I have downloaded the file from https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-start-date however nothing about it seems to be working. I have looked at other topics where people are also saying its not working for them but if im honest, the replies given do not many any sense to me.

I have version 19.3, i have followed the instructions to the latter on that webpage however when i load a new game the start date is always March 26th 2018. It says there are 140 odd days until the first match.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to sort this out and make it so it starts on the date the download is meant to. I've seen there is editor data that needs changing but once again following that doesnt do anything.

In the editor, under file > load editor data nothing comes up. It does under "import" however but i dont know what to do with them next.

Can someone help me understand in simple terms how to get this working and why it doesnt say on the official page what else needs to be done as its laid out so damn simple on the page i have linked however nothing is working.

Im willing to do all the further actions myself, im not complaining about having to do it, i just need to know in simple terms how to. Im familiar with the editor however i am also autistic and some of the explanations given on this forum dont explain things totally accurately.

Can someone help me with this.

Yeah, i know that the dude who created the files put a lot of work into this - but by all fairness hes explanation to the fix are not good.
i changed some things on the files it works for me now. Its up to date (3.April 2019)

When you choose your leagues dont forget to choose the Custom League and choose the start date from the custom league.
Also try to use only european leagues first.

if i still doesnt work just ask

If you still got problems just try this:

- open FM Editor and load your database
- go to "File" tab and then "Load Editor Data" - NOT IMPORT
- choose the UP TO DATE file
- after its loaded go to "Test competition" on the left side
- click on "create new test" and let it simulate a season
- next go to the tab "Rules"
- click on "Test Rules" and then on "All"

after all this just SAFE your editor data - not export and put both files "Start date" and "Fixures" in your editor directory.

I am having the same problem, It starts me on the right date but none of the results are recorded and my next fixture is 123 days away. Can anyone help with this? It worked fine in FM2018.
Also, when I follow the instructions above for the editor, it won't let me load the data, there is nothing to select unless I choose import.

you mean 2017??
you are talking about fm18 so start date is the 17/18 season

the confusion is coming as you state earliest date for FM18 is july 18 that would be the latest mate and I do not think it is possible to start a game later than the following May

The earliest date you can start FM18 is by using brazil as a payable nation and starting in november 2016

Are there different Custom fdate files for the FM18 and FM 19?
I use this one https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-start-date
But there the earliest date what i can choose is the 2 July 2018.
And this doesnt work in the game.

you are confusing the issue here mate you are stating earliest when you mean latest

you initially asked about FM18 and I have explained that to you what can be done see posts above

the custom start date here on site is for the current version of the game FM19 and you do not need a custom start date to start that in july 2018 thats when it starts anyway

as explained you cannot start fm18 in july 2018 the latest dates are late may 2018
