This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2020 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach managers have fake names. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Juventus) and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 2020’
This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

You can find these folders by clicking, in the Finder, the Go menu in the menu bar, then choose Go to Folder and type the folder path name (obviously inserting your username), then click Go.
You can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

This file does not include any graphics at all, including the Juventus logo. You'll have to download it as part of a logopack, available here for download

It's either not installed correctly, or you've got some other files interfering with it.
Can I have screenshots of your 2040/lnc folder and also of your editor data folder please?
Luke Hearn
There you go...
mons
2040 lnc files look fine, as does the editor data folder.
When did you start the game? Was it with the 20.4 database or was it prior to that? Did you have any other editor data files in place when you started it? Can I ask what the LeagueDataUpdates file is too?
Luke Hearn
Came with the Level 11 database I have active. I think I started with the 20.4 database too - it was certainly up to date and the game was started on 19th March...
mons
Can you send the file over? If the creator changed the name in there, then those changes take precedence over those made by my file
Luke Hearn
Attached.

I'll have a look at it later when I get home
Does this thread help at all? I'm afraid I play this on a PC so I can't really provide much help on anything other than PC usage.
Matheus Seixas
No.. read all 35 pages.. trying to know if anyone has succeeded on other way.
mons
As mentioned earlier, my suspicion was corrected that whoever created the file manually changed the full name of the Premier League to Premier Division for whatever reason, so you're going to have to stay with it...
Si Ford
Didn't know where to post this but surely I can get a quick answer here
Does anybody know how many editor files you can use in (custom) game
Previous games was about 65 and anymore the game would crash
answers please, thanks in advance?
mons
Not sure it's got anything to do with this download
That limit you mention was removed a couple of FM versions back. Theoretically, there are no limits, but the more editor data files you have, the more likely it is that one of them will corrupt your save game.
Si Ford
Reason I posted here was due to around 8 files coming from this download
Not played since FM2016 but many thanks :
mons
I think it was FM17 or FM18 when the editor data file limit was removed actually iirc, yeah.
Luke Hearn
As in, there's no way to change it now?
kingrobbo
That limit was removed IIRC in FM18?
However I personally havent checked in this version but havent seen any reports on my travels re this
mons
I'm afraid not. Perhaps @kingrobbo can confirm, but I'm not sure editing that field is a possibility even if using an in-game editor.
kingrobbo
He wants to change a comp name in a save?
if so thats possible with the SI IGE @Luke Hearn
mons
Thought so.
Sorry @Luke Hearn, what you're aiming for is just not possible. That's one of the perils of using editor data files, you just can't know all the changes done by the creator. If this is a file which has been in place for many years, it may be worth having a word with him to suggest that this edit is not included in next year's edition.Edit: As per kingrobbo's post below, it looks like it may be possible only if you have enabled the use of the in-game editor before starting a new game and if you purchase said editor.
kingrobbo
Sorry mate I was thinking FMRTE only
SI IGE it is possible
so good news
mons
Ah ok, I've edited my above post now.
