Posted this in a few places but had no joy thus far.

I've edited Gibraltar to make my own new country for an online game with my friends on FM19. We have a new league system, clubs, cities etc. The database works perfectly in single player mode, but as soon as I set it up as an online game, my friends are unable to take control of clubs in the new country? We've done an online game like this before with no issue, so why isn't it working this time?

https://i.gyazo.com/dc0e6d133042bd3640bbef3e1de88f2a.png- This is what we see when trying to add manager (Pooley Islands is the new country we want to manage in)

https://easyupload.io/b3gmn2- This is the edited data file in case someone needs to try it to identify the issue. (Apologies if some team names are offensive- I thought they were quite funny.)

Desperate for some help on this issue- I've done a LOT of editing and it's frustrating to see it not work.

I haven't played online for ages, but do your friends have the same editor data files in place as you do? Send them your files and try again, see if that works.

Hi, we've just tried this but unfortunately still no success.

Anyone else have any ideas? No clue what other things to try.

Latest update- We tried again making 2 clubs in Gibraltar with basic nation rules just to test and it worked fine.

I can't work out what was in the database that made it work fine on single player but not allow other people to manage in the country? Probably going to have to redo everything all over again now which is such a pain. Is there not a way to copy just teams from one editor file to another?

If it works in single player, there should be no reason why it doesn't work in multiplayer. Are you absolutely sure that the editor data file setup and installation files (real name fix etc.) are identical for everyone?

That said, I'm far from an expert and perhaps you could ask for guidance on the official forums in case somebody more knowledgeable can assist.

Hi, Thanks for the help, I posted on CommunitySIGames but no one has helped as of yet.

I've made my friend download the same transfer update and everything, and now he's able to take control of certain teams but the team he picks comes up with a different name for me? This is leading me to believe it's a bug.

How would I check installation files?

Have you installed the real name fix? Or anything inside the Steam FM20 folder? If yes, then your friend needs to have the same setup as you do.

Also, if you want to be sure that your friend has the same editor data setup, just compress it with Winrar and send it to him - that's the only way it'll be exactly the same, and that's what it needs to be

I haven't installed anything from the FM20 folder, as this is recently installed on my MacBook and I haven't had time to do anything other than install a skin.

What baffles me is how it's now fine when I launch an online game with our new editor file where we've had to re-make clubs we planned on playing with. How is one file not suitable for online but this one is? Could the amount of database changes affect things?

I don't think it should make much of a difference, but I'm really not sure. I'm not being helpful, I know, but the last time I played FM online was 2007...

OK, Thanks for the help anyway, it's more than I've been getting elsewhere.

It's disappointing but it's looking like we're gonna have to just start again and do routine tests to make sure it works every time we add a few new clubs.

When saving your file, make new versions every time you save. That way, you won't need to redo too much if a particular change requires you to start again from a more stable version. Writing down what changes were made at each step may also help you keep tracking. Believe me, on this I can definitely vouch.

Interestingly enough, I made a lot of different versions, but even the earliest version where only 6 clubs existed was broken when we tried it.

Then again, I did a lot of admin beforehand such as cities and local regions and that potentially 'broke' the file.

Right this is getting ridiculous, We started again and ran into the same issue, but now even when i undid everything that changed in between the working file and non working file, my friends still couldn’t join.

Is this just an issue of my PC not being powerful enough to host something like this?

Why can't they join? Do they get an error message?

Varies. one of my friends goes to select a team in the country but the whole nation is greyed out. The others get a ‘FM is running dangerously low on memory’ message before an error file notification appears.

No idea about the first guy's issues, but the others' looks like it may be because they don't have a good enough system...

Is this actually what it could be? I thought it was entirely down to the host's machine.

Either way, I should be getting a new computer soon as my desktop packed up, only one way to test this. Thanks.
