Can you change the skin to one of the default ones and see if the same issue happens? If it doesn't, it may be a skin-specific issue.
Did you change any files, particularly in the Steam folders, recently prior to this issue happening?

Then it's an issue with the skin; check if you're using the most recent version. Take it up with the skin creator if that doesn't solve it.
I wasn't involved in it, but I don't think so, no.
