How does the file work ingame when you pick a Champions League or Europa League team? Some competitions are updated and some aren’t. For example the group stages

Just to make people aware, I am working on a PhD fulltime, this means leagues will be released in bursts followed by some periods of no releases, rest assured more are coming. Remember this year isn't like normal, whilst I would have most league files done by now seasons also used to finish in May not July/August.

European changes (CL and EL) will be added when the finals are concluded (if either of them would influence next season, obviously if Sevilla v Inter and RB/PSG v Bayern are the finals as each finished in the CL places already it won't be an issue and the file will be released sooner).

I have an issue regarding Europa League guys

Started a save with Aberdeen and went on to play 8 qualifying games to get into group stages....great you say....but they never happened!!

The Europa League just stops on the 4th qualyfying round. as you can see from the date no further games have been played,,

I have checked and Champions League is going as planned though.


Now am I just unlucky and have a random save game error or is there more to it

Tried numerous save games but the same thing happens....there is a definate issue guys

I have seen this before when I am editing the advanced rules of continental competitions and changing the structure of a comp, but as far as I am aware nothing like this has been undertaken in the European file here, it is just basic editing eg changing teams to take part in the various comps the issue may be with the Europa not having the correct amount of teams

edit-I have taken a look in the editor and the changes are as I suggested just basic changes (history and registering/removing teams)

I did remove the files and started again....gutted though

Ive had a quick look and can confirm that the issue is there for me the group stage doesnt get drawn I have checked the number of teams registered etc looks right and no structural changes to the comp

I use the old European structure eg only winners of the leagues take part in UCL etc when I have chance to play the game
not going to happen for the next couple of months at this rate

Does anyone still had a problem with Europa League or its just on my save?

Europe file disabled until further notice.

I started a new game a couple of hours ago with the update, without the Europe file and it still hasn't produced the group stages. Not a problem for me as I'll just play through the first season, but thought I'd let you know.

There are several posts on this page already mate about this
That's why it's been removed from the download files
Shame but sometimes bugs happen when doing this and can't be resolved

One thing I found in the FM data, is dat Ajax always has far too less money
Since the selling of Matthijs de Ligt to Juventus, Ajax made more than € 300 million profit. Not all of that is available to buy new players ofcourse, but it would be nice if all the hard work of Marc Overmars (director of finance) is reflected in the update.
