It depends on Russia's income tax rate, really.

Quick, someone check FM.

Some Russians pay very little tax. Depends on who you know.

Permanent residents in Russia are subject to a flat income tax of 13%.

I'm guessing everyone has heard the story about Arshavin and his contract?

Russians pay very little tax in general when compared to Western European countries.

Pardew on translator Jean-Paul Ndoumin, who ended up celebrating on the field at full time:

"When we ran through points I needed to make (in the team talk) he was really good. I think he's better than me; maybe I should retire. Afterwards he asked: 'Do you want me to do the post-match interviews?' and I said: 'No, that's my job.'

"I did actually ask the French boys if he was taking the piss at times because I saw a couple of them laughing at his translations. I don't know if he's expressing a bit more than what I'm saying but it seems to be working. We like him."

\o/

Apparently he's been fined by the FA for running onto the pitch but I can't find confirmation? If so very sad.

I know the deal Eto'o has is very sweet. He is chauffeur driven everywhere, gets everything he wants, pays nothing out of his own pocket. For a superstar Russia really is the place to go, if you can handle the culture shock.

I love the idea of the translator taking the piss out of Pardew whilst he's doing translating the instructions.

Tbf he was lucky to work under an immense manager like Bobby Robson.

I'm still gutted he got sick because the whole idea was he'd advise Steve Staunton when he took over as Ireland boss, man we could have been the next Greece, we would have fucked shit up!!!

Yes and Tino Asprilla would have led Darlington to the Premier League.

Even KM isn't that bad.

That's a particularly special level of stupid.

I really hope he leaves for Madrid soon so this Bale love-in can stop. He's clearly a hugely talented player but has so far to go before he can even be mentioned in the same breath as Cristiano Ronaldo.

I hope to god Bale doesn't see this, he's in love with Ronaldo enough that he definitely will don a fake tan, pink hot pants and an even more stupid hair cut if he thinks it will help.

So the Premier League's plan of a break even model is not making a loss of more than 105m?

I think that's the maximum loss you could cover by staying in the division with the following season's income in mind? Also, keep in mind it's over a period of 3 years, and if you don't have any allowances for losses, the Premier League would be detracting from outside investment, which is what they want in order to enhance their product.

Bale would need to drag Tottenham to the Premier League title and the Champion's League final, scoring 40-odd goals in the process to be anywhere near Cristiano Ronaldo. Stelling is either an attention whore or a fuckwit.

40 goals just in the Premier League. He'll need another 10 or 15 more goals in the cup competitions. .

Not sure you can compare that Man Utd team with Spurs team now. For a start, United had Rooney and Tevez; Spurs have Defoe and Adebywhore.

True, but a good chunk of Ronaldo's goal were self-created. Also, Bale would have to have an embarrassing amount of assists too.

Messi and Ronaldo are in their own league. I'd class Bale in the next bracket down, along with the likes of Falcao and van Persie.

I think you're just about spot on. Bale's world class, as are the others, but Messi and Ronny are out of this world.

I'd go further.

I'd have Messi and Ronaldo out in front.

Then a bracket of Iniesta, Xavi, RVP, Cavani, Falcao etc...

Then a third one of the likes of Neymar, Bale, Wilshere and so forth.

I think it's a little premature to put Bale in with the likes of those who have achieved so much more in the game than him.

Yeah, you might be right there - however, in terms of raw ability, I'd put Bale right up alongside guys like Cavani and Iniesta. Needs to win something first though.
