If after doing this, the face stills show a watermark across the face, just change the string to fit=500x500 and you'll get the biggest thumbnail without a watermark.

Another trick I use for Photoshelter images is to use fill=350x1440 (which will show with no watermark). If this image is too narrow, just paste it directly on top of a wider fit, for example using fill=800x1440.

Default URL is something like this: https://www.feyenoordmedia.nl/images/thumbs/8682ebd43f594a049098da16afe853ae_800_600.jpg
Replace 'images/thumbs' with 'media' and get rid of everything after the underscore, so the url looks like this for full-size image:
https://www.feyenoordmedia.nl/media/8682ebd43f594a049098da16afe853ae

Replace the segment "?preset=square", or any other variant like "?preset=header" with "?anchorpoint=top" to get the largest portion of the top of the image, "?anchorpoint=middle" for the centre portion and "?anchorpoint=bottom" for the bottom portion. These can be combined to make a larger image than the one provided on each player profile.

Doesn't look like it I'm afraid, hopefully it'll be back to normal with the club teams next season

It's valid for profiles on staff too. Just change the path before filename (usually the name of the player)
Sometimes pics aren't best quality though

"Search this collection" at the top and you can easily find the player you're looking for. Then right click on the image u want from there and copy the images web address and change "fit=188x188" to "fit=3000" in the link

Is there any way to get images bigger than 324x324 from the UEFA website?
HRiddick
Unfortunately not, the image quality/compression seems to have got worse over the years too

For fupa.net profile images, useful for German lower league players:
change 256x320 (or 128x160 etc) in the URL to 512x640 for the largest size like below
cdn.fupa.net/player/jpeg/512x640/WuR0xvgtFq1NPrGeoGoPXaUWNohAdOzaBiGcV8Fi
weeniehutjr
Even better, a recent change allows higher resolution versions for some images by changing the resolution parameters to 1024x1280 or 2048x2560, and by changing jpeg to png to get the image without jpeg compression
For example:
cdn.fupa.net/player/png/1024x1280/be47dCCoxjKeNUnvKwxq098QbC57NPrVDNC3oKnZ
or
cdn.fupa.net/player/jpeg/2048x2560/be47dCCoxjKeNUnvKwxq098QbC57NPrVDNC3oKnZ

Once you've found a picture remove "/resized" and "_660_375_cut" from the url and a nice big image shows up

Remove '_matchcenter_player_details.jpg' (or similar) from the URL for the full-sized image

Take the default image url like below
https://cdn.fupa.net/player/jpeg/256x320/TbITR5FZ07vMV0H2gGuOIhyF5sDeomave10kBw5p
and replace jpeg/256x320 with origin like below. This gets the original image size rather than a resized one so you don't lose any image quality.
cdn.fupa.net/player/origin/TbITR5FZ07vMV0H2gGuOIhyF5sDeomave10kBw5p
