Only very simple kits will appear ok. Kits with shorts and socks of different colour will have bands of wrong colour on various parts of the body. Here's the difference in texture mapping:

I can't comment about Milan's socks in the same pic, because the game chose to use the alternative black socks from the game files and not the white ones from the 3D kit, obviously because of overlapping with Chelsea's white socks.

Here's the first basic layout of FM20 3D kit. In my personal opinion, it's just terrible. A round collar in game needs to be drawn almost like a "V" to get it round. Back number and player name are oversized and badly placed so no space for sponsors between collar and player name. Texture mapping on shorts is a mess that is hard to understand. Whoever made this, he certainly doesn't care about details.
Also, not a problem for itself, but it needs to be pointed out that left and right sleeves switched places, so pay attention when remaking half-half designs for F20
