York City are a club that have been in decline for a number of years suffering relegation from League Two in 2015/16 followed by relegation from the National League the following season. As such the club is prime for a long term save to get back into the Football League.

FINANCES: Overall finances are pretty good with 200k in bank, 5k for transfers and an 18k wage budget. This gives a little leeway to probably bring in 2 or 3 signings to strengthen the squad.

VISION: The Board expectation is that the club win the National League North.

SQUAD: There are some quality players in the squad for a team at this level with the likes of Kempster, York and Maguire (currently injured) likely to be key players. After an assessment of the squad strength and depth I have opted to go for 4-2-3-1 as my primary formation using the Gegenpress tactic. I am also training with a 4-1-3-2 formation as a backup. Pre-season I have managed to bring in Yoan Zouma (21,Centre Back)) on a season long loan from Bolton and Chiori Johnson (22, Full Back) on a free transfer.

Going to play a few friendlies and try to find my first choice line-up

Not sure how our finances look that good, pretty sure we're about 6 million quid in debt and have been for a few years! Best of luck with the save though pal, good club to start with if you can keep them fit and consistent

York City seem to be a popular club to play with on this year's game. Good luck!

Managed York myself earlier on in the game. Will be looking to continue my save eventually! Interesting to see you signing Yoan Zouma & Chiori Johnson. I signed both for the club too, and Zouma was immense!

Pre Season friendlies went well, albeit against not the strongest opposition. 6 games, 6 wins and all players that I considered to be part of the first team squad got at least 2 starts.

AUGUST Fixtures:
Curzon Ashton (1-1), Gateshead (3-1), Farsley (4-2), Southport (5-2), Boston Utd (1-1), Bradford PA (0-0), Guisley (1-1)

A pretty good start to the season with 7 games undefeated. Formation seems to suit the squad well although the tendency to concede late goals (50% of goals after 80 mins) is a concern.
Need to look at player roles to proved better defensive cover and also better use of subs.

Currently sitting 5th in table

There's a few York saves on the forums at the minute, I live in York and they're doing well in real life, will be going to the game tomorrow actually. Hope you get some good form with The Minstermen

SEPTEMBER Fixtures:

Darlington (3-0), Gloucester (2-0), Alfreton (2-0), Brackley (1-1). Atherton Collieries (6-1), Altrincham (3-3)

A good month and still unbeaten. Disappointing performances/results against Brackley and Altrincham and still tend to concede to many chances to opposition.

Goals are being spread pretty well across the team with Burrow (6), York and Durrell (5), Kempster (4) being the higher scorers.

Zouma and Johnson have but putting in great performances with Zouma having chipped in with 2 goals and Johnson with 3 assists.

Currently top of the league

OCTOBER and NOVEMBER Fixtures:

Kidderminster (2-0). FC United - FA Cup (2-2) (3-0), Hereford (1-0), Kings Lynn (4-2), Chesterfield - FA Cup (4-2), Leamington (4-0)

AFC Telford (2-0), Blyth 3-0). Macclesfield - FA Cup (4-1), Chester (3-1), Bedford (3-0)

Team are really playing well now, good solid performances all round. Due to injuries I brought in Jordan Hallam on loan from Scunthorpe to fill the AMC role.

Goals are well spread through the team with leading scorers being York (13), Kempster (11),Langstaff (9) and Burrow (8)

Top of the league and picked up 3rd consecutive Manager of the Month award
