This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2020 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach managers have fake names. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Juventus) and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

You can find these folders by clicking, in the Finder, the Go menu in the menu bar, then choose Go to Folder and type the folder path name (obviously inserting your username), then click Go.
You can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

Not sure what you mean - what clubs did you have in mind? The only English club I've edited in this file is Newport Co > Newport (based on feedback in this thread's equivalent a couple of years back iirc) and it doesn't seem to fall within the category you mention

If I install the files say, today (which I plan on) and start a new save, everything should be smooth sailing for now. My question then is, after reapplying the file when changes are made to the game, will I need to start a new save every time? Or just update the existing files in the editor data and database subfolders?
Thanks for your help!

As per the above

@Vantezzle, I hadn't even realized a beta update has been released. Yes, please re-install the files. It's a 1 MB file and it's not that hard to install it, make it a habit to install this file again after every update, just in case

Yeah I have, each time I've re-installed.
Sorry, I should have clarified that in the beginning.
Any ideas?

Then it looks like you may not have installed the dbc folders correctly. Can I have screenshots of your dbc AND dbc/permanent folder in the 2000 and 2001 folders?

As for the Zebra U23, this issue was solved in v0.2 of the file, but it needs to be in place before starting a new game.

Please note that Israel Premier League isn’t called Ligat Japanika anymore
The new name is Tel Aviv Stock Exchange League
Thanks for the effort you put in these files

This is one of the things I have in my to-do file, but which I cannot do until I get my hands on the FM20 editor and see how exactly it's been implemented in-game and what the UIDs are. If you can assist with the new UID's, I'd be grateful. These changes would be save-game compatible anyway, so it's just a question of waiting the 11 days till FM20 comes out anyway
Will get it fixed in the next version. This change would also be save-game compatible
raumdeuter13
yes, and I did check the awards.inc,
and start the new game again, but it's still Euro cup award, First Division (should be La liga) awards

Unfortunately i have zero experience. The only thing i know how to do is turn on the id on my preferences and tell you the id's of superleague 1 & 2 cause the other are not accesible. I guess this is the same reason you have to wait for the editor to make the change. Just keep a note for when the time comes that the lower leagues are not named ''D' Ethniki - Athens or Pireaus or any other region''. The right one is ''EPS - Athens or etc''. Also i wanna thank you for your work cause its my favourite add on since 2012 when i found sortioutsi.

UID can be found already now here : https://sortitoutsi.net/search/database ( just choose leagues and type "greek" )

Thanks for your kind words and for these suggestions If I get in touch when the full game and editor are released, would you ind helping me confirm if the changes I make are correct or not?
The issue is mostly with the leagues which aren't playable and which aren't as easy to understand the names and levels for when using the site's database, which is extremely helpful nonetheless
Will be changed to LL in the next version of this file
teo_dim_
Thanks to qvordrup i found all the id's. Because i have to return to army tomorrow night i will prepare a note file with the id's and the correct names for all the greek competitions today and when you have time use it. Tell me if there is more to add other than id and the new name.
mons
That would be lovely
The way the file is structured, the UID and name is fine. Competitions also have long and short names, such as
"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 129650 "SuperLeague 1 Sourotí" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 129650 "SuperLeague 1" ""
but if I know the long name, I can usually work out the short name myself
