiadini forced Valdes to a difficult save, and the Argentine was there to tap the rebound in with his head. Not more than two minutes later Roma widened the gap again, taking advantage of a clearly shocked Barcelona, as De Rossi found Destro, who laid it back for Pjanic; the Bosnian saw Florenzi's run, served a perfect ball to put the Italian midfielder through on goal, and he didn't miss.

To complete Roma's astounding first half, Destro scored the fourth, heading home a free kick from Pjanic. In the second half Roma went close to a fifth, but Barcelona played much better than in the first half and managed to test youngster Santopadre a number of times, even if mostly from long range. Nonetheless, the young keeper, forced into the squad by the emergency which has hit Roma, was attentive and didn't let any past him, keeping a clean sheet.

Santopadre also set the record for the youngest player in the Champions League, being only 16 years and 15 days old.

Sampdoria keeps the new champions from winning
It was an entertaining match between Roma and Sampdoria tonight in Genoa; the home side got the lead thanks to a free kick from Kahlenberg but Ademilson immediately equalised; with a half an hour on the clock, Kahlenberg scored another free kick, but as the half time whistle loomed over the players, Ademilson equalised again.

In the second half the match remained tight, until with fifteen minutes to go Pisano scored a casual goal with a wrong cross from the right flank; however, Sampdoria were denied the win by Ademilson's third goal right at the end of the game, with the Brazilian turning into the net a loose ball in the home side's box.

Roma lose at the Camp Nou but reach the last act of the competition
Even if Roma once more lost the return leg of the tie, tonight at the Camp Nou they didn't put on show a woeful display as in other occasions; Dani Alves gave the Blaugrana the lead with a beautiful free kick, but Roma didn't lay down and repleid with Pjanic in the 19th minute, the Bosnian being the quickest to get onto Valdes' short deflection and slam it into the net.

The first half ended level, a fair result for what was seen on the pitch; however in the second half Barcelona found the winner thanks to Pedro who received a cross from the right flank, shot from close range but was denied by the keeper, with the ball falling once more to his feet though, so that he was able to have a second attempt and push it into the net.

Roma go through on an aggregate of 5-2.

Milan get the win in final minutes
In a game which Roma had little interest in playing, the home side went ahead thanks to Julio Norinho in the starting minutes of the second half, but could not find a second and were punished by a late comeback from Milan, thanks to Pazzini who came onto the pitch from the bench to score two in the last five minutes and turn the score around.

That is the second defeat of the league campaign for Roma, both of which were at home.

Giallorossi bounce back after the Milan game
Roma didn't let the Milan loss bring them down as they bounced back with a win away to Juventus; it was a tight game, resolved for the new champions by Mattia Destro, who scored the only goal in the 63rd minute.

Juventus could have equalised in the dying minutes of the game thanks to a generous penalty awarded by the referee, but Arturo Vidal missed his spot kick, allowing Roma to bring back in the Capital the full spoils.

Giallorossi record a win in the final game of this league campaign
In the last game of the league campaign Roma was in front of its fans at the Olimpico, and sent them home happy for another win; Spezia proved no match for the home side which was ahead by to goals by the 20th minute, thanks to a double salvo from Lamela in the 15th minute and Pjanic four minutes later.

In the second half Spezia managed to reduce the gap as Sammarco missed the penalty in the 53rd minute, but Gentili managed to score from the following corner kick. However, Roma's control of the match never wavered, and Destro put his final word on the proceedings scoring the 3-1 goal right at the end.

Siena smashed 4-0 in the final act of the competition
Roma won their second Tim cup in a row as they dominated the final against Siena; Destro opened the score in the 16th minute, then Marquinhos doubled the lead in the final minutes of the first half as he was the quickest to get on the rebound from the bar after Destro's header, and tapped the ball into the net; in similar fashion arrived the third Roma goal with Osvaldo in the first half injury time, as the Italian striker was there to tap in the rebound from the bar hit by Pjanic with a direct free kick.

In the second half Roma controleld the game searching for a fourth, but Destro missed a couple of very good chances; the striker, however, managed to complete his brace as he scored on a good solo move right at the end of the game.

The Roma camp will now keep their concentration high ahead of the clash with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.

Thrilling final ends to extra time
It was a spectacular Champions League final between Roma and Borussia Dortmund, which saw in the end the Italian side bring home the prestigious cup; Dortmund started the game better and found the lead in the 16th minute thanks to a Perisic header from a corner, however Roma soon equalised with De Rossi scoring the penalty awarded for a foul on Osvaldo by Wallace.

Destro then gave Roma the lead as he intercepted a back pass from Hummels and was one on one with the keeper, having no trouble to beat him and place the ball into the net; Roma then furthened their lead with Lamela after less than fifteen minutes in the second half, but what seemed now a certain victory became much more complicated as Dortmund came back from two goals down, thanks to Hummels who scored a close range finish from a corner, then Reus who corrected home a cross from Lowe with ten minutes to go.

The match thus headed to extra time, and the inertia of the game seemed favourable for Dortmund; this however didn't put into account the Destro factor. The Italian striker lifted Roma by himself as he went to intercept another bad pass in the 94th minute, scoring his second of the game, and then put the end word on the final as he hit a 30 feet strike which went over Weidenfeller and then fell into the net.

It was Destro's third goal of the game, the 12th of the competition, which sealed Roma's triumph.

Giallorossi will count on a 70M euro transfer budget
According to Roma's director Franco Baldini, the club will allow a 70M euro transfer budget to the manager this summer; "He just led us to win four trophies in one season, making it five in two seasons; we have spoken with him and he believes he can bring us to more success, and we have no reason to doubt he will do that, so we want to show that we fully back him by handing him such a big transfer fee, sure that he will spend it well like he has done so far"

Giallorossi in pursuit of the young goalkeeper
Roma's manager has just confirmed the rumours which wanted his club chasing young German goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen. "We believe he's one of the best in the world in his role already and given his age we can't help being interested in the player. We know he will cost us a big fee but he definitely is worth that"
