This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, may not apply in the Beta, FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2018 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players. The latter are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. Due to licensing reasons, the number of Ajax non-playing staff is quite small and this file contains a fix to restore them. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

Susie Real Name Fixes - Ajax staff FM18_51792081-6A2F-4EF3-8781-F6D8D9E2A331.fmf
from within the editor data folder as they are no longer needed. Retaining them will see a duplicate complement for Ajax staff members.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly. The Japanese national team will be populated along the same lines too, but any Japan-based players are not in the official database and need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

The lnc files may work, but you will have the 2018 competition titles in FM11, which is not ideal.
I only have up to the FM13 versions of this file saved on my PC, but if you want the FM11 version, I'm sure some of these links will still be available for download...

Any ideas???

Are you starting the game with the FM18.0 database (starting database - i.e. Van Dijk at Southampton), or the FM18.3.0 database (i.e. Van Dijk at Liverpool)? Makes a difference...
Steesh1986
Hi,
Thanks for the response.
18.0.0 database, but I have updated all the db files, 1800, 1810 and 1830 - why would/does it make a difference?
Crpls
mons
As @Crpls said, the Ajax staff file included in the 18.0 version of this file was no longer needed with the 18.3 database as the missing Ajax staff were added by then.
Just use this version of this download and you should be fine: https://www.sendspace.com/file/bgrky4

Thanks for putting this together, it looks awesome.
When starting a new game, I don't have access to some of the major leagues, not sure what I've done wrong

Based on the instructions I added the dbc, edt and inc files to 1800, 1810 and 1830
Any ideas what has happened?

As explained in the opening post, you must have the file in place before starting a new game to see the Brazilian club name changes.
P.S. This is the FM18 version of this download. Are you sure you don't wan't the FM19 one?
FotZik
Effodeildin should be named Betri deildin
Also the Faroe Super Cup is named: Stórsteypadystur
mons
This is the FM18 version of this download. I'll check to see if they're named like that in the FM19 version
Avi123
What prompted me to download this is I'm producing a summer update for FM18 and noticed Real Betis is called some absurd name. I now know this is due to licensing issues but I wonder how many other club names were affected!
Thanks
mons
All Spanish, German and Portuguese clubs have non-licensed names. This is not evident when a club's name is the same as the city they are based in (e.g. Barcelona, Leverkusen) but it's quite clear in cases where the club's name is different to the city they're based in (e.g. Real Betis -> Real Hispalis, Schalke 04-> Gelsenkirchen).
All Brazilian club names, kits and colours are also completely changed for licensing reasons.
In all these cases, the correct real names are displayed by having the files from this download in place, which is perfectly compatible with other editor data files.

Thanks! Appreciate your hard work!
